Anyone want to live blog the interviews? They are open to the public, donchaknow.
BENCH AND BAR MIXER
There's a Bench and Bar mixer at some bar on October 6, 2011. Besides the fact that we don't associate with persons of low moral character (or is that "low morale character"?) there is the issue for our Bar members of the 12 tribes of Israel: October 6 happens to be gob smack in the middle of the high holy days observed by the more Jewish members of our legal community, and day before the beginning of two days of observance, prayer, introspection and one day of fasting.
Not really the brightest or culturally sensitive decision to throw a soiree' in the middle of ten days of solemn introspection.
Be it resolved that we, Rumpole, do hereby highly pledge to avoid bench and bar mixers, and the denizens who habituate them, for the following year. (Better to forsake that then the alcohol served at such assemblies or rendezvous's.)
Enjoy the weekend, get your suicide pool picks into the proper and correct email address.

Rumpole I've taken you up on your offer and decided to drive by downtown to the scene of tomorrow's exciting JNC interviews. There is already a small crowd camped out in front of the building, most are in line to get a good seat for tomorrow's actions. Every now and then a "Just say NO to joe" chant softly erupts from the crowd. There's a smattering of Kellie Peterson fan club t-shirts, as well as some "fire joe" t-shirts and one very funny "my mom and dad went to miami and got fired by joe george" t-shirt." The prevailing mood is one of quiet optimism as someone has brought a digital clock with a big countdown to 2:30 Monday when it is rumored the governor will make his announcement.
That's all for now. I'm going for a coffee and donut but I will be back early tomorrow morning to cover the arrival of perhaps the most hated man in the REGJB.
Good morning Blog readers!!!! I arrived bright and early outside the swanky offices where the JNC is meeting today and already there is a festive atmosphere.
T-shirt hawkers have set up kiosks where people can buy shirts representing any spectrum of their feelings. As I wrote last night the "Fire JOE" T-shirts appear to be the most popular while the "4 more years!" shirt with a picture of the diminutive Regional Counsel smiling on the back has not sold at all.
There is a fake alex michalels walking though the crowd muttering "dis is bullsheeet" between spouts of yelling "you're fired" and of course there are more than a few Donald Trump imitators yelling his patented slogan as well.
The next big event is the arrival of the man of the hour, expected shortly before 9 am. The hottest rumor is that because Joe George tried to fire most of the employees of the state that he has requested federal marshals to provide security to escort him from his limo into the building. And yes Joe has found the room in the budget for a limo to and from work now that the salary needs of his office are a bit less than they were a month before.
More soon.
RUMP!!! Did you know Zenobi and George were scheduled back to back by the JNC at 9 and 9:20? ??? Someone on the JNC has a sense of humor. Both men showed up around the same time and boos (for George) and loud cheers (for Zenobi) broke out among the crowd. Joe George scurried into the building looking down and wearing a dark pair of sunglasses. The crowd tried to raise a large chant of "just say no to Joe" but the others cheering for Zenobi sort of canceled out the cheers.
Zenobi entered with an air of confidence, waiving and stopping to chat with a few supporters and shaking hands and accepting the general well wishes of the crowd before confidently striding off into the building.
The crowd was enthused and we all could not help wondering that when we wee Joe George slink out will we be seeing the last of the diminutive dauphin of RC3?
Neither funny not interesting.
The truth of the matter is that JG didn't even respect the committee enough to show up. He literally phoned it in. Mr. Fire em all decided that with his office in turmoil, it was the perfect time to go on a month long vacation. WHen the committee changed the new date JG decided his vacay was more important than his job so he thumbed his nose at the JNC. Today they will thumb it back.
Not everyone. I chuckled once or twice.
Also you gotta like the "diminutive dauphin of RC3" tag laid on JG. Nice turn of the phrase.
I LOVE that JPG didn't show for the JNC hearing. It shows such elegant disdain for the committee. It's a clear statement that "you need me more than I need you." JPG is clearly the James Bond of Regional Counsel's.
Say what you want, but the man has style and style to spare.
Are you sure Joey boy is on vacay? I thought I saw him plowing through a pile of Kimmchee at my fav Beach Korean joint last night as if he didn't have a care in the world.
Huh? Please enlighten us Rumpole --- How exactly does one NOT show up for a JNC interview and expect to maintain employment. Oh wait -- Rick Scott has the final word. Never mind.
I saw JPG at Lucky strike bowling on the beach. He is an ace roller in a Friday night lawyer's league. Never leaves a 7-10 split.
Let's go back to the pre-wheel appointment system.
still need Basco & Plea D's picks from week two; are they in or out
Basco picked Steelers last week, Plea D picked Lions, issue right now is whether Juan Gonzalez sent in a pick. The Judges are huddling and a replay ref has been called in.
