Why doesn't Judge Blake have his own TV show?
We hope he stays right here.
Anyone have updates on the trial?
Meanwhile, here is Bob Norman's Broward New Times Article on newly elected Judge Ian Richards. Richards ran against a Mike Satz sponsored incumbent Judge-Catalina Avalos- appointed by Jeb Bush. . She had all the right endorsements, all the money, and all the powerful Broward Boyz behind her. And She lost. Broward being Broward, Richards can look forward to a wonderful assignment doing traffic arraignments in some far flung branch court all day.
See You In Court.

VP Candidate Sarah Palin is one of only 3 governors in the US to sign and endorse a proclamation to allow juries to hear that they have the right ot nullify a verdict if they feel the law ought not be criminal.
She is just so law and order, right-wing Christian, right Rumpole??? Actually, she is much more libertarian, anti-state in some of her positions than any of the other 4 candidates.
In other news, the UK just adopted sharia law for muslims for family cases, incl. domestic violence!! I am not making this up. Look it up.
Aint left wing multiculti stuff fun,Rumpole??
Joe Biden is the author of the Drug War, Rumpole. You have written zero about that, but love to bash anything "Republican".
Looks like our favorite vpilf, Sara Palin, got herself a little taste of the patriot act...
2:44- I know you can read. Have you seen what I have written about one of my favourite presidents, Ronald Reagan? Have you seen what I have written about George Herbert Walker Bush? Have you read what I have written about Gerald Ford? Dwight Eisenhower? Teddy Roosevelt? Don't tell me I bash Republicans. They have done a good enough job shooting themselves in the foot by electing morons.
Rumpole- I'm trying to steer a client on a DUi to the right guy. The Easy E, the Q, or the L&L Twins. Who would you choose? I'm thinking Easy E- he' so smooth in court, plus the Q never shows anymore- it's beneath him.
Any thoughts?
I would recommend Mike Catalano. He is the best and affordable.
Any truth to the JOA rumor up in Prescott?
Heard that prior to jury selection JOA Joe told the prosecutors in his division to call his supervisors and tell them that he was going to JOA them in a stalking case. after a recess they nolle prossed. Please confirm
Rump, I for one am enjoying the Hot Lingerie Models diversion on the left here. Why do you think you are not getting much play there?

Broward Judges file appeals but its the winner in the 3 way race asking for Dijoles to be knock out leaving him the winner.
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
For all of you that know and love the following attorney, the Broward BLOG breaks this news story:
"Al Milian arrested this morning at 1:33 AM for DUI Property Damage by BSO Deputy Faccini."
CAPTAIN OUT ......
Let me say that I have actually gotten to know Al since he left the Broward SAO. And I have found him to be polite, nice, a great lawyer, a gentleman and basically completely opposite of the reputation he had about being overly aggressive in trial. Even if he made a mistake, I personally take no joy in this news. Al has in many ways become a "go to guy" for winning trials in Broward, and I am sure that will continue.
THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
For those that care, the numbers are in from the Florida Bar poll of appellate court judges.
For the 3rd District Court of Appeal, the results were:
-- 92 percent support retaining Judge Gerald B. Cope
-- 87 percent support retaining Judge David M. Gersten
-- 73 percent support retaining Judge Barbara Lagoa
-- 79 percent support retaining Judge Juan Ramirez
-- 88 percent support retaining Judge Vance E. Salter
CAPTAIN OUT ....
Prediction on who Milian will hire to represent him, (and it won't be the Q):
one name in Broward:
Carlos Canet
Dan Lurvey and the hot Associate did get a JOA before Prescott. Cop defendant. KFR's streak of losing public corruption cases continues.
First tell me who the Judge is.
Former prosecutor arrested and charged with DUI. http://www.miamiherald.com/459/story/693330.html
I await the day when us lawyers are approached to appear in our own TV reality series.
The pole has been added. I look forward to breakfast.
I have to point out, I declared here two years ago (check your blog archives) that Cong. Mark Foley had committed no crime and would not be prosecuted...
Millian needs the Twins
Can someone explain what the F@#$ if the deal with CPS and the elections dept?
I too have gotten to know Al Milian after about 15 years of dealing with him and he is still a very mean and nasty person.
In the DUI, I heard he damaged someone's property and yelled at them that the lighting was bad so it was their fault he hit their proeperty. I hate it when my DUI clients blame their drunk driving on the victim.
Let's rack up knock em sock em Al's history.
1. Hit a lawyer in the face.
2. Filed numerous Bar complaints against defense attorneys
3. Called a jury a bunch of "lobodimized zombies and morons" for acquitting someone he prosecuted. He then said that he "did not believe in the system."
4. Ran for State Attorney twice and lost. Claimed that he would get even with crooked cops and politicians when all along he was merely a puppet for PBA President Rivera and the Metro PBA that was tired of their cops being convicted of crimes. (How dare we prosecute crooked cops)
5. Been in domestic violence problems... ask his ex.
Poor Al. Maybe his drinking caused him to show the real man he is.
I hate to see anyone in trouble but, Al is not a nice guy and I do not feel sorry for him.
Rumpole, you need to bring back the Sunday DUI Power Rankings.
I don't understand the great joy that some folks seem to take in Millian's arrest. I had my run in with him, but the fact is that the man truly is (or at least was) dedicated to bettering the community. Yes, he went to far (which made him, in my opinion, a poor candidate for State Attorney). But, his motives were good. It's not like he set out to hurt people. He's actually a decent guy with a bad temper who was blinded by his desire to do justice. And, he was a damn good trial lawyer. I'm surprised he did something so irresponsible. But do not believe he deserves condemnation or ridicule. I wish him nothing but the best.
BTDT
Rump, did you catch Larry King? There is a devoted group, 'Hockey Moms For Palin.' Average moms who support Palin for VP. That's who we need running the most powerful and influential country in the world, an average hockey mom! If elected where will she hold her meetings? In the White House or on the ice?
3:56, smear the pole with oil beforehand or lather the princess with it.(Either way you'll thank me)
Rump -- a bit off topic but have you been reading the Broward blog. They have this poster called the Phantom Fauxtoshopper (I wonder if he's related to the Faux Fakey Fakerstein, Esq. guy) who does a Perez-Hilton-esque thing with pictures of judges and politicians. Pretty funny.
