THUNDER ROAD

Sometimes when the stock market is falling,  the president is doing something moronic again, deadlines to file motions are coming due and past-due, clients are calling and emailing and texting non-stop, and a judge who hasn't read case law since "walkin" Lawton Chiles was governor of Florida denies your motion, you just need a little of The Boss.

Is there any more poetic rock song than Thunder Road?

"You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain
make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain
for a savior to rise from these streets
Well now I'm no hero, that's understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window and let the wind blow back you hair...

From. Thunder Road, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.

The judges don't read cases? How about the lawyers? Most motions were written two years after the lawyer began practicing criminal.

By the way, the moronic president has done great things for the economy and unemployment and even Cry Baby Chuck likes the tariffs on China (make sure you re-program your progressive diatribe for that one new line). If only Trump could get the North Korea thing right so that Cry Baby Chuck didn't have to say, "like they say in Texas . . . lots of cattle but no hat."

12:59 - I am so excited by the prospect of a trade war with our allies and China, it's hard to contain myself. And what a tough negotiator domestically: ripping children from their parents at the border until the democrats cry uncle and approve the money for a wall that even republicans say is unnecessary. Then he can have his wall and the children will be let out of prison. As far as improving the economy, I haven't met a single working stiff who's doing better now than when Trump took over. And I know plenty of working stiffs. Yes, wealthy and ultra-wealthy people are doing better, so he is helping people, despite what the democrats say. You know what else he's doing as a master negotiator: He's deliberately destroying Obamacare because Congress wouldn't. That'll show 'em. He still knocks John McCain, that schmo, for taking the bullet on that one. I also admire his tone and am pleased to see it mimicked by his people. (Yes, he calls Americans 'his people,' in bemoaning the difference between N. Korea and here.) He models bullying, cutthroat conduct, anti-intellectualism, anti-empiricism and sexual assault. I hope all our kids (except those little aliens in prison) are paying close attention because that will help them contribute to the collaborative, sensible, informed and fact-based citizens we used to cultivate until Obama came along and broke everything.

Can't understand why Springsteen is lauded as a lyricist.
