I read the P. Diddy sealed indictment. Ridiculous theory to paint his sex life, no matter how deviant it may be, as a RICO charge. Overcharged. Let them concentrate on corruption in NY and investigate the Mayor and his no bid contract allegations. Plus - if all the sex acts were CONSENSUAL - and no minors - why is it illegal Rumpole??
Wrong. The purpose of bail is to insure the accused's presence at trial. Innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately, these principles of due process went out the window long ago. What does a remand order accomplish that a home confinement order and ankle bracelet could not. Nothing.
All that money, he beat a previous serious criminal case and he is in this predicament. I don't know if that video is part of this case but that video clearly shows this guy is a horrible, savage animal.
He is an arrogant ass who thought he was invincible. The video that was released of him savagely beating his ex, Cassie Ventura was horrific and there is no excuse. He first denied any allegations of any type of abuse until the video came out and then issued an apology which was nothing but a PR stunt where he painted himself as the victim. Read the indictment including the indictment from Cassie Ventura's lawyers. It will make anyone's stomach churn, the abuse she suffered to a hotel security guard informing police Diddy offered him 50K to destroy the hotel security cameras. He is a monster, ppl have known about his predatory behaviour for years. There is an old video resurfacing now where TV host Charlamagne tha God was talking about staying away from a "person who shall be nameless but is known to be the King Of Hamptons" for his White Party due to some of the disturbing things he had seen. Google it, you will see he was referring to Diddy. To the all the women who have suffered any type of abuse, to all the people he intimidated, I hope he gets life. He and R. Kelly can live the rest of their lives in prison
How do you know the sex acts were consexual? He said the same thing when it came to his ex Cassie Ventura as well. Did you read the indictment on that, where it details drugging her up so badly into having sex with multiple strangers while she was being filmed and he was getting off it. Then later giving her IV fluids to clear out her system. This is how sick he is.
If he remains on his bail he will continue to intimidate witnesses as he has done in the past. He isnt above the law. The judge made the right decision. as for innocent until proven guilty-- bro, this is the same guy who denied, denied, denied any allegations of abuse and vowed to fight all charges and went on a public rant on how he is innocent and never touched his ex, Ms. Cassie Ventura when she decided to sue him and yet less than 12 hours later he settled the case. And still was denying any wrong doing until the leaked "hotel video" of him beating and the kicking the crap out of her became public. He is another Epstein, Weinstein and R. Kelly wrapped all in one. Anyone defending this piece of crap needs their head examined. He is done. He is over. Kudos to Ms. Ventura for being so brave in coming out with her story which opened the doors to all the others who then came forward with their story.
3:12 p.m., I did not write the comment about Diddy being a "horrible, savage animal" and I am not a prosecutor, but any man who does that to a woman is a horrible, savage animal. These are not prosecutorial-leaning opinions. Not sure if you are a parent, especially of a girl, but any parent (defense lawyers included) whose daughter is treated that way will likely call their aggressor that and worse.
We criticize some prosecutors for being so blinded by their pursuit of convictions that they can't be objective, yet we give them fuel to say the same thing about defense lawyers when we can't call this monster for what he is (even when this is clearly a personal opinion) or when we suggest that this personal opinion can only come from prosecutors. Come on!
If you can't call Diddy any names for what he did to that poor woman, that's your choice. But to suggest that only prosecutors are capable of calling him a horrible, savage animal (which implies that prosecutors' nature is to be mean and unfair, overly-judgmental, etc.) is not only naive, it also puts you in a similar category: that you're incapable of calling someone for what they are simply because that's a defense lawyer's nature. Again, come on!
He is a human. That kind of language degrading a person or persons to subhuman status is a large part of what is wrong with our political discourse today. He may or may not have done horrible things, but if so, they were horrible things done by a human.
That woman's name is singer Cassie Ventura who was brave enough to finally speak up. The brutal physical and mental abuse she endured, is sickening. And G-d knows what other videos the have. There is a special place in hell for people like him.
I think such comments are abhorrent. As MLK said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” I prefer to expose ignorance to the light of day. Let that ignoramus see what people think of his disgusting comment.
Seriously. About the U.S. Magistrate Judge job. Beside “yes or no” on bail and pretrial release - it seems like the easiest job in the world. Any decision they make is going to be reargued the very next day before their superior judge who may reverse it. Really no consequences to their decisions. No finality. Oh - and they get to preside over a federal misdemeanor? Why would smart successful lawyer or state court judge want that job? Do the district judges even go to lunch with the magistrates? Is it like how circuit court judges treat county court judges?
Correction: the above comment was in response to 5:48 pm…and now also to 1:20 pm and to our very own host. We can call someone who expresses a personal opinion an ignoramus and his/her comment abhorrent, but don’t we dare call a wife beater like Diddy a horrible savage animal. SMH.
10/10 to the accuracy of 9/19 @ 9:08 AM's translation. Clearly 9/18 @ 11:10 PM has neither practiced in federal court nor paid attention in law school.
I think the commenters are trying to put into words his cruel and brutal actions. How he used his power and money to literally brutalize and torture women/girls. There is at least one appellate opinion affirming the use of the term “animal” in closing in the context of someone using their power to rape and manipulate a young girl with intellectual disability. It’s not a right way to describe someone, but please give people a break for having this reaction to what this person in power did to probably so many, I’m sure more than we will ever know.
RE: He also was involved in the several murders but they won’t discuss that. 10:09:53 PM Oh everything is coming to the surface now, including the notorious NY club shooting in which his then girlfriend JLo were all arrested for. Look it up. This guy had it all.....oh what a fall from grace. To the commenter at Thursday, September 19, 2024 9:30:21 PM--- Your comment about him being a human being with serious issues. Let me ask you a question, of that was your daughter who was being dragged down to a hotel hallway and beaten and kicked, (can you imagine what was being done behind doors? Actually we do, read the indictment.) what other word than "animal" would you use? No human being would ever do that to another human being unless they were an animal. He abused his power and fame to get what he wanted and thought he was untouchable.
What kind of human does this another human being? This is what a savage animal does-- https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/18/entertainment/cassie-ventura-sean-diddy-combs Ask any woman who has suffered abuse from a man.
Any man who kicks, stomps, drags and beats a woman resulting in black eyes and a fat lip can be described as an animal. Any man who uses his power and authority to do this same thing to multiple young women is a savage animal. One of his victim’s own words: “I’m not a rag doll, I’m someone’s daughter.” Imagine for a moment that was your daughter, you would likely call him much worse. To quote MLK to those expressing righteous anger and outrage here describing Diddy’s actions against young women as animalistic is not right. The day that we stop being absolutely sickened and outraged and pissed by this kind of behavior we all need help. The cowards at that hotel that kept this video hidden are also pathetic.
Is la Madrina spreading office business yet again. It’s juicy office business but grow up and keep your mouth shut. People’s lives and livelihood are at issue. Can’t wait for the shoe to be on the other foot. Does KFR really understand this dynamic. Me thinks not. SMH
Do you realize that they also handle full on federal cases on their own when the parties consent? Or what about the fact that they don't just deal with criminal cases, but civil cases too?
A federal magistrate judge is holding hearings on a weekly basis, monitoring civil (and sometimes criminal) dockets based on what is referred from the district judge, and researching/reviewing/writing reports and recommendations (or just straight up orders if the issue is non-dispositive). AND when they're on criminal duty, they're having to deal with everything criminal related that comes in that week including warrants, non-disclosure orders, etc. In some cases, district judges refer EVERYTHING that is filed in a case to their paired magistrate judge to handle.
There's a lot that happens behind the scenes. So no, it's not the easiest job in the world because you have to be keeping track of multiple things at the same time like "how close are we to the trial date?" (since that would determine when an order or report and recommendations is due) but multiply that by however many motions you have on your plate.

Sketch of diddy better looking than real life diddy… he looks exhausted from finding a use for all that baby lotion…
My question is this ; you have 50mm cash for bail , why are you not in Morocco on you private jet ? He’s getting life.

Conjugal visits?

Because of the color of his skin
Where are you Rumpole and the comments?
Gosney would win that for Diddy.
I bet they have the actual videos. After you watch that video of him dragging that woman, you know he is an animal that should be caged.
All that money, he beat a previous serious criminal case and he is in this predicament. I don't know if that video is part of this case but that video clearly shows this guy is a horrible, savage animal.
I don’t think he’ll ever see freedom again. The move was to convince govt this is not a federal crime, which they tried, but jurors will be appalled.
"horrible, savage animal" spoken like a true prosecutor. five stars
What a great job … US Magistrate Judge. How easy are their issues to deal with a few hours a day right?

You’re fucked in the head if you can deny race typically has to do with every criminal case
Not guilty. The poor victims will just have to setle for the cash they already got.

If he is found Guilty, then Yes he can be described as a violent savage animal. The specific animal is classified as a Homosapien .
Dream team would be Q and The Big Easy E Elortegui but each reportedly asked for 50 mil which even for Diddy was steep.
Explain to me how Adam Goodman is representing Tyreek Hill on his traffic tickets. Most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.
