Arrest everybody. Twice. Job security.

the funny thing about this, is that it's not funny - its true, and that's pathetic.

Good shit, Rumpole. The common denominator across all your "stories": More, and more active, government. From the left, from the right, from the center...

Not that old said...

We had kids with guns in their trucks in 1979, so you need to move your date up a bit.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation, I remain,

yours truly,
Anonymouse. (old old blog refernce from days when Bobby Reiff was slugging it out.)

Last scenario is missing a sentence: Johnny's parents sue school system over his knee scrape.

All this utter lack of common sense is the result of political correctness and the refusal of school administrators and parents to take action without consulting with government and their involving law enforcement for even the least serious matters.

Everyone has a CYA attitude in the school system, just like in the SAO.

Is the L & L associate the only attractive female left in the building?

No. There is also the mega-spinner clerk hottie in Mills Francis. Cute. Petite. Sweet. And a mega mega mega hottie of legendary proportions.

Where are the women and gay guys on this blog?

Why no comments on the real hot guys in Bloom's courtroom?

Way too true - grew up with shotgun and rifle in the car. But not just CYA - also "Zero Tolerance" meaning we don't have to think or make a decision

Never let the truth get in the way of good story. I don't even know where to start. Both the 1958 scenarios and 2008 scenarios are straw arguments- happy little anecdotes that rarely, if ever happened.

But let's forget that...

It's 1958. Jack won't sit in school. He gets sent to the principal a lot and gets paddled. His father whups him for his grades. He picks fights with other kids. He starts a fight with Mark. A crowd gathers; Jack wins. He spits on Mark. Anger is his release. One day, Jack spends the morning shooting squirrels with Adam. They leave them to die and head to school with his shotgun in its gun rack. On his way he sees some negro students walking to their segregated school. He decides to impress Adam by confronting them. He stops the car and gets out. "Where you dumb niggers going?" They walk quietly on. It's 1958. "I'm talking to you nigger." He shoves a girl. Her boyfriend steps in. Calmly, politely, the negro boyfriend tells Jack that's enough for the morning. The negro student is 30 pounds heavier and 3 inches taller. Jack is no match. Adam laughs at him. He boils over in his powerless, hopeless anger. Jack runs back for the gun. He points it at the girlfriend and fires. She lies dying. "Like that nigger? Ready to talk now nigger? Know what time it is nigger? It's 1958."

What is printed in the Broward Blog is true in a very sick, revolting way.

What is even more sick is that even though so many of us concede the idiocy, the majority, if they become Judges, would not have the guts to call a "spade a spade".

Whether you agree with Eig or not, the man is running his courtroom with his heart...rather than worrying about being politically correct and he should be commended. He is a new Judge so all of us have a learning curve. Anybody that has the guts to do be fair and try to improve our community must be given a pass...even if you disagree with them.

Thus is the problem with elected Judges and the vultures circling around who they think are vulnerable. Don't make a move and you don't have to worry about the ramifications! Thats wrong!

Although there are plenty of good younger Judges, there is something special about the older guys, Snyder, Knight, Margolius, and especially Deehl. They try to do the right thing rather than the politically correct thing.

I would like to see someone of authority chastize the next imbecile that writes "burglary with a battery" because someone reaches through a car window and tweaks the driver's nose.

T'aint funny, t'aint true, neither. Lots of those beaten boys in the 50s abuse their own kids today--what goes around comes around. Same with many of your other examples. There have always been abusive adults interacting with our children, and every generation we try to do better at curtailing the bullying, the sexual acting out and the rest of the problems.

I did not print the comment calling someone a "ho". None of that here.

We've been over this. The clerk and the Associate(s) and the random PDs and ASAs and Judges who are talked about on this blog are Justice Building hot. Not Miami Beach hot. Doesn't matter to me, though. I'll take any kind of hot.

In the event someone is "confused" by the comment discussing "Jack", "Negroes", and 1958, let me make clear:

The comment, however poorly written, countered the lead post's revisionist paradise with a negative view that was just as likely. The idyllic 50's, to the extent they existed at all, excluded women, blacks, hispanics, and other non-caucasians.

For persons under 40, the overt racism wasn't seen or felt on a daily basis. But persons over 60 experienced its humiliation relentlessly. Since baseball has started, think of Jackie Robinson and, later, Hank Aaron.

So to each and every poster who cries "too true, too true," I say shut-up with your revisionist history of the 50's. They're pretty stories which are demonstrably untrue for the great majority of Americans. As a protestant caucacasian male, I am both proud of America's movement toward equality and ashamed at its pace.

Let's stop pretending that racism ended with the tap of MLK's fairy wand. Let's stop acting puzzled when confronted with continuing black anger.
