That's nice but Churchill would have voted trump

Aileen Cannon to the Supreme Court. Thomas will retire. A 55 member Senate majority will approve everyone that Trump picks.

No matter what.

Just wait to see his pick for US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

You will be shocked. I already know and this will be a no plea and toughest sentencing prosecutor (from private practice) that you will have ever seen.

Good luck. Find a new profession now folks. The new Feds will be coming after you all on fees and money laundering and other practices. File a clean tax return this year!

Last time I visited this site you posted something about how you would support "a Republican like Romney". I replied in a comment about how ludicrously untrue this was - a comment you spiked and never approved. Fair enough, your blog.

But I checked back in today to see if you have engaged in any critical thought or self-reflection after nearly every county in the US moved rightward (toward fascism!!) in a sweeping rejection of your politics.

Guess not.

Your 21st C Obama coalition is destroyed. It's game over. Its dying breath was spent in praise of Liz Cheney. Its last achievements are two raging wars. Its biggest social advancement was on behalf of literal transvestites.

You write and apparently daydream a lot about great moments in 20th C history. Youve had a front row seat to living, breathing history in the here and now - but you've misunderstood it all. Your limited category of thought (racist! sexist! fascist!) is hoisted on its own petard as the Trump coalition grew more hispanic, more african american, more female, and most importantly -- younger.

See you in '28.

Obama the divider in chief? It’s his fault the country is so divided. It’s his fault you have ANTIFA it’s his fault I got stuck on I95 while protestors blocked the highway because some homeless fent head was shoplifting.

Excellent Fernandez-Barquin is a Republican.

Anonymous said...

Barquin was not re-elected. He was appointed and now elected. He is the only Republican I have ever voted for. He seems to be doing a good job,

What’s the news on MVZ’s students that remain at the SAO?

The Trump haters went too far and as a result have ushered in a period of almost complete power for Trump. He has the Supreme Court , Congress and the Executive. Next time you think it is a good idea to prosecute your political enemies in the United States- think again.

Thank you Captain.

Some additional details. The Sun-Sentinel tried to misrepresent my qualifications during their analysis back in the Primary Election. I told them I handled civil cases and workers compensation cases in Broward during my first year as an attorney. I also told them that I handled executive assignment cases as an ASA, going to Broward when their local prosecutors conflicted off certain cases. The Sun-Sentinel chose to write none of what I told them about that, and wrote an article saying, "Clermont lives in Davie, but has not worked or practiced in Broward courts, a qualification that voters might reasonably expect." Organizations who were all but committed to Stark repeated this nonsense in judicial forums, asking, "Why should Broward county voters vote for a candidate who knows nothing about Broward courts and hasn't worked in Broward courts as the Sun-Sentinel reported?"

After answering the questions and returning to sit at a table of potential Tamarac voters, the residents said to me, "Why do they keep asking you unfair questions about things we don't care about?" Many Miami-Dade residents work in Broward or Palm Beach. Many Palm Beach residents work in Miami-Dade or Broward. Many Broward residents work in Miami-Dade or Palm Beach. Still, the Sun-Sentinel had one job, and they were not backing down from it.

I replied, "Because the fix is in. But I am not giving up." Nearly every organization endorsed Stark, and almost all slammed their doors on me, despite having worked 10 years in insurance claims before becoming an attorney, and more than 20 years as an attorney. Including the offer of a 5-year appointment as a Special Assistant United States Attorney by US Attorney Markenzy Lapointe in January of this year, after passing an FBI investigation.

The Sun-Sentinel endorsed Stark implying he was more qualified than I. Even though he was only 9 years an attorney at the time, and spent 7 of those years working for his father's firm. He called himself a "traffic magistrate" routinely, claiming he was practically a judge already. I wrinkled my nose, having served 6 years on the Traffic Court Rules Committee, and wondering which rule he was citing to, claiming he is a magistrate - news flash, it isn't in the Traffic Rules of Court. He also liked saying, "It's quality not quantity, let's not overvalue the years of experience simply based on the numbers."

Whereas I served as a Medicaid hearing officer, all of my decisions of which were appealable to the District Court of Appeal (DCA) within 30 days, which I had to include at the bottom of each 20-30 page final order I was required to write by administrative rule for every final hearing.

The Sun-Sentinel wrote on July 4, 2024, "In the Aug. 20 primary for an open seat in Broward County Court Group 10, all three candidates are qualified by education and experience. On balance, we recommend Samuel Ford Stark".

They continued to write articles claiming I was way behind, and sympathetic to Sam, moaning that Stark did not achieve 50% + 1 vote, to knock me out of the August election. So they continued to repeat the nonsense that he would easily best me in the General Election and repeat his results. The deal was already done.

And yet I achieved 367,576 votes, as Steve Bousquet and Daniel Sweeney were struck with a moment of random violent fecal incontinence, and voided their bowels.* Beating the young treasured darling of the Sun-Sentinel by 59,617 votes. 8.82 (round up to 9) percentage points. See https://enr.electionsfl.org/BRO/3746/Summary/.

I will serve the citizens of Broward County with integrity, honor, and respect for the canons. Thanks for listening.

Woody Clermont

Cultural change is afoot. The shaming language of calling Trump supporters fascist, or racist, or sexist are over. Sure the Democrats still try to do this, however, their words have lost all meaning. This election is a complete rejection of the Democrats social and political values. For the last 4 years I've watched the mass illegal immigration and got called a racist for raising a concern and have gotten called a bigot for pointing out that men cannot become women. Mind you this all coming from people who believe they are morally superior because they post their gender pronouns on their instagram or zoom. Every time I see an attorney or judge in court who has done this I have a good chuckle to myself. The feminists told me that men were toxic they didn't need men, except they did need me and I should vote based solely for them to have the "right" to kill their unborn babies. The democrats have lost touch with reality. Time to bring sanity back.

I’m going to an immigration law seminar next week. With the coming concentration camps and mass deportations Trump will be making me a whole lot of money.

Can’t wait to relive the halcyon days of 2020. The time of disease, disorder and death. Remember when unemployment was at 15%, cops were murdering black men on national television with resulting worldwide protests and we had wonderful deflation? Can’t wait for the daily absurdities and the endless tweeting and golfing. A true leader will return to the White House and lead us right back to the 6th rung. Mark the tape, I hope I’m wrong.

All of that, yes. And, you voted for a felon who attempted a coup - because you don't like being called a sexist or a racist (by the way, I agree with you that if you were born with a penis, you can never be a woman). If Trump gives up office willingly in four years, this will just be a blip. The pendulum swings this way and that way.

But remember, it wasn't "democrats" calling Trump a fascist, it was John Kelly, a Republican, 4 star general, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Trump's on-time Chief of Staff. It was also Mark Esper, a Republican and Trump's one-time Secretary of Defense. It was JD Vance, Trump's current VP-elect (he conveniently stopped doing it when there was something in it for him). Don't fool yourself.

As for your unborn babies comment, 57% percent of a now very red state Florida voted in favor of a pro-choice amendment. This election wasn't about cultural shifts. It was about inflation. It's the economy, stupid.

Dr. Roger Gewold asked this question in his interview on Sky News Australia: Why is Biden still allowed to be president, given his obvious dementia? Kamala Harris should become president on July 21, 2024 under the 25th amendment after Biden dropped out of the race. Then she would have had the strategic advantage of running the country and being the incumbent against Donald Trump, able to make her own policy decisions to persuade voters. Dr. Gewold suggests they were afraid Harris would screw up before the November 5th election.. How telling is that observation? Who is actually running the country now?

I voted for Hilary in 2016, Biden in 2020 and for the pro choice amendment. I don't care that I was called those things, only that it was their attempt to shut down any rational conversation about the issues. Dems didn't want to have those conversations, fine, we've had the conversations without them and the American People have spoken.

@5:56, I mean this in the most disrespectful way possible: shut up.

Thank you everyone on your well wishes. Yes the State Attorney's Office treated me like absolute dirt except for Deisy Hernandez who was an exception. And when I was willing to let bygones be bygones, they treated me like dirt again unwilling to let bygones be bygones. Thank God, for their ruthless consistency. Everything happens for a reason. Rejection is truly protection - I went on to do amazing things elsewhere because of how poorly they treated me. I therefore humbly thank Chiefs like Arrojo, Horn, and the others for their awful conduct, because it took me to exactly the great workplaces that amplified and recognized my talents, rather than defecate on them.
