For those of you with pugilistic preferences, today is not your day. Put down your fists.
But if you are a citizen of the Realm, one who dwells in Her Majesty's Commonwealth, then today is the day to shop and save.
Much like the tradition of the colonies on the day after Thanksgiving, subjects of Her Majesty's Commonwealth queue up and get some goodies on sale. It's an official holiday in Canada, the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, to name some of the countries in the civilized world that celebrate Boxing Day.
Speaking of England, we are closely following the condition of the Duke of Edinburgh who was hospitalized with chest pains late last week and underwent cardiac catheterization.
Prince Philip, HRH's Husband, is 90 years old and was otherwise in tip top condition, keeping up a schedule of over 400 appearances a year. Perhaps it is time to cut back a bit?
Courts in Miami are definitely closed today. Who's set for trial tomorrow? Who's going to trial? On the last week of the last year in the last century (1999 for our robed readers) we were in the third week of a trial that ended New Year's Eve. What's your Xmas/New Year's Eve trial story?
Unlike other blogs, we blog 24/365. *
See You In Court.
*We're not saying we don't take vacations, we're just saying we never close.

Is it called Boxing Day because people punch each other in an attempt to be the first in line to get the specials? Like on Black Friday on the U.S?
Shumie time the world over! Love it.
It is called boxing day because the uppper classes were supposed to "box up" food and christmas gifts for their servants and for poor people.
It is a great day in England because there is alot of good soccer on tv
Once as a prosecutor was in trial in front of Rothenberg over this next week. It was glorious and defendant who was in possession of a mac 10 got a very long, well earned prison term.
I came into the building with a Navy Blue suit and much to my shock and horror and embarrassment I realized I had worn both a brown tie and brown socks with black shoes. What was I thinking? I moped around the building the rest of the morning and then scampered home in my Volvo and changed. I remember it like it was yesterday: it was the first day back after the christmas break in 2007. It was just awful. I needed two cafe con leches to calm my nerves.

I'm on the verge of tears by the time we arrive at Espace, since I'm positive we won't have a decent table.
But we do, and relief washes over me in an awesome wave.
Just run "boxing day" on wilipedia and get the true answer.
So what did you change into? Brown shoes, brown belt, or black shoes, black belt, blue/black socks and red or blue tie? Frank Sinatra once offered what I thought was very good sartorial advice: never wear brown shoes with a blue suit at nighttime. Especially if you are accompanying a woman.
When do the new judges come over?
....yawn... Worse than boring = stupid.
