Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
Lots of good names that did not make that list. Why no Hanzman, Emas, or Gordo? Or even De la O or either Hirsch. Or Sayfie or Thornton. Zilber, why not Zilber? Is it because the Governor is going to appoint him as Chief Judge after Bertie?
Why do some people who get to the Supreme Court resign? Isn't it a dream job, the pinnacle, so prestigious.
In reality you will spend an inordinate amount of time on death penalty cases and writing or supervising the writing by clerks of those long super complicated death penalty opinion in the FLW. And some don't like living in Tallahassee or the kids/spouse don't like it. I think these are the reasons why one Miami sup.ct justice resigned after a few years and came back to Miami. Summary: spending 50% of your time on 20 year old death penalty cases ain't all its cracked up to be.
RUMPOLE - I follow your stock market picks every year and appreciate your analysis. I too like Amazon. Biggest holding. I’ll follow your advice and keep cash for a correction. I hope that geopolitical issues don’t cause more than a 20% correction. Happy New Year RUMPOLE and thank you for working so hard on this awesome blog. We appreciate you ...
I do not put up comments that mention someone's son or daughter, no matter how humorous it is intended to be.
What say you to what's on Markus's blog? Can Reizensten get that guy a pardon? Does he have that type of pull? (eyes opening ) That would be a surprise but the guy has always been industrious.
The guy gets defendants out after they have lost their trial and appeals. He took a guy who killed a cop off death row and got CTS. Yeah I think he can do this but there is really no proof he is trying to get a pardon for his client. That's where the story loses me.
He gets his guy a pardon and he jumps to the top tier of legal players in this town. This state. This country. That's juice with a capital J.
Maybe Phil will lead the impeachment defense
My guess its either Thomas or Trawick to replace Quince. Both are very qualified, but I think Thomas is more cerebral from my experience with both of these fine Judges.
check with the federalist society first.
Rump- Weinstein gets indicted in LA on the first day of his trial in NYC. In other words, he got Shumied, big time.
What do you make of this?
Nothing worse than getting shumied on your first day in trial. Been there....done that. sucks.
Both Thomas and Trawick would be fine picks. Both are good guys who make good decisions. Good luck guys!
So if Thomas gets picked, will he keep the justices there all night to force a decision?
This Supreme Court seat goes to Ray Takiff or Judge David Goodhart.
We need diversity on the bench.
Pardon me? Yes please.
Do not forget about Roy Gelber or Harvey Shenberg for the Supreme Court seat.
War inevitable RUMPOLE?
See the next post. But short answer no but also maybe
My prediction Thomas will not get it. To assume that a Prince in exile is passe without political power is a mistake too often made. Thomas made just such a mistake, so even if his name gets out, De Santis will not appoint him.
When was the last time there was an intellectual on the Florida Supreme Court?
