THE LAST CLOSING

The closing arguments in the disappearance over Rilya Wilson concluded on Wednesday. The jury will be charged on Thursday and begin deliberations.

Long time ASA Sally Weintraub gave the rebuttal argument for the prosecution. As per Herald Ace David Ovalle, this could well be her last closing argument in a long and distinguished career:

Sally Weintraub up now for rebuttal. Can't help but think this could be her final closings as a prosecutor after long, accomplished career

Justice Thomas mystery solved!
What did Justice Thomas say in court the other day? After lengthy and hi-tech evaluation of the tape, the experts agree on the following, regarding an issue of competent counsel:
She was a graduate of Yale Law School?” Scalia asked.
Sigler responded, “She’s a very impressive attorney.”
Then Scalia talked about another lawyer, who was a graduate of Harvard Law School.
“Son of a gun!” joked Scalia, a Harvard Law graduate himself – class of 1960.
To which Thomas, a 1974 Yale law graduate, said into the microphone, “Well, there, see: He did not provide good counsel.”
Harvahard and Yalies populate the court. Time for someone from Suffolk Law to get on the court and shake things up.

This week so far MR Justice Milton Hirsch has quoted from Leo Durocher, Henry Clay's testimony to become John Qunicy Adams Sec of State, Nixon's Checkers Speech, and Popes Urban VII and Innocent IX- and that was all during a plea for credit time served. Stay tuned.

Hah-vad and Yale were my safety schools before finally going to Nova. Nova is considered by many Nova grads as the Harvard of Broward County.

Milt Watch is HEELARIOUS!!!

for how smart he is (and reminds you every day) Mr. Hirsch has not mastered the art of humility, an essential quality in any judge

The Milt stuff is getting boring. Please stop.

Former ASA here:

If you are on the defense and you have a legitimate evidentiary or suppression motion to present to a judge, you would probably want it in front of Judge Hirsch.

He knows the rules, knows the law, holds the state to the fire and is not afraid to call it like he sees it. I don't care about his ego.

I'd prefer him to about 7 or 8 of the robed prosecutors on the bench today. From charging power to sentencing, the odds are stacked in the state's favor, so I want a judge that will give a defendant a fair shake.

The milt stuff is not boring. And humility is not an art. Nor does a judge need be humble. It helps when you are not a db, however.

Please don't!

Milt is the man! He's the life of the Justice Building. The other judges are dull and tedious.

Where did Mr. Chief Justice-Designate Milton Hirsch go to law school?

I heard the Senate re-preconfirmed His Majestic Excellency by a 100-0 vote.

White Law: Casey Anthony with body on case not overcharged= not guilty.

Black Law:Geralyn Graham with no body overcharged no phys. evd.= Unanimous vote on aggr. & kidnapp first day of deliberations with one hold out.

3:37, you are absolutely right. Milt might talk in Shakespearean prose, and have a healthy ego, but I rather have my case blind filed there any day. At least I know his power trip is about being smart and not sentencing people to the maximum in prison or being a prosecutor in a robe. You know you will at least get an impartial hearing based upon the law and that he will grant a motion to suppress and not hammer your guy just for going to trial. He isn't a hack like several of the former prosecutors who pretend to be judges. The disciple of Leslie Rothenberg particularly.

BTDT,

Just like W. punked us with a bullshit war and presidency. Casey Anthony walked with a body. Robert Blake walked after his wife was shot 30 sfter his brief absence. Matthew Bent got no bond but recently Jordan Howe did and that's a spoof, no these are your and my America. You are distant to reality all the way from when I said Stanley Williams wad executed and Charles Manson is still sucking up air. There is great idifference in the system.Sad you choose to turn a blind eye to it like s coward and facilitator.
