The other day, during our perambulations through our old but cherished courthouse, we avoided the elevators as they are Covid-19 breeding and transmission havens. But as we walked up and down the stairs, everywhere we went, were door handles which are just as effective as transmitting the CV19 virus as a bondsman with a runny nose eager to shake hands.

The same could be said for our courthouse, although it's too late for some of us to get out while we're young. Prediction: within two weeks there will be an outbreak traced to the REGJB and then it's good night nurse for Criminal Justice in Miami for a while.
Stats: Door handles touched:16; people who tried to shake hands: 11. Potential infection sources, including escalator handrails, stairwell handrails, podiums, and general riff-raff: too numerous to mention.
Speaking of Courthouse news, David Ovalle @Davidovalle305 reported on the quick Guilty Verdict Wednesday in state v. Eugenio Farinas, the 76 year old gentlemen who was accused of killing City of Miami Accountant Gladys Jorge 17 years ago. Charlie Johnson presiding. Our sources tell us that the verdict was surprisingly quick despite a paucity of evidence. ASAs Kim Rivera and Marbely Hernandez did a good job bringing the verdict home for the State in nearly record time for a first degree murder case.

Rump next week I am taking my model GF to south of France for a long planned trip. I have offices on Brickell and NYC near the SDNY where I handle mostly civil. Settled a big class action in November, booked the trip for a month, including two weeks on a yacht at 40k per week (she has high standards, but then anyone who went to Stanford and then has been on the cover of Elle can't be taken for granted). Right now we are flying into Zurich on Swiss Air first class. Should I get a credit and take a NetJet and just get on the yacht? The whole virus thing has me freaked out. On the ship we will be safe, right? She's pushing to go, but then she's 25 and can't imagine being sick. I'm 45 and I know we can get ill. I'm on the fence, there are more models but I don't want to get sick.
40k per week is not high maintinance. That is the equivalent of a coach flight to Buffalo NY for the weekend, with a stay at the days inn.
If you are not spending more than 150k per week, you are floating on my dinghy.
You think the Coronavirus stands a chance in the REG building? I would think that if the virus landed on the escalator handles, it would be attacked by the current collection of viruses that have resided there since 1984.
I think anyone that has practiced in the REG building has a supercharged immune system and is safe.

Not withstanding fire code issues, seek a waiver and order all doors opened and all touch areas, such as the escalators, disinfected constantly throughout the day.

Dear CB- Judges are segregated. we do not ride the escalators and our bailiffs open the doors for us. What exactly is your concern? We are fine.
