Imagine if this "unspeakable tragedy" had not occurred forty-five years ago this Monday night- as announced by Howard Cosell on Monday Night Football as a college freshman Rumpole watched in shock and sadness.
When you see something that is not right, not fair, find a way to get in the way and cause trouble. Congressman John Lewis

There is no way that you are approximately 63. My over under is 70. Your stock portfolio must be through the roof to retire now.
Talk about burying the lede. 3 plays, no video reviews, no tv timeouts. What sport is this?
lol. What makes you think I started college when I was 18? And as to my portfolio ? I could have retired ten years ago. Apple. Microsoft. ETF Voo. Voov. Selling covered calls for 20 years on apple and Microsoft as the stocks rose and rolling that cash into etfs. Please. I started investing when I was 20. The miracle of compound interest. Google what you get if you started saving $100 a week when you were 18 and just dumped it into an s&p etf. Granted back then it was mutual funds. But the principle is the same.
I don’t think the murder of John Lennon hit me until years later. As I got older I felt his loss more and more. What a genius he was.
Imagine that the only Muslim on the bench in the entire state of FL (right here in MD county court) is a member of CAIR, who DeSantis just declared a foreign terrorist organisation.
Rump, perhaps unintentionally, makes a very good point. Many historical events become so not when they happen but later on via the rear view mirror. In1980, Lennon had receded as a musical icon and was more known for supporting the NYC police department and laying the groundwork for a mayoral run. The man who epitomized the counter cultural ethos was morphing into an early version of Rudy Giuliani. And most MNF viewers, upon hearing the news, wondered, "oh yeah, I remember him from the Ed Sullivan show." Like MLK and RFK, his fame magnified after his death. The Beatles' music stood the test of time and along with that, John Lennon's memory. RIP to a great one.
As I got older I found more meaning in his words and songs. I have zero memory of Lennon becoming political, much less on the political right. I don’t think that is correct. Can you support that at all ?
