A MESSAGE FROM JUDGE SAYFIE
Good evening - thank you to everyone for the endless phone calls, emails, texts and efforts to help us manage this situation. The situation is very fluid and I appreciate everyone’s assistance in adapting our plans as we get better educated.
To add to Friday’s plan, we are taking extra measures to reduce traffic at REG. We are going to have signs on both entrances to the building telling out of custody defendants that their hearings are cancelled and will be reset. Remember that we will be resetting all out of custody matters. We will be addressing only in custody arraignments, emergency and release issues. We will continue to have first appearances.
Additionally, our hope is to start consolidating court calendars by Tuesday to again lessen people in the courthouse. We will send you all the updated schedule tomorrow so you can plan your staffing needs accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation and please contact me if you have any questions.
Nushin G. Sayfie, Circuit Court Judge
Administrative Judge of the Criminal Division
COUNTY COURT
People do not need to appear. No bench warrants no License suspensions. No trials.
When you see something that is not right, not fair, find a way to get in the way and cause trouble. Congressman John Lewis
