NO WAY IN OR OUT

We recently visited the REGJB this past few weeks, checking in on some courtrooms, seeing some old friends, bow tie affixed, bowler in hand. Trying to maximize our time, we previously scheduled a deposition, something we do less and less these days. Finishing our appointed rounds, we perambulated down the street to the SAO, expecting to spend the afternoon inquiring "what happened next...and then what did you do (see, hear, etc)?"

But we didn't expect to be confronted with this law-school-entrance test-like puzzle:

We started our ill-fated journey  at  Depo window # 5. But it was not occupado and we were re-directed to window #4.

But window #4 had a surprise- an arrow pointing to window #5. Now what? We confess to being flummoxed.

Our eyes darted back and forth. No way in. No way out. Foiled again!

The state doesn't like depositions. But this is a little underhanded don't ya think?

THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

JUDGE DIANE WARD RESIGNS .....

Judge Diane Ward, a fixture at the Justice Building since 1982 is moving on to the next chapter of her life. After graduating from UM Law in 1982, she joined the PDs office spending six years there.

From 1988-2002 Judge Ward was in private practice. She was elected to the Circuit Court bench in 2002 and she has been re-elected two times, in 2008 and 2014.

Trivia Question: Who did Judge Ward defeat in her first race in 2002?

We thank Judge Ward for her 22 years of public service to the citizens of Miami Dade County and we wish her well.

Sort of surprising.

Postman, he of the "fine" of making a late arriving PD or ASA buy a dozen donuts for the staff the next day in court.

A story the Florida BullDog titled Florida Bar using similar evidence to obtain drastically different outcomes explains that Tunis' report was written by Michael Tein for Tunis to sign which explains Cueto's report.

Her best move was marrying Eddie O. Probably the best prosecutor I have ever faced in a State case. He was a major crimes prosecutor would ask all of the defense questions on voir dire, and if your client took the stand he would cross and ask" What did you do with the gun"
