UPDATE: Rumpole Says: The Japanese have a saying: "When a man walks into a room, he brings his whole life with him."
We have a saying here in Miami: "When an Anglo woman married to a Hispanic man decides to run for judge, she brings her newly adopted name to the ballot."
Well done Captain. And we hope Ms. TMTC (hijklmnop-LSMFT) decides to email us and respond to this post. She is invited to do so without any edits (unless she curses at us).
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
A ROSE IS A ROSE IS A ROSE, EXCEPT WHEN YOUR NAME IS TERESSA MARIA TYLMAN.
We have been writing for this BLOG (thank you Rumpole) since late 2005. We got into this business to report on the JNC process, newly appointed judges named by our Governor, and judicial elections. If you are an avid reader, then you know that we have, on several occasions, called out judicial candidates for playing the Name Game. In order to enhance their appeal to a certain segment of the voting population, a candidate who went by one name for years and years overnight becomes a totally different person.
Well, in 2022, that honor (but will she eventually be called Her Honor) goes to attorney Teressa Maria Tylman.
THE FLORIDA BAR
According to The Florida Bar, Ms. Tylman was listed as an active member of the Bar under the name Tylman from her admission in September of 2010 until February of 2022. She also used the email address for Bar purposes of tessatylman@gmail.com
On February 23, 2022, according to The Florida Bar, she changed her last name to Cervera and her email address to teressamcervera@gmail.com and she became:
Teressa Maria Cervera, The Florida Bar, Admitted: 9/23/10
Miami, FL 33155-3708
So, with the help of an anonymous tipster, we did some checking.
FLORIDA DIVISION OF CORPORATIONS
According to SUNBIZ, Ms. Tylman is currently and since inception has always (for ten years) been incorporated under the name:
Entity Name: TERESSA MARIA TYLMAN, P.A.
Current Principal Place of Business
MIAMI, FL 33155
SIGNATURE: TERESSA TYLMAN PRESIDENT 06/03/2021
MIAMI-DADE PROPERTY APPRAISER
According to the MIAMI-DADE PROPERTY APPRAISER, (we ran her office address used on Sunbiz), she and her husband own a home at that location, under the name, you guessed it, Tylman:
ADDRESS: 2030 SW 60TH AVENUE
Owners:
TERESSA MARIA TYLMAN
WARRANTY DEED: Signed June 7, 2017
*Adam Cervera is Teressa Tylman’s husband. He is an attorney employed by the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff.
According to LinkedIn, at one time Ms. Tylman was employed by the Law Firm Fein & Meloni, under the name, you guessed it again, Tylman:
Teressa Tylman - Fein & Meloni - LinkedIn
FLORIDA VOTER ID CARD
According to her VOTER Registration card, Ms. Tylman is 37 years old, she is registered as a Republican, and she uses the name, you guessed it, Tylman, on her official voter’s ID card.
FLORIDA DRIVERS LICENSE
According to our investigation, the most recent Florida Drivers License issued to Ms. Tylman was issued on February 12, 2022, under T-xxx-xxx-85-552-0. The name on the license, you guessed it, Teressa Maria Tylman. Only eleven days later, Ms. Tylman was changing her name with The Florida Bar, from Tylman to Cervera.
Let me say very clearly that, Ms. Tylman, is not breaking the law. We last exposed the Name Game charade in 2018, when in Broward County, an attorney names Jason Allen (his middle name) Rosner decided to file paperwork to run for Judge under the name Jason Allen-Rosner. The reasoning for the hyphen was all to in your face clear - Rosner did not want to be listed last on the ballot of the four competitors in his race and by changing his name to Allen-Rosner he went from last to first on the ballot. We have also reported numerous times in Miami-Dade County when a judicial candidate magically gained an Hispanic name, seemingly overnight.
But running for Judge means that one has read and is familiar with the Code of Judicial Conduct. Canon One of the Code discusses INTEGRITY and states that "An ..... honorable judiciary is indispensable to justice in our society. A judge should participate in establishing, maintaining, and enforcing high standards of conduct, and shall personally observe those standards so that the integrity ..... of the judiciary may be preserved."
INTEGRITY, for those of you keeping score at home, is defined as: "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles".
WHAT IS THE LAW???
We previously spoke with Jesse Dyer, an attorney in the General Counsel's office with the Division of Elections, Florida Department of State, and here is what he told us about the issue of what name they permit to appear on a ballot:
First, there are no Florida Statutes nor Florida Administrative Codes that directly address this issue.
Second, there is an Advisory Opinion issued by the Division of Elections, authored 36 years ago, AO Number 86-06 that primarily addresses "nicknames" appearing on the ballot.
The AO reads, in pertinent part:
" ..... Under common law principles, not abrogated by Florida law, a name consists of one Christian or given name and one surname, patronymic or family name; therefore, the name printed on the ballot ordinarily should be the Christian or given name and surname"..... "However, it has been determined that any name by which a candidate is known is sufficient on a ballot, and a person is legally permitted to have printed on the ballot the name which the candidate has adopted and under which he or she transacts private and official business, 29 C.J.S. Elections §161."
The Advisory Opinion goes on to state that:
"Election officials, however, may be justified in refusing to print on the ballot a candidate's nickname when it is not shown that the nickname ever was used by the candidate as part of his legal name, and such officials may be equally justified in refusing to print on the ballot a candidate's choice of a name which has not been adopted by him or her and under which the candidate has not transacted private and official business. See C.J.S. Elections §161."
For 37 years, Teressa Maria Tylman held herself out as Tylman. When she married her husband, Adam Cervera in 2014, she continued to use the Tylman name for another eight years. But when she decided to run for Circuit Court Judge against Judge Lody Jean, Tess Tylman magically became Teressa Maria Cervera, overnight.
So, there you have it. Maybe it’s time for a change in the law. Or maybe, just maybe, we should expect just a bit more integrity from some of our judicial candidates.**
Captain4Justice@gmail.com
**Ms. Tylman aka Cervera is invited to email us with an explanation/understanding as to why she decided to change her name with The Florida Bar in February to Cervera. We will print her emailed response on this Blog (with her permission of course).
***The photo above is of the UPS Store located at 6800 Bird Road. Ms. Tylman aka Cervera has her law office address listed with The Florida Bar, as #444, at that location.

It’s simple Rump. Tylman recently stopped using her anglo Tylman name and started using the hispanic Cervera to target Judge Lody Jean because her name sounds Hatian / African-American. Welcome to Miami-Dade elections. Tylman is an incompetent lawyer who has appeared in a total of a dozen cases in her ten years of practice, during which she has had 11 different office address.
In her financial disclosure, she reports an income of $55,000 per year from her "Teressa Maria Tylman P.A.” law firm located the UPS Store mentioned in your informative post. Property records show a mortgage on her home of $380,000 which she did not disclose in her judicial financial disclosure and she did not deduct this debt of $380,000 when she calculated her alleged net worth. In her financial disclosure Tylman gives her law firm, the "Teressa Maria Tylson PA", a value of $100,000 which seems fabricated and high for a firm with two clients, which she claims generates $55,000 per year in revenue. God help us and God help our clients if she is elected.
Great post. Integrity. Here is an example of integrity. According to the Becker & Poliakoff website, Tylman's husband is the Chair of a Florida Bar, 11th Circuit Grievance Committee who is charged with preserving the integrity of our judicial system blah blah blah blah. Is her husband, who is a partner at that firm, on board with Tylman's deceitful name shell game scheme ? The Becker & Poliakoff website sure has a lot of the best and most beautiful words about diversity and inclusion blah blah blah blah.
Where does CABA stand on deceitful and incompetent judicial candidates who conjure up hispanic names to jump into judicial elections hoping for a their first steady job and a significant pay raise ?
That language about ‘truth' and 'honor’ and 'integrity’ and ‘never seeking to mislead’ in the Florida lawyers oath means nothing to some lawyers today.
Thanks for exposing this!
Judge Jean does not deserve opposition. She is an excellent judge. It is unfortunate that an attorney can go from an office that utilizes a UPS store as it’s address to an elected judge by changing her last name for an election.
Similarly, it’s unfortunate that judge blumstein was able to get elected by using a sailor uniform, he is not allowed to use on billboards, to gain votes.
The judicial voting system is needed to ensure that judges that get appointed and are not qualified, can have the voters remove them from office, but allowing unqualified attorneys whom lack integrity and manipulate the system to eventually become a judge and rule on the biggest Issues in someone’s life has to addressed.
I just realized who this “Teressa” person is. She also goes by the name Tessa and is not qualified to be an attorney and certainly not as a judge.
What about hispanics who simply target Anglo names? It started with Fleur Lobree and now Lody Jean seems to be the target du jour. the sad thing is that Miami Dade County residents validate the actions of these individuals who change their name for their election advantage or target those with Anglo names. Simply look at the results of the last 2020 judicial elections:
Mirabal defeated Mansfield
Martinez-Scanziani defeats Rebull
Ruiz defeats Hansen
Aponte defeats Tunis
Clearly everyone can see the trend above. Mayor Suarez seems to believe Miami is the hottest place to be these days. If he is right, maybe the voting constituency will change with the migration of Californians and New Yorkers. All we can do at this point is come together and fight for Lody Jean.
Memo to Lody Jean: Please file a lawsuit to get this incompetent hack off the ballot.
After the incompetent and totally unqualified Aponte won over a long time, well respected Judge with a non-latin last name we have come to expect similar bottom feeders who want to make 164K plus benefits over her mediocre 55K income. She, like El APONTE is a disgrace to even thinking of becoming a Judge.
Just another reason why all judges should be appointed.
Thank goodness Judge David Young-Martinez has no opponent.
Changing of the judicial qualification for circuit court judges requires a constitutional amendment. I belive now the only requirement is 5 years barred. (not even practicing). So we either have to do a consitutional initiative (get like a gazillion people to sign a petition to put it on the ballot then win. (See Amemdment 4) or wait for the next Constitituional committee (which meets every 20 years) to change it, but they prefer to pass things like its "unconsitituional to vape in an enclosed building." So vetting of judical candidates is left to the voters. If I wrong and there is another way I would be thrilled. Unfortuantly, I do not think I am.
Carmen M. Vizcaino
What do you let this blatantly anti-Hispanic drivel on the blog.
Lody Jean is a hack like Jason Block. She rules and reverses herself the next day. Enough is enough with this immigration lawyers trying to be state court judges. Goodbye Jean.
Maria Teresa should file against no-good Jackie Woodward aka incompetent Woodward. That simple.
Is the election system any more "corrupt" or "corruptable" than the governor of either party just appointing a member of a favored political organization. The retention system is equally ineffective since any appointees are basically give a job for life. If Sonia Sotomayor applied for a county court spot, she wouldnt stand a chance against a card carrying member of the Federalist Society.
It may not be perfect, but its the best system we have. The only thing I would recommend is term limits. Three terms and you're out.
Sincerely,
Carmen Wang Le-Pierre Greenberg O'Connor Rodriguez
2024 Circuit Judge Candidate against an old white guy to be named later
Did you write a something when Barzee switched her name to Barzee- Florez? I see nothing wrong here accept that in this case the lawyer seems to lack credentials. Judges should be appointed not elected officials.
@821:
"Clearly everyone can see the trend above. Mayor Suarez seems to believe Miami is the hottest place to be these days. If he is right, maybe the voting constituency will change with the migration of Californians and New Yorkers. All we can do at this point is come together and fight for Lody Jean."
What an incredibly racist comment. Holy cow.
Hispanics, being an overwhelming majority in Miami-Dade, should not be castigated for expecting representation on the bench. Of course, unqualified hacks (of whatever racial or ethic background) don't belong on the bench. But your solution for that problem is not to create better qualification standards, your solution is to hope for a whiter Miami. Wow.
What an amazing post. I can see it took a lot of work. Thank you Captain. This blog is truly an institution and part of the Miami legal scene. You could say it is in many ways the conscience of the community. And I like that Rumpole posts positive and negative comments. It shows he has the maturity that many of the mean people posting nasty comments do not have. Rumpole should run for judge.
As to those people who criticize a judge, be like Theodore Roosevelt and become the man in the arena and take a stand and run. Or just STFU.
Still a lot better than politically appointed judges. I’d take a random 11th Circuit judge over a random 3rd DCA or Florida Supreme Court judge any day.
She tries and usually does get it right. I respect a judge who is willing to reverse her own decision based on the law than one who is unwilling to accept the law is contrary to their ruling. This Tessa Tylman lady is not competent and I assume she will need her husband on speed dial to make her rulings for her.
1101 u STFU. We can criticize judges and judicial candidates without actually running for judge.
If Tylman's husband is the Chair of a Florida Bar, 11th Circuit Grievance Committee and if he is in agreement with the shameful and deceitful conduct of his wife then The Florida Bar should immediately remove Adam Cervera from that position. TFB is such a joke. Is Becker & Poliakoff supporting Tylman ?
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
Carmen V.
As for this particular case, and based on what I was told by the officials at the Division of Elections, I believe that the only recourse is for either Lody Jean or a registered voter in Miami-Dade County to file a lawsuit (or Dec Action) asking a Judge Order the Division of Elections to not permit Tylman to use the name Cervera on the ballot.
Cap Out .......
I'd lay odds that Becker & Poliakoff, who likely has been asked to support the wife of one of their lawyers, has no clue about this. Particularly a lawyer who is Chair of a Florida Bar, 11th Circuit Grievance Committee. I wonder what they would be thinking about all of this? Hmmm.
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
BREAKING NEWS:
In Circuit Court Group 52, Incumbent Judge Oscar Rodriguez-Fonts now has an opponent. Jason Bloch has filed paperwork today to run in that Group.
Jason Bloch was appointed as a Circuit Court Judge in 2014 by Gov. Rick Scott. When he had to face the voters in 2016 he had opposition from Marcia Del Rey. Del Rey won over the voters by a count of 52-48%.
Judge Marcia Del Rey is currently on the bench and running for re-election, in Group 9.
Cap Out .......
I'm praying that both Judge Lody Jean and Oscar Rodriguez-Fonts win re-election.
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
A FEW MORE UPDATES FOR OUR READERS:
Teressa Tylman aka Cervera has paid her Qualifying Fee and also filed her financial paperwork. She has a Net Worth of $525,625. Her annual salary from her law firm last year was $55,900.
Candidate Brenda Gitchey Guerrero has paid her Qualifying Fee and she filed her financial paperwork. She has a Net Worth of $186,361. Her annual salary breaks down like this: W-2 from her law firm $40,000. K-1 from her law firm $54,000. Total $94,000
Judge Oscar Rodriguez-Fonts must love the competition. Because no matter where he goes there is an opponent ready to follow.
In 2014, Rodriguez-Fonts ran against Martin Zilber for Circuit Court Judge. Zilber beat him - we all know how that one ended up.
In 2016, Rodriguez-Fonts ran against Rosy Aponte and Carol "Jodie" Breece. Rodriguez-Fonts beat Breece in the Run-off.
In 2022, Jason Bloch has challenged Rodriguez-Fonts.
Can a guy get a break. Three contested election.
Cap Out .......
That's it. I am changing my name to Julio Iglesias and will run for Judge.
"What about Hispanics who simply target Anglo names?"
Rebull, Lobree, Hansen, Tunis, and Jean are not Anglo names.
Shameful conduct for a judicial candidate. Just shameful. Be said for a long time now all judges should be appointed after a rigorous review to their academic and professional accomplishments.
Also we need more coloreds on the bench being I meself am are uh colored.
Omg have we missed you RFRA. WELCOME BACK BABY
What utter bullshit!
Lody Jean is the unique trifecta
1) She was a fair and effective prosecutor
2) She was good defense attorney and
3) She has been just as good as any while on the bench (she's fair, efficient, runs a well-organized docket and always has a pleasant disposition...she's a pleasure to be before).
It really cheapens the judiciary when it turns into a rigged beauty contest. How ironic that once some of these clowns are elected we must refer to them as "your honor".
By the way, to say that this is a result of a democratic process is also horseshit since the bulk of the voters have no idea who these candidates are.
Jason Bloch is a total flaming jerk. He was horrible as a county attorney. He was horrible as a judge. Go away Jason.
Oscar is a really nice person who means well and respects everyone.
Go away Jason.
Under money laundering laws banks are required to be provided with the real names and real IDs used by lawyers who open judicial election accounts. Are the bank records of Tylman's judicial election accounts public records ?
In our dystopian age, what we need is a white male anglo to "identify" as a hispanic female and put his name on the ballot.
Electing judges is just absurd.
When do the Shumie and Q endorsements come out ?
Lody Jean has been a very good judge. She is intelligent, fair, courteous, respectful, and it is clear to me that her motivation is only in doing the right thing. It is disturbing to see her get opposition.
Has anyone endorsed Tylman ? She has zero contributions posted online. Has her husband ,the partner at Becker & Polliakoff, officially endorsed Tylman ? Has anyone at Becker endorsed Tylman or given Tylman any money or held a fundraiser for Tylman ?
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
GROUP 52
AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, JASON BLOCH FILED AGAINST JUDGE OSCAR RODRIGUEZ-FONTS YESTERDAY. HERE IS SOME VERY INTERESTING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS RACE .......
Jason Boch paid his Qualifying Fee at 10:40 AM this morning. He is in.
Jason Bloch has a New Worth of $72,379,625 (that is not a misprint)
Jason Bloch's salary (income) in 2021 was $1,699,142. That entire amount was made up from stock dividends in the amount of $374,063 and a stock sale of some (not all) of his Apple shares in the amount of $1,325,079. Mr. Bloch still owns at least $14,560,740 in Apple stock.
Jason Bloch has no other apparent source of income at the present time.
Oscar Rodriguez-Fonts has paid his Qualifying Fee.
His net worth is $24,000.
His salary comes from his work as a Circuit Court Judge. He is paid $161,688.
CAPTAIN JUSTICE .....

Crimey! If I were worth 74 million I wouldn’t be spending my time working as a circuit court judge.
Terrible. White men telling a woman she cannot run and be elected with the name of her husband and children. Sad. Truly sad.
There is a high level of incompetence when you apply for a job you do not do. Jean could had been an immigration judge. Back peddling and bring AJ is poor. She’s got to go.
Agreed and disagree. Look at the terrible appointments we have. Most purely based on skin color and not abilities. I just saw the Chaka one and I never knew there were so many Nigerians around. That might need an investigation. Delacy got in on race and deserves opposition.
Agreed on Barzee. It all depends on who you are. Bloch should be a man and run against Marcia Del Rey and not be a chicken. I remember his stump speech that she was a millionaire. Come on man!
Look at Judge Watson’s race. Granted Judge Watson has gone through a lot of staff and that is a tell tale sign of deeper issues. Anyway Brenda Guerrero is know as Brenda Gitchev Guerrero. That seems to be a problem.
Hispanic voters will turn out for Judge Cervera in even greater numbers than African-American voters turned out for Joe Biden, which in certain key districts was north of 108% of the registered African American voters!
Here are the true weak candidates in county court because data does not lie:
Julie Harris Nelson - Group 39
Chiaka Ihekwaba - Group 35
Miesha Shonta Darrough - Group 27
Ayana Harris - Group 3
Scott Janowitz - Group 42
Fred Seraphin - Group 5
This is a combination of factors. Janowitz has raised zero and has zero friends. He is toast.
Seraphin decided to slide and his court demeanor is now terrible. He used to be a bit nicer.
No one should be appointed on the basis of race. These ladies may be nice, but cannot win a county election as Anglos or Hispanics are not expected to win an election in North Miami, Miami Gardens, or NMB for which no black cries foul for under representation. The fact these new judges lack the skills to be on the bench is clear, but we won’t discuss.
This is about data. It is data and the reality of elections. Hispanics could not get elected in the past. Blacks neither. The black vote is less than 22% of the total vote of the county. Of which less than 3% normally shows.
Good for taught on data. Don’t believe me? Ask Renee Gordon. A perennial loser county wide.
Apple just beat earnings. Bloch will need to amend his filing to add a few million more to his net worth.
Thank you for defending yourself under Scoot’s name.
Democracy is about data and numbers. It is what it is. Appointments are about internal politics. It is what it is.
No one complaint when the bench was Anglo. Good judges have lost. Tough cookies. Fortunately this one is a bad judge learning state court law still.
Teressa Maria Tylman does not speak any Spanish. She is not hispanic and not from South Florida. She spent most of her life in Newport News, VA. A Spanish radio station is picking up this story and plans to interview judicial candidate Tylman now calling herself Cervera in Spanish. Time to sign up for duolingo courses and pronto. Someone is about to get a lesson in 'cultural appropriation'.
Apparently she has her real estate license and has been selling real estate since 2016 https://licensee.io/real-estate/3367507-cervera-teressa-maria-fl/
8:21 a.m., take the Martinez-Scanziani v. Rebull race out of that list. Both of them are Hispanic. Martinez is her maiden name and Scanziani is her married name. Her husband is also Hispanic (Uruguayan) of Italian ancestry. She didn't have to change anything because that's her legitimate Hispanic name and she was running against a Hispanic incumbent.
Thank you Judge Martinez-Scanziani for that clarification!
"Anonymous Real Fake Rosy Aponte" should be a guest blogger. Makes this blog much more enjoyable!!!
Maybe they use it since there is a bit company called Cervera group and well you know the names mean something.
I do not believe Teressa Tylman's financial statement reflects the mortgage she co-signed.
I see Judge Lody Jean everywhere and I am looking forward to seeing her opponent address a public forum. I would like to understand why she believes is qualified, changed her name when she did, and why she chose to opposed Judge Jean.
John Kozyak
Judge Lody Jean should not have gotten opposition! Opposition is for an incumbent who is failing in the duties as a judiciary; Lody Jean is not failing in her role! She is extremely qualified having been an ASA and division chief for many years and then going into private practice and learning the ropes on the “other side.” She takes her job extremely serious and to heart. She reads depositions, she pulls case law, she actually knows the case in front of her. She is also polite to all parties, she gives everyone their day in court and with professionalism she makes her ruling. When she has changed her ruling, it is because she has thought about it profusely and is not afraid of returning to the bench and changing her mind! Who wants a judge that is so egotistical and believes all the rulings are finite?
She also does not have to change her name in order to “fit” into the demographics of Miami, she IS part of Miami. She went to undergrad and law school in Miami and has lived in South Florida during her entire career. She has also been very involved with the South Florida community even when elections were not on the horizon.
Whoever stated she should be an immigration judge is just a blatant hater! Lody Jean practiced immigration law and did very well in that federal administrative forum also, but it doesn’t mean that she should stick to immigration, she was in criminal way longer than her years within the criminal/immigration forum.
I will support Judge Jean because this is what is best for the community! She has proven herself as a lawyer and as a judge. Judge Jean’s opponent has nothing to show for her 10+ years in the community; changing her name is only going to fool the uneducated voter.
I agree with other comments casting doubt on the net worth of Teressa Maria Tylman. I do not believe Tylman is earning a net $55,000 per year practicing law from her UPS Store PO Box for two clients as disclosed in her financial disclosure. In 2020 Teressa Maria Tylman, PA received a PPP loan (loan # Loan #1054317407) from The Cross River Bank in N.J.) of $7,958.00. According to the PPP guidelines, to receive $7,958.00 her income was, at most, $3,183 per month. That PPP loan, which apparently was forgiven, is probably Tylman's biggest payday in her 10 ½ year legal career. In addition to 'forgetting' to disclose her $380,000 home mortgage, Tylman reports no credit card debt or car loan debt ? The round numbers looked fudged. Who makes exactly $55,000 practicing law for themselves out of a UPS Store ? What law firm operating from a UPS Store, with two clients, and no staff is worth $100,000. Who came up with that $100,000 figure. At best Tylman real net worth is probably negative and she is underwater. Tylman is in this race for a substantial, underserved, pay raise at the expense of our judicial system. That her husband is the Chair of a Grievance Committee reflects very poorly on The Florida Bar and on The Becker & Poliakoff firm. Judicial elections have become a joke, in large part because of failed lawyers like Teressa Maria Tylman.
According to the PPP;
"PPP recipients in the legal industry report an average of 6 employees, 500% higher than Teressa Maria Tylman, PA's reported 1 employee, and received an average PPP loan of $81,669, 926% higher than this company's loan of $7,958.
In the Miami area, 403 businesses in the "Offices of Lawyers" industry received a PPP loan. These local businesses reported an average of 8 employees (compared to this company's 1) and received an average PPP loan of $111,692 (compared to this company's $7,958)."
Becker Polliakoff did a fundraiser for Lody Jean! Supposedly they told their “partner” to not have his wife run against Judge Jean! 🤣🤣🤣
The "uneducated voter" is the target market
Adam Cervera, Esq, the Becker & Poliakoff partner and husband of Tylman, has two reviews online on AVVO. They are quite a lovely couple https://www.avvo.com/attorneys/33134-fl-adam-cervera-3340131.html

This Attorney has a very cocky attitude and thinks he is sitting at the right hand of God, really likes to walk the line, he is exactly what lawyer jokes talk about. Heartless, careless and only out for himself. Litigation is his specialty and he will run over his mother to win. Be careful with him, stay away from him and his firm B&P not as prestigious as you may think.
Let's see if Tylman pulls an Aponte and does not show up to any of the forums/debates.
The range of opinions on the judicial candidates is terrific.
I make only one addition: I have used a private mailbox (such as Ms Tylman's) as my official Bar address for over 20 years, and have run a successful practice despite not having a "brick and mortar" office. I started to use it because I was representing prisoners, and wished to have a non-home address for them to write to. It is perfectly legitimate to do so. Many many businesses do this, it is not a practice limited to solo or small firms, whether made up of lawyers or doing some other kind of business.
But the rest of the criticisms, including those about her name, her husband's firm and his "service" on a grievance committee, are right on.
TYLMAN HIDES. The FACDL-Miami JUDICIAL CANDIDATES TOWN HALL was held on Tuesday, May 3rd, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Candidate Tylman (now Cervera for the election) was not at the forum. Her husband Adam Cervera a partner at Becker Poliakoff was not there. Tylman's campaign manager was not there and there was no one on her behalf. There were several 'observers' who chose to hide their ID and could not be identified during the forum. When questions were asked about integrity and using a new, different name, for election purposes, suddenly, two forum 'observers' who had hidden their identities from forum vanished. This is being looked into as the ID of a Zoom 'observer' can be ascertained via login information from Zoom. And, If one of the 'observers' was in fact a candidate hiding their ID, then this will be very valuable information for the voters.
You called it. Tylman was a no show.
...in comparison to Tylman a.k.a. candidate Cervera as pointed out a "no show," Judge Lody Jean did an excellent introductory speech and answered all questions on point, with professionalism and with a smile on her face- just like she does on the bench!
What a complete fraud this Tylman is. Tylman does not show up to a candidates forum, yet poor Tessa Tylman, who is afraid to face lawyers and voters and answer questions about her fraudulent financial disclosure, her failed career as a lawyer working out of a UPS PO Box, and her 11 different business addresses in 11 years as a lawyer, is the poor victim and claims, in the DBR article of today "It is disappointing that issues like this one are raised to distract residents from being able to learn more about me and the reasons why I am running for judge,” Cervera said in an email. Come out of hiding Tessa, let the sun shine in Tessa. Tell us about all your accomplishments. We are all ears.
You obviously don’t know Jason. He’s literally one of smartest people I’ve ever met. He’s kind and will help anyone in need pro bono. Unlike Oscar Rodriguez Fonts who sought and just received an endorsement from the Christian Coalition (after Roe v Wade was overturned) Jason has too much respect for the law to rule based on his religious beliefs.
Right so that should be an indication of how much reverence he has for the law. He could be off on island somewhere. Jason worked at the county for over 20 years when he obviously didn’t need to to. He worked until 8pm almost every day and would the only person left at the office. He’s been doing pro bono work for the last 4/5 years and volunteers on several boards.
He was just endorsed by the League of Prosecutors, United Teachers of Dade and plenty more. He’s the most fair jurist an unlike Rodriguez Fonts who was just endorsed by the Christian Coalition. There is also general consensus amongst attorneys that Rodriguez Fonts rulings are bad. Jason is not taking donations from attorneys. After what just happened in the Supreme Court, we need to be very careful who we elect.
So you haven’t read any of the research bout how she never used her married name until she decided to run? It’s obviously deceptive.

Newsflash we hispanic women change our last names! this post is insulting and racist to latina women just because all this hate I will vote for her!
