We do not often say nice things about prosecutors. But these ones at the SDNY quitting before following the orders of the Evil Sith Lord Emil Bove III to drop the charges against Adams The Hutt are heroes and this guy Scotten? He is great. Best letter we have read in a long time. And that last line in the penultimate paragraph? "But it never was going to be me."
F'ing perfect. Heroic. Hagan Scotten is THE MAN!
Love it.

---Longtime 305 defense atty David Macey indicted by the feds for bribery and wire fraud in the SDNY.
---Venzer refuses a 20 year negotiated plea for a shooting case and forces a trial. Case goes to trial and the defendant is found Not Guilty.
Kathy is ok. Her chiefs not so much. Mitchell thinks he’s a police chief.
I hope it’s Matt Gaetz
Macey indictment is a tragedy. I have no more to say about that. The Venzer fiasco? Tell me more. Send an email.

How does a chief of domestic violence miss a purse in a photo….and have to give a public apology. What an embarrassment for Rundle and the SAO. Incompetence again.
There you have it folks! Corruption isn’t the only affliction at the SAO. Incompetence is in lockstep.
It was cringey to see that ASA apologizing to the jury for missing a crucial piece of evidence in a crime scene photograph. That’s when you realized they lost the case. A moment that will long live in REG infamy.
If they lie about evidence that is caught on camera, imagine what they lie about that isn’t caught on camera. What an embarrassment for that office. Corrupt and incompetent.
Venzer rejected the 20-year deal because the alleged victim wanted a 25-year sentence.
David W. Marston (1942-2023) was a removed from his position as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 1978 by President Jimmy Carter. Trump is just following Carter's footsteps. Let's face it, the entire system is trash. Time to burn it down. Here are a few links for the peeps reading this blog who weren't around in 1978, or don't remember.

Hope you post this Rumpole, unlike my last comment you censored. (which is your prerogative, of course)
I’ve been saying that. Corruption and incompetence.
Re: David Macey, after carefully reading the lengthy story by Jay Weaver in the Herald: "Count 2 of every indictment is stupidity" Text messages? Really?!
Hindsight obviously 20/20 on this one. What's the right thing for judge to do if victim is in court and objecting to the negotiated deal? What's the SAO role in this?
Intentionally missed..perhaps? Win at all cost.
That’s why professional prosecutors do not let victims to run a case. They are emotionally attached and not capable of making a fair decision. Look at rhe Venzer case a different way. Say it was a first offense and what was a simple battery filed as a felony battery. And the victim wanted five years prison because she was angry at being dumped but at most the case was worthy of pti or a wh and six months probation. You going to let some emotional wacko wreck a person’s life because they are a victim? A victim calling the shots for punishment is not justice. It’s revenge. And we do not have a revenge system. We are supposed to have a justice system.
That’s so silly. No way. I’ll bet you a million dollars.
What an idiot
