"WE. WILL. RISE." .....

THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

CORY BOOKER, YOUR NEXT BIG STAR OF THE DEMOCRACTIC PARTY .....

While some of you may be supporters of Hillary, and others may support The Donald, I think we can all agree, as trial attorneys, that we all love it when we get to watch great public speakers making great speeches.

Tonight, at the Democratic National Convention, the headliners included Elizabeth Warren (snoozer of a speech); Bernie "Can you feel the Bern" Sanders (did a very good job); FLOTUS Michelle Obama (did a fantastic job); and Senator Corey Booker.

In case you missed it, (he spoke before the ten o'clock hour), New Jersey Senator Corey Booker, who was on Clinton's "short list" for VP, spoke last night, and, well, let's just say he pulled a Giancarlo Stanton, and simply and purely, knocked it out of the park.

Here is his 20 minute "WE. WILL. RISE." speech, (the last five minutes are the best part):

Respectfully disagree with you,

He started out very strong and very charismatic

but then he was rambling for the last 10 minutes.

Disclosure: I am a Trump voter. But I wasnt too impressed by Booker's speech until the end. He didnt modulate much, screamed the entire thing. Once he got the call-and-response going at the end, however, he elevated and closed it well.

I think Michelle did best last night. Better than most politicians.

Warren's delivery was school-marmish, which is to be expected. But she had perhaps the greatest rhetorical trick, surrounding Clinton and preventing escape. Sample:

"We need to reign in the big banks. We need to regulate Wall Street. Surely Hillary Clinton will do that!"

Statement after statement of populist goals and then adding, "Surely Hillary supports this!"

We all know 100% Hillary does NOT support any of that, but Warren was locking her in.

I have a dream that one day a black politician will admit that black males allowed to drop out of school and being raised without a father are not the fault of the white man and if those 2 issues were addressed the crime rate in the u.s. would be cut by 1/3.

Everything is the white mans fault.

I thought Baio, the eastern European model and the Calvin Klein underwear guy were real smart and good last week.

So I'm getting unsolicited e-mails from something called the "Miami Dade Judicial Watchdog", trashing County Court judge candidate Luce, and linking to some bar grievance committee report from 2002 and another e-mail with a link to a JQC complaint. The bottom of one e-mail reads as follows: "Political advertisement paid for, and approved by Ruben Alcoba non-partisan,for Miami-Dade County Court Judge."

I don't know either of these folks, but is this allowed?

Rump: I can forward these two e-mails to you if you want to vet this. Say the word.

11:51 - I too have a dream, that one day cries of racism from the left will be inappropriate responses when having an open and honest conversation about race.

Barack Obama has squandered the opportunity of the first black president. He did nothing for his people. What's worse is that the left keeps blacks in political slavery by validating a terrorist group (Black Lives Matter), perpetuating untrue stereotypes about cops (a lot more whites are killed by cops but you'll never hear that), promoting welfare and food stamps, all while doing nothing to promote the family structure, school choice (let poor black kids go to great schools), and job training.

The left knows that as long as there is a dependent class, there will always be votes.

Prosecutors, PDs, and government attorneys - I get it. Being a judge is a pay raise.

But why are so many private attorneys - especially those who have their own practices - running for judge this year?

Please email me what you received:

I would be interested in investigating whether this is a violation of the Canons and/or Rules for those campaigning for judge.

Jews were slaves for 5000 years.

Irish and Poles couldn't get jobs when they first arrived in the US.

Every group has had its historic hardships.

Enough blame has been placed on the past. Change comes from within. The government has failed to fix it and will continue to fail until real black leaders - the Oprah Winfreys and Herman Cains - not the mysoginistic violent rappers, race-baiting profiteers, and wife-boxing running backs - promote responsibility, respect, and aspiration to their people.

11:51. Right on. I'm all for equality, but give me a f*ing break. Before the white man gets blamed for everything, look inside your own house.

I sick of being labeled a privileged white guy. I grew up poor. Took out loans. Educated myself. Worked for the govt. hung a shingle. Work to scrape by. The days of the 5th generation blacks asking for reparation are over. I have too many black colleagues who work as hard, if not harder than me, to succeed. They are my equals. Some as good as me, some as not. That's life.

The successful black atttys I know never cry racism. They work hard, just like everyone else.

I'm so sick of this bullshit black lives matter, blue lives matter, etc. we all fucking matter. If we don't work together, nothing will be accomplished.

Ask isis. They love this divide.

Dear July 26, 2016 3:28:00;

Here is what you and your asshole cop buddies don't understand. Your society is racist. Cops are the troops of an oppressive sovereign. Slavery, Jim Crow and the War on Drugs are all racist plans, which have devastated the black community, as you and your racist buddies intended.

Black folks are, Americans. They love their guns as much as the rest of us. There is a powerful American ideology of armed self-defense. There are armed angry black men, who are seeing that peaceful protest is ineffective.

So, we have a choice. We can stand down, start disarming the cops, and start treating the black man in accordance with Jesus's admonition to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The alternative is a cycle of violence where innocent cops are shot down in retaliation for the deaths of innocent black men.

Change your policy of policing, provide equal justice and equal opportunity to all Americans or watch your cops die in the streets. The choice is yours.

3:28 exemplifies the racist scum that continues to plague this country. He accuses Obama of betraying "his people" as if Obama wasn't also beholden to me and every other citizen of the country he was elected by. What he does is project his heart, white presidents represent their people so black presidents should represent theirs. Fuck you. Presidents are supposed to represent all of us. You obviously think white presidents must only look after their own race.
