FATHER'S DAY

A remarkable piece in the NY Times by a remarkable young man who is going to go far in life. Not confirming anything, but your curmudgeonly blogger may have had a tear in his eye by the end.

How Father's Day Became My Favorite Holiday

He Lives in the Double Helix of My Cells, but I Do Not Know Him

It's a bright and sunny spring day here in NYC. People are out and smiling and it's not sticky and there's plenty of interesting restaurants to enjoy, museums to explore, and independent movie theaters to see something interesting. So to sum it up, it's all Miami is not and never will be.

Helloooo Podcast USA. It's your special Sunday Start Your Day the Right Way Podcast, and I am Hanzy

Coco: And I am Coco

Hanzy: I should have said the special Father's Day US Open Edition. Tell me Coco when you spell Father's Day do you use the apostrophe before the S?

Coco: I don't Hanzy, but I note the NY Times does, so who knows?

Hanzy: How's the US Open?

Coco: Tommy Fleetwood has set the course on fire today. He just bogied 16 and is now 7 under. He still has a chance for a 61 or 62 but that bogie hurt.

Hanzy: Are you walking with McIlroy and Scheffler? Gotta be the hot pairing of the day.

Coco: I'll be running between them and Fowler and Clark, the final pairing at 10 under. You know I remember the late Tom Carney always said drive for show, putt for dough. I think today it's an easy course to drive, so the hot putter will win it. And of course, it's a shame the 30 something female judgies in the REGJB have no idea who Tom Carney was.

Hanzy: Careful there mi amigo, we don't want a me-too moment.

Coco: You're right. The weather here in LA has been less than great, which is strange for Southern California. But at least we now all have the water we need after the winter snows.

Hanzy: What about Trump not paying for the food for everyone at Versailles after announcing he would.

Coco: Gotta give the big fella a pass on that. His birthday was the next day, and I'm sure he tasked an aide with an Amex to do it. No biggie.

Hanzy: But the press was bad. Even our old friend Ovalle got into the act for the Washington Post. What are your thoughts about Ricky Fowler?

Coco: Fowler has missed the cut on 6 of the last ten majors. And now he shares the lead in the final round with the final pairing. He's a strange dude. He's popular on tour with the fans and everyone is pulling for him. But we will see. It will be crushing for him if he loses this. He may never have another opportunity like this, and losing after playing so well will haunt him. And uhho he just teed off into the rough on the first hole.

Hanzy: His left to right game needs some help. Clark- paired with Fowler in the final round plays a real strong fade.

Coco: You know, I don't think anyone knows what left to right means, they just all say it on television. Don't look now Hanzy but McIlroy just birdied the first and he's tied for the lead. Fowler has his work cut out for him for sure with Rory, Clark and Scottie Scheffler chasing him.

Hanzy: You may be right about the left to right Coco. Time for our first break, and if you're getting ready for summer like Coco is, then Nutrisystem can help you lose those last five pounds. Here's a word from them and we are back in sixty seconds.

JUSTICE BUILDING "JUDGIES" CALL FOR COCO'S OUSTER
Dear Rumpole- we, a collection of female "30 something" judges who Coco so obnoxiously referred to as "judgies" write to express our outrage at this misogynistic, myopic, misanthrope and his caveman rantings against qualified and distinguished female jurists.
What are you going to do about him Rumpole? Give him free reign to write his childish rantings? Or are you going to take down his post, ban his butt from the blog, and protect the integrity of Florida's female judges?

The ball is in court Rumpole. Don't less us down (you may need a continuance someday).

Hanzy: So Coco after 6 Fowler is fading as fast as ....well you are. Quite the kerfuffle.
Coco: Much ado about nothing and Folwler is letting all his fans down. The interesting thing is Clark leads by two and Rory is stalking him. This is the kind of back nine that we would expect Tiger or Jack to come roaring home.
Hanzy: I had a few Sheckles on Wyndham Clark on DraftKings. I like my chances here to make a few bucks. You know in private practice you gotta grab the money as it comes.
Coco: And isn't Wyndham an interesting first name? No one named Wyndham other than Wyndham Clark has ever won a golf tournament by the way.
Hanzy: So you gonna apologize or what?
Coco: Ok Ok. Such a cancel culture. I's sooooooo sorrrrrry alright?
Hanzy: You dug the hole, you gotta fill it.
Coco: If I am betting right now, it's Rory. He's dialed in. His lag putts are on the money. Fowler looks shaky and Clark is an unknown. Meanwhile, the chardonnay here, decent but over priced. So are the sushi rolls. 20 dollars for a tekka maki? You gotta be kidding me.
Hanzy: Speaking of which, it's time for our next break and a word from the Robert Mondavi wines. Great wines from a great winemaker. And we are back in sixty seconds.

Rest assured the Coral Gables Women's club stands behind the "Judgeis" and will be removing Mr. Coco from our membership roles at the next meeting. He is NO LONGER welcome on the premises as a member or guest.

LA County Club said...

We invite Mr. Coco to leave our wonderful and inclusive club and we will be glad to issue a full refund for his wine and sushi. Repugnant ideas like his have no place at our wonderful club and the US Open.

Hanzy is a LEGEND at the Justice Building. I may leave the PD’s office earlier than my commitment just to join his private practice office on the civil side. I could learn so much. Anyone know where Hanzy & Coco broadcast from? I would love to get a ticket to be in their studio audience. PLEASE HELP a girl out.

If anyone wants to meet Hanzy tonight - he is hosting champion athlete Wyndham Clark and his family at Maestro’s in Beverly Hills at 8:30pm PST. Hanzy was quoted as saying “Winning the US Open at a course as brutal as the LA Country Club is a big f’ing (sic) deal!”

Come enjoy complimentary shrimp cocktails, a delicious Mai Tai and dry aged tomahawk sliders. It’s all free. Paid for by Robert Mondavi Wines. A proud Hanzy & Coco sponsor.

Goooooood morning Podcast universe. It's start your day the right way podcast and I'm Hanz
Coco: And I'm Coco
Hanzy: Great end to the US Open.
Coco I was at 18 when Rory had his second shot into the green needing a birdie and he left it about 50 feet wide- he needed a makeable birdie putt but his approach was not what a champion like Tiger or Phil would have shot. He had his chance. No excuses.
Hanzy Speaking of excuses, the uproar over some intemperate remarks continues...
Coco I said I was sorry, what more do they want in this cancel culture?
Hanzy Uhho the C word...
Coco Yeah, well, let's move on. It's Juneteenth. And I'm celebrating with a big slice of red velvet cake tonight.
Hanzy: Don't go there Coco
Coco : You ever think September-teenth would rhyme better than June-teenth? If they had waited to tell the slaves in Texas until the summer was over, we could have a nice mid-September holiday
Hanzy: On no...I warned you. This is not going to be good.
Coco: BLM?
Hanzy: nope, need more.
Coco: I have a dream?
Hanzy: Ok then, let's take our first break. Have you seen the new series on Max? Hbo Max is now just Max and there's a ton of new content up. Here's a word from the best streaming service out there. And we will be back in sixty seconds....

OMG, the Hanzy and Coco thing is annoying. It's been fun over the years when little things like this or Shummie, or other nonsense, becomes a theme in the comments. It's like when the Simpsons were a short inside of the Tracey Ullman Show. But it's gotten to be too much. Hanzy and Coco are taking over the blog (not in a good way). My suggestion is either get your own blog or keep it to one or two comments per blog post.

Such a nasty, unfair, and uncalled for comment. As one of her colleagues, I can tell you she is regularly present at Friday happy hours with her female and male colleagues. Did you know she teaches the philosophy of sentencing at UM law? She is a wonderful judge who cares. You should strive to be like her, instead of your hateful a-hole self. I'm surprised Rumpole approved this stupid comment.

I didn’t see it at first the way you did. But now I do. It’s gone. I just don’t think in those ridiculous terms of attack. But you’re right. So I removed it. Sorry.

Hey Rumpole. Thank you for your stock tip to buy Tesla and Apple years ago. You made me more money than I ever made in the field of law.

How high will Nvidia get?

Any 2023 stock and financial tips dear Sir?
