WE MAY BE OUTTA HERE

Good Thursday morning. Eleven shopping days until Christmas and eighteen days until we fall over the fiscal cliff.

Lewis and Tein saga: The case continues, and DOM has coverage from the DBR (which we refuse to pay for access to) in which more witnesses support the embattled lawyers. Which just goes to show you that it ain't over until....you hire Paul Cali.

A trio of heat babies players have been invited to take part in the annual three kings parade in January. Scratch the parade off our list of things to do.

As we reported yesterday, the Broward County courthouse- yes the same place that houses during the workday most of the Broweird judiciary- was shut down because of an excess accumulation of gas. Make of that what you will, but we think the cause is obvious.

HELP WANTED: Federal Judge. Must be a lawyer, self important, and have a bit of a deity complex.  The NY Times Op Ed piece states that there are 77 spots (9%) open. Lets see....Hawaii would be nice. We wouldn't turn down a spot in San Fran either- plus you have the 9th circuit reviewing your decisions, so no worries there. Yes, after a few moments of thought, we proudly announce our availability for a spot on the Federal Bench in San Francisco.

Otherwise...See You In Court.

Raise your hand towards the lord and repeat after me:
"I Horace Rumpole do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of federal judge. That I take this oath freely and voluntarily and without purpose of evasion. That I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States."

Rumpole: "Just what exactly does 'without purpose of evasion' cover?"

DOM ever the suck ass apologist for his buddies Lewis and Tein. Doesn't cover the bad news -- only the good. His PD blog really sucks!

People are hateful.

Someone is obsessed and their judgment clouded in a "Fatal Attraction"/rabbit-in-the-pot kind of way. Sad, that person's voice is reduced to anonymous blog comments.

Its a testament to the truth that fair, complete, accurate coverage is coming out. From what I read, not one witness, not one document, supports any allegation against Lewis Tein. Nothing.

The Herald coverage is like Karl Rove: on the wrong side of the issue, unwilling to accept the truth, colored by bias, and obsessed. No credibility there.

I saw two PDs run the ol' double dutch speedy trial scam today. It warmed my heart, and brought me back to the 70's when Roy Black and Jack Denaro either invented or perfected the ol double dutch. Sometimes I've heard the new pds call it speedy trial by a mile, but I remember it as the ol double dutch. When it goes right, it's a thing of beauty and when it's all over and one the prosecutor is left standing there scratching his or her head wondering what just happened as the judge dismisses the case.

Is DOM's blog a PD blog? And, so fucking what!

Very sorry not to see Abbe Rifkin get the nod in Broward. For Broward residents, we should be sad that our taxpayer dollars will now pay the salary of a 35 year old with 11 years in, to preside over matters of life and death.

County is one thing, but Circuit is entirely another. Politics are very ugly.
