The history of the United States is filled with great days. Lincoln at Gettysburg; Eisenhower and D-Day. VE day. VJ day. The invention of the Polio Vaccine by Dr. Salk.
But perhaps in the history of Human-Kind, July 20, 1969, will stand out as the greatest day of humanity. Led by the United States, and two courageous men. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. We landed and walked on the moon.
Stop for a moment and consider that again. Humanity, who once gazed across the seas and pondered what was on the other side, left Earth and landed on another Planet (yes the moon isn't a planet, but you get what we mean). We started off walking across the plains of Africa, crossing the ice bridge into North America. We conquered mountain ranges and deserts and oceans, and caves and the bottom of the sea.
And then we turned our gaze to the heavens.
It's hard to remember what a leader can do when s/he inspires instead of attacks. When s/he unites instead of divides.
But that's what occurred in May, 1961, when President Kennedy challenged a nation to put a man on the Moon by the end of the decade.
We did it.
It was our greatest accomplishment. Our greatest day. America's greatest day. Humanity's greatest day. Because we came for all mankind.
So here is the landing, with all the drama of the 1201 and 1202 alarms. And listen closely as they are landing, to the "60" second and then "30 second" calls. That's mission control telling Armstrong how much fuel he had left and it's why after the Eagle landed CapCom responded with "you got a bunch of guys about to turn blue here." They were holding their breath praying that Apollo 11 didn't run out of fuel.
This is the MC loop so you can hear the comments between the men at Mission Control and Apollo 11.
Astronaut Charlie Duke, who later walked on the moon during Apollo 16 is Capcom for the landing. He is the only one talking to the Eagle.
The legendary Gene Kranz, who also was the hero for Apollo 13, was the flight director for the landing. You will hear him talking in the loop to his controllers.
Here are some key moments:
6:10: they were given "GO" to continued PD (powered descent).
7:29: The 1202 alarm and by 7:50 MC had determined they were 12:02 alarm.
10:58 the historic "GO/NO GO" for landing.
11:06: Kranz tells Capcom they are GO for landing.
11:08: Duke tells Eagle they are GO for landing.
11:20: Within a second after acknowledging they are GO for landing Armstrong notes a 1201 alarm.
12:20: There is an "attitude hold" as Armstrong at around 500 feet from the surface is actively looking for a landing spot. He is now manually piloting Eagle.
12:25: Kranz tells his team that the only call-outs will be remaining fuel. From this point forward you hear Aldrin calling out the speed and altitude as Armstrong looks to land the Eagle.
When people talk about American Exceptionalism, this is what they should be talking about. Kranz has enough faith in his men to let them do what they are trained to do. Armstrong is arguably the best pilot in the world, and all the training is now paying off as he is flying around large boulders, looking for a place to land, with just two minutes of fuel. Aldrin is cool as can be, giving Armstrong velocity and altitude and rate of descent. This is teamwork at its finest.
13:35: First fuel call: "low level".
13:47: 5% of fuel.
13:57 60 seconds of fuel. Listen how cool Kranz is as he relays this information.
13:59: Duke, with a little more urgency in his voice tells Eagle they have 60 seconds of fuel remaining.
14:16: They are soooo close. Aldrin notes that they are "kicking up some dust".
14:21: A controller tells Kranz they have 30 seconds of fuel.
14:28: Duke tells Eagle they have 30 seconds of fuel left.
14:37 Aldrin calls out "Contact light!". The probe of the lander has touched the surface of the moon. The men now quickly go through their landing checklist. It's fascinating to hear.
14:59: From Tranquility Base, perhaps the most historic words ever spoke in the history of the English Language "The Eagle Has Landed." And Duke responds about a "bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again."
15:50: Kranz is still all business while everyone around him is going crazy and he calls for a T1 "Stay/No Stay".
This is historic footage. Watch and listen to it all. It's worth it.
This is American Exceptionalism. Not some nonsense about trade tariffs and who pays more for NATO. This is the real stuff Americans are made of. And we shall return.

To this point Mueller hasn't presented evidence of collusion. We didn't even know if he *thought* there was collusion. But the page fisa applications are stunning on one unreported point: one warrant states that the FBI "believes" Russia's effort to influence the 2016 election was "coordinated" with page. Wow! I've been a collusion skeptic, but at least we know what the FBI *thinks.* Given this bombshell, they surveil the guy for a full year and he's not in handcuffs? Wonder what the FBI thinks now. In other words we know they got 4 warrants. Did they ask for #5? If they chose not to seek #5, why? If this all ends with page never being charged, after FBI telling fisa he was a foreign agent violating criminal law 4 times, what a sham.
Is it me or is Judge Mike Hanzman and Judge Al Milian the same person? Twins?

Collusion is right in front of your face. The number one foreign policy goal of the Kremlin is the elimination of NATO. Little Donnie is all over that. There is nothing Putin wants more than a weak Europe, and Trump is doing his bidding. If you can't see evidence of collusion, you are not opening your eyes.

The page fisa application is absurd in that it discloses fbi payments to and reliability of Steele. Who cares about that? He was only a secretary, who paid Russian and other sources, and wrote what they told him (or wrote what one person heard from another). Why does the FBI not disclose what they know, if anything, about steele's sources? Totally absurd! Did any of the fisa judges not catch this or just didn't care?
For the blind partisans in the crowd that remain convinced that the Mueller investigation is some kind of democrat which hunt and a sham, here are some facts:
The investigation has thus far resulted in:
- 32 people and 3 entities charged with crimes;
- 187 criminal counts pending or already plead guilty (plus at least 23 counts dropped after a defendant agreed to cooperate);
- 6 people have plead guilty (including Michael Flynn, a former 3 star general and National Security Advisor)(the irony that Gen. Flynn once led "lock her up" chants is not lost on me);
- 1 person has served time and then been deported; and
- 4 of the indicted worked directly for or advised Mr. Trump's presidential campaign.

As for the purportedly partisan flavor of this investigation, give me a break. Let's do a quick recap of Robert Mueller's resume:
- Life long Republican, described in 2001 by the Chicago Tribune as a "conservative republican". See http://www.chicagotribune.com/sns-fbi-story,amp.html
- Served as a Marine Corps officer during the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V" for heroism and a Purple Heart;
- Appointed Acting USDA for the Dist. of Mass by Pres. Reagan;
- Appointed Deputy Attorney General by Pres. Bush to serve under John Ashcroft;
- Appointed as FBI Director by President Bush;
- Appointed to his current role by Rod Rosenstein (a Republican appointed by Pres. Bush to be USDA for the Dist. of Maryland and a current Pres. Trump appointee);
Is this the resume of a democrat running a partisan sham investigation? I'm not saying Trump is going down or even that Pres. Trump "colluded" with the Russians. That said, the word "collusion" doesn't appear in the Order appointing Mueller to conduct the investigation, and the Order does not specifically target Mr. Trump. Instead, the Order describes an investigation into:
(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian Government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump;
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and
(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 CFR 600.4(a)
Pretty broad stuff. And thus far, the investigation seems to be proving very successful in meeting its goals (see first set of statistics at the top of this comment).
9:12 is correct. Not quite sure why MAGA obsessed with legality of FISA warrants (issued by 4 Republican judges): Steele was a reliable source, DNC financial support for his report (of which he was unaware) disclosed to judges. If surveillance of Page didn't turn up evidence of a crime, why do you keep whining about it? It's deflection. Can't see why Trump's otherwise inexplicable selection of Manafort, Page and Papadopolous is a tell? Especially when combined with his attacks on his own intelligence services, his refusal to turn over his tax returns, and his obeisance towards Putin's agenda, at the expense of ourselves and our allies? (Tariffs, Article V??)
If you can't allow yourselves even to acknowledge the possibility of Trump's coordination with Putin to get himself elected, you are hopelessly lost to reason. You sound like a battered spouse continuing to make excuses for her husband.

My friend you are missing the point here. Mueller can indict 100 Russians on 200 charges each. This is *absolutely* supposed to be about collusion.
Steele is a reliable source? So he can write down what others tell him without getting mixed up? Who cares? He didnt witness anything in the dossier. The real question is if his paid Russian and other sources are reliable.
By your logic, next time doj needs a warrant for a drug case, we can just have the source be a priest who goes out and walks the streets seeking rumor and innuendo from a bunch of liars, then he compiles what he hears, the we have priest as the source in an affidavit and point out that he is relaible.. presto!

On December 1, 2017, special counsel Robert Mueller agreed to a plea bargain where Gen. Flynn pleaded guilty to "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia's ambassador. Specifically, Flynn is accused of falsely claiming that he had not asked Russia's ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak on December 29, 2016, "to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day."
Gen. Flynn is a person associated with the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump. Gen. Flynn's conduct at issue relates directly to coordination with Russia. Gen. Flynn was convicted of a crime in connection with his efforts to coordinate with Russia.
Dead on balls accurate - the scope and function of the Mueller probe in action.
9:04 and 8:46 - what are you so afraid of? why does surveillance of a suspected Russian agent make you apoplectic? if trump didn't collaborate with russia to interfere on his behalf in the election, then you have nothing to worry about.
Do you seriously think that our intelligence agencies are attempting a coup? That's the only reasonable explanation for your apoplexy.
Flynn did not lie about coordination with Russia. He lied about whether he **talked** to Russia about sanctions before the inauguration. Big difference. But I'll keep an open mind to see what everyone says at sentencing. I'm guessing he is not a traitor, but I confess I don't know if he is.
I truly love when libs use the "If they are innocent they have nothing to worry about" defense. It must feel so backwards for them to say that. But hey, trump.
