THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

V
OTE

It's been called the "greatest play in baseball" and voted as one of the top 100 moments in baseball history. It happened more than 34 years ago, on April 25, 1976, and it involved Rick Monday of the Chicago Cubs. And watching it may remind you why it's so very important to take advantage of the freedoms we all have and of our right to chose our elected officials in a free and democratic way.

Hundreds of thousands of young men and women have given their lives in defense of our country, your freedom, and everyone's right to vote. Last week, Rumpole ran a story on the 70th anniversary of one of Churchill's "finest" moments and it too reminded us how important it is to remember the sacrifices that others have made, for us and our freedom.

If you do nothing else on Tuesday, take a few minutes out of your busy lives, and go down to your local polling place and VOTE.

And Judges, take a line from Judge Lenny Glick's book on Election Day, and let your jury out a few minutes early so they can exercise their rights and vote.

Good luck to all of the candidates.

Abraham Lincoln. Oh well.

REPUBLICANS, if later today you go to court and get ruled against by a judge who just doesn't do good work, someone whom you believe doesn't deserve to have been appointed, then vote today for Rick Scott. Bill McCollum will have the power to change the judiciary make-up directly. It will not be pretty. VOTE FOR RICK SCOTT for this reason. MCCOLLUM DOES NOT HAVE THE JUDGMENT AND CHARACTER TO BE GIVEN THIS AWESOME POWER.

better yet. don't vote. they all suck. any one worth a damn would not run for office. i choose to not participate in the charade any longer.

Just don't vote for Ed Newman or Flora Seff. That will send a message to all sitting judges that being a jerk on the bench will get you sidelined by some female Hispanic lawyer who wants to be someone someday.

Sorry, I'm having a bad day.

Imagine if Rick Scott was the one making the appointments? God help us! Man doesn't even know the difference between state and federal laws. If Scott wins primary, I'm changing parties.

Hey 7:07, Isn't Rick Scott the skinhead promoting ethnic cleansing? I've never been more embarrassed to be a republcan. Vote for neither.

It was asked:
"Can someone tell how Bay county has jurisdiction in the Woods divorce. one has to be a resident for 6 months before filing and I do not believe either Tiger or his ex were residents of Bay County."

Gawd! Don't you criminal lawyers know the difference between jurisdiction and venue? Jurisdiction runs statewide. Florida, the state, has jurisdiction no matter where the cause of action occurs. Venue is where the case can be held, and venue, as we all know, can be waived.

That is why when your smart Dade County judges get divorced, they sign a Marital Settlement Agreement, file it in some other county and drive over for the hearing.

Sheesh!
