SUPER BOWL 2023 PROP BETS

The fun of the Super Bowl if you are NY Jets or Texans or Cleveland Browns fan is that you can place proposition bets on just about anything. Which celebrity will be shown first on television; the color of the Gatorade bath on the winning coach; the first play of the game being a run or a pass; how many yards will Mahomes throw; and who will be the MVP are some of the prop bets. Here are our favorites and Rumpole's picks:

Remember that everything is based on a $100 bet. For a + bet, you bet a 100 and win the number. So +2500 means you bet a 100 to win 2500. In a minus bet, you lay the number to win a 100. So -245 you bet 245 to win 100. Have fun.

FOOBALL PROPS

KC WR Sky Moore to return a kick or punt for a TD  +2000. Moore is a rookie with speed. We don't think this will happen, but we like the odds and if anyone is returning a kick, it's Moore.

Final score Eagles 37- Chiefs 34. +5000. This is close to our final score prediction, so we are letting it rip for 200 here.

Jalen Hurts over 350 yards passing and over 2 TDs (meaning 3) +2000.

Parlay of Eagles -1.5 and over 49.5 +250.

Number of the player jersey who scores the first TD- Over 11.5 =+130. This is a lock.  This was initially a win but then the TD was overturned, and it became a loss.

Eagles first score will be a TD +285 WIN

First score is an Eagles TD +200. Both teams have a tendency to go for it on fourth and short, so this is worth a play.

Will either team score a safety? Yes +1500. SB trivia- who scored the first safety in SB history. The team, the city where it occurred and the player?

NON-FOOTBALL PROPS

We will post our never-fail, dead-lock guaranteed winner of the coin toss before the coin toss. Certain atmospheric conditions, the dew point in the Arizona desert, whether the person tossing the coin is left handed or right handed, the drag coefficient of this coin along with the weight, the gravitational pull of the moon at the time of the coin toss, the humidity, as well as a slight but not insignificant .0001% incline from the 50 yard line to the south goal line must all be considered and entered into our simulation program for us to arrive at our decision. By the time we post our call, our sim program will have run the coin toss well over ten million times and a noticeable bias will be revealed.

But here is our best bet. Take it to the bank that the national anthem, sung by country singer Chris Stapelton will be OVER 1;59, Book it!

Gatorade bath for the winning coach- yellow/green +225 (for $10 to win $22.25).

Will the announcers mention Tua at any point during the game? NO -1000.

A Chinese Spy Balloon will be shot down over the stadium during the game? Yes -600. If yes then an F-22 will shoot the balloon down +800 or an F-35 will shoot down the balloon -220. No- +1800.

The Captain Reports:

My bet. I teased Chiefs up to plus 7.5 and teased the total to under 57.

Go Chiefs.

Cap Out …..

Not bad but if the bet pays off I think it’s a back door cover - the chiefs down by 14 with under two minutes and they score a TD the Eagles give up bleeding them for time. I don’t think it’s a close game. Exciting. I like the over. But not close. Look how the Chiefs got here. Some questionable penalties moved them into FG range. They won and were not the better team. That could happen again. But I don’t think it’s likely.

At 720 exactly my app gave me five minutes to confirm and then charged my card $1000 for me plus one. At 815 it sent the address - an empty warehouse just off Biscayne and in the 20’s. And at 930 doors opened for the REN’s Shumie bowl party. Top DJ’s. Band members from KC jamming. Hot models everywhere. Rick and Amanda back at the door - I know everyone calls her Mandy but not me. When she worked the door at THE REN she was finishing college. Now she’s an attorney and ar six foot - the Pilates have turned her from a 7 to a 10 and don’t think she doesn’t know it. Lots of the old wait crew was there and many of the regulars but not Freddy Spaghetti who they said was in Reno married for the 8th time.
Anyway breakfast was served at 4am and I’m just getting home after dropping my date off in WBP. Sometimes it’s worth the drive if you know what I mean (wink wink) enjoy the Super Bowl everyone. Fly Eagles 🦅 Fly!

The first safety in Super Bowl history was scored by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cannot remember the city or the player. And I don't want to cheat by looking it up on Google. I believe the year was 1976 or 1977.

Very good. Super Bowl IX, Steelers vs Vikings. Tarkenton fumbles the snap around the ten and scrambles back to the end zone and falls on the ball. Slo motion replay shows both Jack Lambert and LC Greenwood run to Tarkenton and clearly LC taps Tarkenton first as he is down, so LC gets the credit for the sack. And BTW he should have been co-mvp with Franco. True Franco set a SB rushing record with 156 yards, besting the record of 145 Czonka set the year before, but LC had THREE blocked passes, was in Tarkenton's face all day, was unstoppable, and if you watch the game, which I did again last night for fun, Rocky Blier chewed up the Vikes defense with these short trap bursts up the middle which were more important to the Steelers at the time than Franco's runs, which for the most part were meaningless, except for scoring the first TD on a nice off tackle run for ten yards.
The City was New Orleans, Louisiana. The turf was so bad players were sliding and falling all day.
Also fascinating to see the two steeler rookie WRs who didn't start the game named Swann and Stallworth play in their first super bowl, knowing now they have so much glory ahead of them in the next five years and three more super bowls.

#putLCintheHOF !
It's never really a good super bowl unless the Steelers are in it.
