David Ovalle, one of the finest crime reporters in the nation misses nothing. Thus this tweet on breaking news in Miami's historic criminal courts. The Courts which tried Ted Bundy and Giuseppe Zangara (the putative assassin of Franklin Roosevelt as he toured Miami on Biscayne Boulevard) and many others now faces this uniquely 2021 issue. The news broke today, and while it is not Lee Bailey's cross in the OJ Case, or Roy Black in the William Kennedy Smith case, it merits nonetheless coverage as breaking news.

A guy was just shaving his eyebrows during a Zoom hearing in Miami criminal court. Judge de la O said something like "that's a first."

Better yet, I saw a woman bare chested with a baby in her lap waiting her turn to talk with Judge Wolfson. When she called the case, she notice the bare chest and politely asked the woman to go put something on and return. Wolfson is a class act.
Today in Venzer:
Same prosecutor who cause a big blow up with Tinkler Mendez was called a "Dweeb" by a defendant. Same ASA who Tinkler Mendez threw out of her courtroom, said he was in bad faith and who Tinkler is filing a Bar complaint against. Yup, that guy.
Same defendant said his male lawyer was "sassy, like a girl."
Yup this client was sent away and restored to competency.

On a side note, what is this that I'm hearing about a county court judge issuing warrants for represented defendants who don't appear at arraignment?!
Zangarar was not the putative assassin of FDR- he tried and missed FDR, killing the mayor of Chicago, Anton Cermak.
Don't know why a woman should be forced to stop nursing her child to appear in court.
Yea, I heard that rumor too. Who is the idiot issuing warrants at arraignment when a lawyer files a written plea in advance?

Oh no. In a Miami Zoom hearing, and the judge called a case, and suddenly someone was clearly in the middle of an argument and yelled out ""we talkin' about the two bumps on my penis right now!"
