ON THE OUTSIDE...LOOKING IN

UPDATE: WARD IS ROC'IN AND ROLLING. JUDGE WARD TO ROC COURT.

That's where the inhabitants of the REGJB will be when the 11th circuit gets around to electronic filing.

The Feds have electronic filing, and it actually works very well. Everything is on line and accessible.

And now that the 11th Circuit (Motto "Better late than never") is considering electronic filing, the first five divisions to get the system will all be in civil court.

Follow the money.

But what can Brown do for you? Why he said the other day at the FACDL Board meeting that he was considering lifting the ban on beepers in the building!!! Won't that make our life better?
Also he encouraged the FACDL to put more typewriters in the attorney's room so attorneys can bang out last minute motions. What a guy! The white-out is on him.

He also said he was thinking of giving defense attorneys access to something called "SPIRIT".
It has to do with traffic and county court. We think. Either that, or it has lascivious pictures of cheerleaders on line.

Judge Lopez is leaving ROC court and heading to civil. And who will replace him? We hear the infighting has been fast, furious, and vicious, with the email equivalent of elbows being thrown.

Judge Ward wants it. So do several others. Judge Diaz passed and will be going to family or civil. One Judge even promised to hold Arthur hearings within the first year of the arraignment if s/he was assigned to ROC court. WOW!

Of the five names that went to Governor Crist, Judge Brown confirmed that the eventual Circuit Court Judge will (be sentenced) assigned to the REGJB. Dopey, Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Doc and Clarence Thomas are all in the running.

Second week of the NFL coming up. Don't forget your suicide picks are sent to blogpool21 at gmail.com and go Fins as they travel to Minnesota, don cha know.

The Pope is a big believer in false confessions. Every so often one of his priests makes one.

Judge Ward is an evil and vicious woman. Send her to dependency.

How do you know this Rump?! Are you a member of the Board of Directors? Were you at the meeting? I'm confused (and now my head hurts).

Judge Diane Ward is one of the best judges on the bench-- she doesnt suffer fools, thats all. Love that she puts the list on her door for the trial order and holds us to it--she's smart, fair and cares about the public and the people that come in front of her

11:59, the answer is simple. Rump is clearly on the FACDL board.

Because the president of FACDL was nice enough to send all members a memo telling them what happened.

Rump may be on the board but, he also may have just read what I got.

Hmmmmm. Some of what Rump wrote was not in the memo.

Rump, you on the board?

7:33 You're an idiot and obviously don't realize the importance of Dependency Court and it's relation to criminal court, shame on you.

A defendant facing life in prison for armed trafficking in cocaine was acquited by a jury yesterday denying Judge Scola the opportunity to send another one away. Thanks to the efforts of court appointed attorney, Alan Soven, the 'cops are lying' defense (all 18 of them) prevailed.

Congratulations to Alan Soven for the big win. I have always admired his trial successes.

Ward will be a good fit for ROC court

Yes, congratulations to Alan Soven for working to smear the good names of lots of police officers and for letting another drug dealer get back to the business of killing young people. Wow, what a great career achievement.

Judge Ward was already doing ROC Court, she was a very strict judge and everyone knew her for it. Now she gets the named court for what she was already doing.

Can anyone tell me why ROC court needs two judges anyway? They each have approx. 250 cases. Combine them and the caseload is still lower than every other division. Ward is a waste in ROC court. We need her in division meting out fair sentences.

who is 5:23, John Rivera? asswipe!

Anonymous said...

5:23 P.M. obviously must by an ASA who spends his or her time indulging lying, piece of shit cops, who do everything that other crooks do, lie, sell drugs, steal money, beat people, but wear polyester blue when they do it.

I couldn't have been John Rivera. I saw him during that time at the stockade during two visitations.

12:39, 7:33 here. Obviously there is a connection. Would you rather have a judge who is just mean to people for no good reason in criminal? Personally, i would love her to stay in criminal because she is supremely intelligent and effecient. It is Ward's attitude that is the problem

5:23 gotcha where it hurts, huh. Why else the venom in the replies.

Alan Soven tried to steal a big colombian client from me some years back. i called him out on it. I dont trust him. he lucky he didnt catch a back hand! But congrats on your victory old man. Just get offa my cloud.

I'm of two minds re Judge Ward: she's indeed very intelligent and doesn't put up with crap. But her demeanor flat-out sucks. She's randomly nasty even when it's undeserved. Going into her courtroom is like bracing for battle - you never know when you're going to get slammed. If she were more pleasant (and yes, you can be a take-no-shit judge without being nasty), she'd be a pleasure to appear in front of. In any event, she's a great fit for ROC court.

I sure hope 5:24 and 7:41 (who represent the polar opposite ends of the spectrum in our community) gain some perspective as they gain some experience.

There's good and bad everywhere.........All of us (prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, cops, etc.) should be proud of the good work we do.

You can congratulate a defense attorney for a job well done without celebrating a dangerous offender's return to the streets.

And anyone who thinks all cops are bad have no business defending anyone anywhere.

There's good and bad in all professions. Just because we work in an adversarial system doesn't mean we have to trash each other like children.

Grow up guys.

If 12:14 A.M. believes that more than 50 percent of cops either do not do one of the following: beat people in custody without cause, steal money, plant or steal drugs, lie in court, or lie on arrest forms or alternatively witness a colleague doing that and not turn them in, then I hope that person is a prosecutor in ROC court. If he or she is a judge, he or she has no business being on the criminal bench bench. As one of the most distinguished appellate judges in Florida once said to one of that judge's circuit court colleagues: "One thing you learn at the gerstein Building is that all cops lie."

Is there any liberal commentator that ever compared a left-leaning justice of the Supreme Court to Dopey, Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, or Doc?

7:33, You are still and idiot and do not get it.
