JNC NOMINATES TEN FINALISTS TO GOVERNOR SCOTT

THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

AND YOUR TWO NEWEST CIRCUIT COURT JUDGES are  .......

The Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission received 33 applications for the two open Circuit Court seats previously occupied by Judge Darrin Gayles and Judge Beth Bloom. Those two judges were elevated to the Federal District Court.

Of those 33 applicants, the JNC personally interviewed 22, including seven County Court Judges and 15 attorneys.  Last night, they forwarded ten (10) names to Governor Scott for consideration; five of whom are County Court Judges.***  Presumably he will name two of those ten to the open judgeships.

The names sent to the Governor include:

Ayana Harris; Federal APD
Laura Stuzin; Rumberger, Kirk
Jason Bloch; Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office
Judge Jason Dimitris
Judge Rodolfo Ruiz
Judge Charles Johnson
Diana Vizcaino; City of Miami Attorney's Office
Judge Wendell Graham
Judge Lourdes Simon
Lauren Fleischer Louis; Boies, Schiller

While the Governor has 60 days to select our two newest judges, (which would bring the deadline to November 8, 2014), we would not be going out on a limb by predicting that he will likely name the two new Judges before election day, Tuesday, November 4th.

If he selects any of the five County Court Judges, that would give him a two-fer.

***Two other County Court Judges that were interviewed, Judges Gloria Gonzalez-Meyer and Gladys Perez, did not make the final cut.

If you want to provide the Governor with your thoughts on any of the finalists, please contact:

Vote Adrian Wyllie for Governor! Also, Bill Wohlsifer for Attorney General and yes on 2.
Why vote between 2 known liars? Florida, we are fortunate enough not to
be stuck picking one liar or the other this time. We actually have an
alternative. Take advantage of the opportunity. Adrian Wyllie deserves
my vote. The other candidates both Republican and Democrat are owned
and controlled by special interest, like puppets and will lie to your
face to gain your vote, then continue the same old agenda that we
complain about year after year. Time to get off this merry-go-round,
election after election, thinking it will be any different. Take a
stand Florida and stop voting for these ‘paid for’ career politicians that are
only out for money and fame and have zero interest in us Floridians.
Even if it’s just for honesty alone, vote for Adrian Wyllie instead of
the other two (Scott/Crist) which are proven liars. The choice is yours
and yours alone, if you want the same old corruption and slap in the
face, go ahead and vote for one of the two puppets (Scott/Crist) OR do
what is right for our (yours and your children’s) future and vote for
Adrian Wyllie. Support him by donating to his campaign, spreading the
word and contribute to the super brochure program which I think is very
powerful. Visit his website today.

I guess we will find out who has juice. If Ruiz or some of the more inexperienced judges get it then we know it was probably a rig job. Out of that group Charlie Johnson has to be the most qualified by experience and ability.

Go Stuzin!

Team Shumie. Come celebrate the nominees at THE REN (a venue) and smoke a shumie-Caribbean Stoogie.

A very unimpressive list.

whomever can get scott some african american and female votes in Miami-Dade in the upcoming election will get the seats. polls are too close to merely reward friends, supporters and contributors.

Charlie Johnson would be an outstanding choice.

Anonymous said...

I find it curious that Gladys Perez and Gloria Gonzalez Meyer did not make the list. Oh, wait, no I dont!!! Gonzalez Meyer- county court is really where you should stay, seriously...

Rudy will get this--as for the other one, not sure....

Charles Johnson, Judge Ruiz, and Ayana Harris are quality picks.

Great List. Simple Choice.

Ayana Harris

and

Rudy Ruiz

Go Mrs. Dore Go!

Stuzine would be a great choice. She was an excellent prosecutor and, from everything I've heard, an excellent civil lawyer. Not many folks have the criminal AND civil experience she has.

BTDT

Lourdes nSimon , ex PD is a great choice

Jason Bloch-a nightmare. Who does the jnc call before making these recommendations?

I Disagree w you Hon. Trial Master. I know 7 of the Nominees, & have tried cases With or Against 4 of them. I think its Amazing so many talented / qualified people got sent to the Gov as possible appointments to the Bench

Can't make a living? Boies Schiller ain't exactly low rent....I know Lauren very well. She is brilliant and has a great temperament. IMHO she and Charlie are top dogs in terms of pure qualifications and likelihood of success.

Anonymous said...

Lauren Fleischer Louis would make a great judge. She is one of the few on the list who would take a substantial pay cut if appointed. That speaks volumes about her commitment.

Anonymous said...

6:11, Don't even bother taking the "trialmaster" seriously LOL

Anonymous said...

Some quality picks amongst that group. Will be interesting to see which two are selected. Stuzin provides great balance (criminal/civil), competency, professionalism, and the exact type of judicial temperament that you want robing up. Ruiz is another solid pick.

Anonymous said...

Sysco endorces Stuzin.

Anonymous said...

Ironic that so many are now giving kudos to Rudy Ruiz when merely a couple of years ago many were chanting the old song "he's too young, no experience to be appointed"song.

Anonymous said...

8:35 p.m., Rudy Ruiz proved us wrong with regard to his youth. He is young but does the job like and old and experienced judge.

Anonymous said...

Round up the usual cast of characters to don the black robes which disguise their lack of brains.

Anonymous said...

I think Diane Vizcaino would be terrible. She is so rude. I would hate to see her rude ass on the bench

Anonymous said...

Rodolfo Ruiz is a great judge. Treats everyone with respect in his courtroom. I was quite impressed with him. Great choice.
