SHUTDOWN AND SHUT OUT

BREAKING REGJB NEWS:

The attorneys parking lot is closed. Rumors abound.

Some say a car hit and killed a pedestrian early this morning.

Other's say a bondsman was offering referrals and a pile-up among eager defense attorneys rushing to get business occurred.

And still others say it was just the line to (fill in the judge you like least here)'s courtroom.

More details as they emerge and as WIOD used to say: Bulletins at once.

I heard that it was a suspicious package.

Whatever...

I'm pretty sure that it was Judge Emas's ego that got loose and was running amok again, what with the vacancy on the Supreme Court and all, it's a tough time to keep hi ego in check.

Last I heard they used a taser on the runaway ego and it was resting comfortably in the back of a fire rescue truck until Emas arrived to take possession of it.

Where is the attorney's parking lot and how do you get to park there? I have never heard of such a thing.

Frequently I find myself running late for the judges that are on time and on-time or early for the judges that are an hour late.

Can you all chime in and list the judges that are always late and/or how late we are talking about?

It seems like you need to wear a robe for your time to be precious...which is completely backwards since they are salaried and our livings depend upon our availability.

The Captain Reports:

North of the Border .....

A real shame to see the newest incumbent Judge that has opposition. Judge Elijah Williams has drawn an opponent - Alan B. Schneider, 18 year attorney, who does real estate work (I believe).

Williams now joins a total of 17 (and counting) contested judicial races in Broward County. Nine are in Circuit and 8 are in County Court.

Interesting tidbit; Judge Cheryl Aleman, whose term expires this year, has not filed yet - but attorney Sandy Perlman has - and no one else has filed in that division.

Could Perlman avoid a contested election and win that seat without facing the voters. We will know in the next 15 days.

Cap Out ....

No judge is as late and as often as Pando was when she was at the RGB. In fact, her bailiff actually had pre-made signs which he kept in the office announcing that she would be there at various times. The SAO was so upset (because victims and witnesses often left and because it was such a waste of everyone's time) that they tracked it until she left for branch court.
