Many of you know Judge Karan has been battling Parkinson's disease and she needs to spend more time working on her health.
This is a tremendous loss to the Bench and to our community.
We can only hope and pray that her condition stabilizes. Judge Karan is bravely fighting this terrible disease. She needs our support and prayers at this difficult moment in time.
Godspeed Judge Karan.

A great force for justice in the domestic violence courts.
I am so sad to hear of this terrible news.
Judge Karen, I wish you all the best in your fight.
Hey Rumpole, I have a question. How does attorney Kenny Weisman stay so young? Any tips would be appreciated....
I hope she feels better.
Amy Karan was elected in 1994 and hit the ground running in January, 2005. Her impact on the judicial system and the cause of protecting women (and men) from domestic violence here and around the country was immediate, overwhelming and profound. She has been a source of pride to the judiciary of this state and most especially to this county. It is judges like Amy that we should all aspire to be. I am proud to call her my friend and a colleague.
God speed Amy. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
RIP Holden Caulfield. JD Salinger has passed away.
Judge Karan was one of my professors and mock trial coaches in law school. She is the reason why I understand hearsay today. She has been battling her illness for several years now, but only recently has it struck her physically... This disease will never take away her sharp mind and brilliant intellect. She is and always will be a real mensch.

Maybe the worse part of this news is that now we get to see a new list of candidates applying for appointment to the County Court Bench.
For every well qualified candidate, there will be two five year lawyers looking for a raise.
Get real people. If you want to make more money then leave the
PD's and State and take a stab at private practice.
the federal bench in this circuit is god awful. besides jordan moreno cook graham middlebrooks...
I have been lucky to know Amy Karan on & off for nearly 30 years. I was devastated to hear of her illness. She was & I'm sure still is a vibrant & beautiful spirit. It's been a few years since our paths have crossed. She is often in my thoughts & prayers.. I wish her & her family all the best always....Your Friend Steve From London.
So sorry to learn about Amy Karan's illness. We were classmates and friends in junior high and high school. My thoughts and prayers are with her.
