First a quiz: Which south florida Judge has a street named after him/her? Could be Federal, state circuit or county or 3rd DCA.
Second: Last week we started a joke: "A priest, a rabbi, President Obama and one of the Federal Judges in Miami walk into Tobacco Road....."
As promised, the punch line is on David's federal blog. We're a guest blogger this week while he's on vacation. You should read our post before David sees it and removes it and revokes our blogging privileges. Nowhere else will you see such candid pictures of federal judges at parties.
Third: Our own Captain reported yesterday on those who filed to be appointed to Judge Esquiroz's seat. There were some new names including REGJB County Court Judge Beth Bloom, County Court Judge Norma Lindsey- formerly of the REGJB, and our own Richard Hersch- who if not appointed, has vowed to run under the slogan "One Good Hirsch deserves another." As always, we think the Governor should elevate Judge White-Labora who has done a magnificent job in drug court.
And now- some mid-summer poetry:
An Irish Airman Foresees His Death
I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.

Manny Crespo, after his death had a street named after him.
First. Ed Newman.
Newman. Although I just bought a nice 3/2 in Opa Locka on Peter Adrien Place.
The 3d DCA is on Barkdull Way.
Barkdull way
Hersch would be a great judge. He works hard and knows what he is talking about.
Peter Adrien place must be in the Opa Locka triangle. Just saying.
Retired County Judge Jack Block has a street named after him in South Miami. It is Mayor Jack Block Street, in honor of his service as S. Miami mayor.
Milton Hirsch the “good” Hirsch? Did you know Milt Hirsch has had three serious bar complaints in the last year alone? I heard one is now under investigation because he allegedly told a client to flee the country. If Hirsch did this, it should be good-bye to Hirsch and someone with more ethics should replace him on the bench in January.
