NFL 2015 WEEK 8

Sorry readers, but a difficult travel and trial schedule has left us behind a bit and Sundays is a travel day so we don't have a lot of time for our traditional Sunday football posts.

Chargers at Ravens. This is a bounce back game. Take the Ravens -3.5 at home because the Ravens aren't as bad as their record, and the Chargers stink.

Packers at Broncos, one of the two games of the day. The Broncos are home dogs, +3. Peyton Manning can't throw the ball farther than the length of a courtroom, and the Broncos defense will only carry them so far, but not past the Pack. Take the Pack +3.

Jets at Raiders. This is a home dog we like. Take the Raiders at home getting three.

And if any of these don't work out and you need a get even game, the over 46 on the Monday night Colts at Panthers looks enticing.

The Great Al Molinaro has passed away. We will always remember him as Murray the Cop in The greatest sit-com of all time: The Odd Couple.

See you in court. We hope.

Al Molinaro had a reckless before me and he agreed to make an appearance at a children's hospital in exchange for a nolle Prosse and I called the Herald and got lots of free publicity. A comedic genius and a heck of a nice guy. His autographed picture was hanging in my chambers for years unit I fired my Ja by email and she stole it before I got back.

Did all the pre-diabetic and diabetic sick people fill up on candy yesterday? Cause, hey, it doesn't count if you eat candy on a holiday and besides you'll chug some.diet coke which shows you're serious about losing weight.
Meanwhile the few healthy ones if us left ran a 5k today.

This being the day after Halloween I was asked yesterday by a very charming lawyer in the Midwest what my favorite horror movie was. I only have one and I think I've only seen two. It was the Exorcist. It's not a genre I am familiar with but it's truly an excellent film. The restored copy has what the aficionados call the deleted "crab walk" scene where a deranged Regan crab walks down the stairs and it's truly one of the most frightening movie scenes ive ever seen. Why it was removed from the original movie is beyond me.

I think I once saw Peter Adrian read defendants their rights on video and that pretty much was the most scariest thing I've ever seen on film.

they dont make cops like murray greschler any more

trivia question what was murrray's wifes name?

what was one of murrays big cases that actually went to trial?

Rumpole said...

Well I know the answer to both. Let's say his wife's name begins with an M. And the arrest was for a gambling beef after a deep undercover operation nabbing Vinny Speed Oscar and Felix. For a real trivia question what was the name of the atty written on the wall in jail cell.

Fantastic "scary burgers" at the venue today. Beef and veal mixed with pork chicarrones and then fried on the griddle with provolone and crispy jalapeƱo mayo (don't ask just enjoy). Fantastic feast.

I've named my new kitten The Big Challouch. He's a fat one.

Anonymous said...

I named my new cat Hobart. He is about a year old and handsome and elegant and slim and feline and smart and a real pleasure. And he likes to purr.

Anonymous said...

The big Challouch would squash Hobart like a bug on a windshield.

Angry Girl would straighten out the big Challouch. Less catnip snacks. More protein at meal times. An hour on the treadmill and kitty would be looking pretty.

11/1/15 @ 12:04 pm, let me help you;

Rock n Roll is my main expertise yet, I guess, horror movies goes hand in hand with tunes. The qualifier for a superlative horror movie is how scary, creative, wonderfully- manipulative-to-the- audience and. most of all, whether it holds up over time. Usually, gore is a cheap and offensive substitute for true suspense and terror. There are plenty of quality movies yet they're pretty much derivative of these. Here is a suggested list of greatness to familiarize yourself with the genre.

1. Halloween- the pioneer not only in slasher flicks but also P.O.V. of the villain
as well.

2. Night of the Living Dead- George Romero's brilliant, cheapo indie horror movie
(with political overtones)has the look of a documentary and what a progeny that
he created.

3. The Shining- Stanley Kubrick...'nuff aid. Like any other Kubrick film, watch it
10 times and you will see 10 different movies.

4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre- The film has hardly any gore yet Tobe Hooper's
chaotic masterpiece made "suggestion" very powerful.

5. Alien- make a slasher movie in outer space and have a monster explode out of a
stomach (did you know, in real life, the actors never knew that was going to
happen?)

6. Nightmare on Elm Street- Very creative, the rules of logic no longer apply (not
to be confused with the silly sequels)

7. Psycho- Kill the star in the beginning of the movie?!. Back in 1960, that was
crazzzzzzy!

8. Sixth Sense- M. Night Shyamalan threw a huge curve ball at the audience, and took
ghosts out of the haunted house and put them into everyday places. This
director...talk about a tease!

9. Silence of the Lambs- This is what happens when there is a utilization of an A
list director and stars and a big burget.

10. Jaws- A movie that truly impacted whether people went into the ocean. It also
brilliantly utilized "sound" as a suspense device (if you know the
history of the production of this film, Spielberg did so much with so
little).

11. The Conjuring - a recent haunted house movie that does so much with so little
(the scariest scene merely involves clapping hands)

Spent the whole day alone and undisturbed with Goethe... I made him read aloud to me, many things, some finished, some fragments, and in all of them an original voice and peculiar power and in all, however strange they may be and incorrect, there is the stamp of genius. His Doctor Faustus is almost finished and seems to me the greatest and most characteristics thing he has done.

no one really believes you are a trial lawyer Rump.

Rumpole said...

Well it's real simple to find out. Deposit 50k in. Trust account of a mutually agreeable lawyer. And here is the bet. Based on cert copies of dispositions or jury verdict forms I bet I have won at trial more cases than you have tried to jury verdict. Pretty simple. So put your money up. But I'll give you a hint if your trials aren't approaching triple digits save your money.

Ok- we both put up $50k is gary ostrow's account.
