LIONS AT RAVENS & APPLE

We do not have a strong feeling on tonight's game. The Over 54 seems too high. We like the Lions +4.5 but only for a few bucks.

In the market today Apple soared over ten dollars after the demand for the iPhone 17 was record breakingly strong this weekend. The news out of China, where Apple has faced stiff competition for the last few years was even better, as demand was very strong and that did not include the surprise hit of the iPhone 17 Air which currently cannot be sold in China until the chip in the phone is approved.

All in all, Apple once again surprised critics by bringing a superior product to market and quieting the naysayers. And the ten-point run today occurred without any news about Apple's AI project which is not expected to be unveiled until 2026. Apple has been beaten up pretty badly for most of 2025 because of its perceived laggard performance in AI. And yet all they did was bring a fantastic series of new phones to the market. Faith in Apple has always been rewarded, even if sometimes it tests your patience. That is why we reiterate the maxim "Hold Apple; Do Not Trade It."

If Apple could surprise the market with the new iPhone 17, imagine what they are going to do when they do unveil their new AI next year.

And speaking of AI, Nvidia popped today when CEO Jensen Huang revealed a small 100 Billion (with a B) investment in Open AI.

These are amazing times we are living in. We are on the cusp of an AI revolution that will change nearly everything about how we live our lives, including how law is practiced, and how law firms are staffed (hint- current AI is replacing teams of first, second, and third year legal associates).

There's never been a better time to consider plumbing as a profession. Just sayin read the writing on the wall:

"AI WUZ HERE"

Rumpole … don’t you think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain wealth from buying Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, Google, Netflix, etc.?

Is it too late?

Having followed your blog for years, I have financially benefited to a great extent.

But - buy more? Trim back? Sell at a high?

Are there better opportunities in energy? Quantum computing? MLP natural gas pipelines? Real estate REITS? Home builders with interest rates declining? Emerging markets?

China?

How far can Nvidia possibly go?

I have never, in many years of criminal defense in Miami, experienced as much challenge in communicating with ASAs. It is regular for 8-10 emails to go unanswered, coupled with voicemails and messages left with assistants. The absolute only way to communicate with them is to appear in court and rush whatever communications in the 30 seconds between them entering data on their laptops and rushing to the podium. What's incredibly frustrating is a good amount of the time what i want to share will HELP them. We can resolve this case. We can take that one off calendar. This piece of evidence will finalize your filing decision, up or down. You have 200 cases - that sucks, I can for sure reduce that by one if you simply return an email. Either my guy gets the nolle prose, or we plea guilty to something. Im not wasting your time, promise!

Instead, we gather the whole world to take time off work and show up in court, only to approach the ASA in-person, say "Hey Im So-and-So", and see their eyes flinch quickly. "No... no... not your fault your fault, youre busy, etc., anyway lets have the convo now, so then we should ask for a reset and have to be here all over again in ten days."

I know the pay sucks. I know the morale is down. I know support is hard to find. But can Kathy not simply issue an order: Every ASA take 30 minutes before leaving work for the day, answer emails / return calls. Your senior supervisors will understand that other work will wait, because this task is critical to our office's efficiency, not to mention justice.

Can judges not simply give a divisional instruction? Give to the APDs too, I don't know. "If you appear on a case before me, you must commit to having answered opposing counsel within a week, maximum." Make them say that shit on the record... Do anything, but please fix this

I cannot begin to calculate the $$$ that would be saved by ensuring that this one thing works efficiently.

Drives me bonkers.

@2:14 your "problem" is approaching this issue as a normal human being interested in saving money and relieving suffering. DeSantis and his drones have another idea. DeSantis wants more judges, more prosecutors, more money, and more criminal cases to lock up more Americans to bolster his political standing. For DeSantis and his ilk, crime is always rampant and increasing, need more $$$ for more judges, new courthouses, build more prisons, an why not two-strikes-and-your-out, lifetime incarceration? Maybe one-strike-and-your-out for serious crimes, like criticizing Casey DeSantis and his $10 million dollars for her charity?
