Judge Tunis Needs More Time.

Here is the link to the GamePolitics Blog post on our favourite lawyer, who is otherwise banned from posting on this blog. The topic was Judge Tunis's request to the Florida Supreme Court for more time to issue her reccomendation in the Florida Bar versus Jack Thompson.
GAMEPOLITICS

The comments are enlightening if not downright funny.

Here is the link to the post of Judge Tunis's request for more time.
TUNIS REQUEST

We especially like paragraph ten of the request:

"10. Following the conclusion of the trial in December 2oo7, Mr. Thompson has filed with the undersigned in excess of 400 pleadings, emails, letters and missives (including pictorials) through today's date. These communications with the court are in addition to voluminous copies of filings related to other lawsuits filed by Mr. Thompson in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and other lawsuits allegedly filed in the Circuit Courts of Miami-Dade and Leon counties."

(emphasis added by Rumpole.)

In the interest of disclosure, Mr. Thompson has filed a bar complaint against "Rumpole" (lord knows what they do with those in Tallahassee) and has threatened repeatedly to sue us. We are sure we will be the recipient of more threats, except we cannot read them because we have placed his email on spam block, because he has repeatedly refused our polite requests to take us off his email list.

Want to fill up your email in box? As Judge Tunis knows, just give Jack your email address. Presto, he's good for 3 on a slow day, and a dozen when he's really motivated.

See You In Court not reading emails, threats, etc., from you know who.

Hewhomustnotbenamed is going to law school so he can represent Rumpole in the bar complaint proceedings when Judge Tunis finishes reading of all of Jack's pleadings 10 years from now.

You had a bar complaint before. Been there done that. If you know who cannot take down Rumpole (lord knows you know who is resourceful), I really doubt you should worry.

Just to be safe "Someone call the Q".

Some joker wrote something to the effect that Migna has no opposition because perhaps she is the most qualified?

Maybe its time to get those Migna drinking songs going again.

What was it again? "You'll be on the bench by January 3?"

Migna will be on the bench.

He also kills fax machines. GamePolitics transcript break down is sometimes scary, sometimes hysterical.

The poor man is a train wreck.

Oh, and a freeper. He was banned from freerepublic for pretty much the same standard "I'll sue you for calling me a doody head!" Tactics.

I wonder if the Bar made a motion for emergency suspension of Bar licsene for that JackAss/

Re: The Florida Supreme Court and the “ Provision of Legal Services to Indigents”

Dear Mr. Angones and All Bar Governors:

The Florida Supreme Court has indicated in the past that it would like to see more effort by our profession to provide legal services to indigents. See http://www.floridaprobono.org/about/item.history-of-pro-bono-legal-assistance-in-florida and Florida Bar v. Furman.

This alleged position of our Justices is absolutely hilarious in light of the following:

• St. Lucie County Judge Cliff Barnes is being prosecuted by the JQC, with the blessing of the Supreme Court, because he wrote an op-ed critical of his Circuit’s failure to adequately provide legal services to indigents. The JQC wants him removed from office for expressing his views in this regard.

• The Bar is prosecuting Broward Attorney Sean Conway for his truthful criticism of Judge Aleman who was depriving criminal defendants of their rights.

• I offered to spend the next two years of my life doing nothing but representing indigent criminal defendants in order to get the Bar off my back. Bar Governor/designated reviewer Steve Chaykin, seemingly representing all the gay bars in the state, has refused even to respond to my offer. Mr. Chaykin puts the purity of his leftwing hatred of Christians ahead of the needs of indigent criminal defendants. I’m obsessed? Chaykin makes me look downright normal.

The Florida Bar and the Supreme Court have lost their way. Former “Public Defender” Dava Tunis has lost her way. I’m going to have a jury bring this Bar back to its senses and make it an indigent in the process. Get ready.

Regards, Jack Thompson

I am thinking about running for Judge, but do not want to hire Bob Levy, Armando Gutierrez or Al Lorenzo. Can someone please provide a recommendation of a few consultants with a winning record as well as brains that I can talk to?

By the way, I heard about being ripped-off with outrageous prices, thus I want someone who is priced fairly and works. Thanks.

Rappers' foe in on state Bar lawsuit

WEST PALM BEACH — A conservative Christian lawyer best known for persuading a federal judge to outlaw a rap group's sexually laced lyrics is behind a lawsuit that accuses The Florida Bar of violating federal racketeering and antitrust laws.

While the lawsuit was filed this week by Mary Alice Gwynn, the Delray Beach attorney referred phone calls about it to Jack Thompson. The Coral Gables anti-porn crusader in 1990 fought to have 2 Live Crew's lyrics declared obscene and later filed a complaint that ultimately pushed radio shock-jock Howard Stern off the air.

A longtime critic of the Bar, Thompson said he did much of the research Gwynn is using in her suit alleging the Bar is putting its own interests above those of protecting the public from unscrupulous attorneys.

The crux of the suit involves the Bar's relationship with Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Co. The company, which provides malpractice insurance to lawyers, was created by the bar, and some top Bar officials serve on the insurer's board of directors.

Gwynn claims that lawyers who are insured by the company get preferential treatment from the Bar's disciplinary committee. Such a relationship not only hurts those who count on the Bar to weed out bad lawyers, it is also a way to extort business from lawyers, she claims.

The relationship also gives the insurer an advantage over rivals, a violation of antitrust laws, she says.

Zannah Lyle, a spokeswoman for the Bar, said the bar and insurer "are separate and distinct legal entities," though members are offered discounts.

Thompson said the lawsuit is part of his continuing efforts to get the Florida Supreme Court, not the Bar, to probe lawyer misconduct.

By the way Rump, Jack is an expert at evading bans. If bans were Laws Jack would be the worst criminal offender out there. He uses proxy servers to randomize his IP address. Might have to go moderated or signed in only if you don't want to hear from him.

When or when will the Bar move to suspend him and then disbar him?

Jack, go away.
