We are pleased to report that Mr. Jonathan has been elected president in his own right in Nigeria's election this past week. Goodluck Jonathan thus becomes his country's Johnson and not Ford.
SUGAR KILLS! You read it here first (although we twittered the link yesterday.) Here is the NY Times Magazine Article on Sugar. And we highly recommend you go on you-tube and watch Dr. Lustig's lecture: Sugar-The Bitter Truth."
Put down that Coke. Don't pick up that Gatorade. Go pour yourself a nice pure glass of cold water with lemon and read the article and save your life.
ANOTHER MONDAY- ANOTHER DIFFICULT DAY OF PARKING....courtesy of the City of Miami and some obnoxious officers who do not even come close to following the rules they are paid by us to enforce.
A quiet week with Passover today and tomorrow. Throw out the bread, get some matzos and we will see you in court.

Thanks to all those, including a great group of legal social media experts, who showed up this weekend and made our symposium on legal writing and dipthongs a great success!!!
Sugar kills? Damn, just had 3/4 of a chocolate covered dunkin donut. Thank goodness my affairs are in order.
The Captain Reports:
On this day in history .....
Brokaw called them The Greatest Generation and another fine example of that were the men of the Doolittle Raiders. On April 18, 1942, 69 years ago today, Doolittle led his flight squadron on a harrowing mission into the Japaneese homeland.
"The Doolittle Raid, on 18 April 1942, was the first air raid by the United States to strike the Japanese Home Islands (specifically Honshu) during World War II. By demonstrating that Japan itself was vulnerable to American air attack, it provided a vital morale boost and opportunity for U.S. retaliation after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. The raid was planned and led by Lieutenant Colonel James "Jimmy" Doolittle."
These flying heroes new that they would likely die in this mission. If not in the air, then surely on the ground afterwards.
There are still five men alive from that daring group of brave men. And when they were asked to recount the tale recently and the word heroes was thrown out into the conversation, they all said that they were not heroes; they were just doing their job.

Cap Out .....
Captain,
And basketball and football players are quick to say that they are going into combat with their troops. A winning touchdown or free throw, and a hero is made. BLEEEECCCHHHHHHHH.
Go Sixers.
Put Down That Coke!
Say it ain't so Rumpole-- Coke is what makes the world sing.
Gatorade itself isn't necessarily an unhealthy choice--however, if it is consumed frequently, it could become one. It is best suited to serious athletes, or used sparingly by more sedentary individuals. Constant drinking in such sports drinks can erode teeth due to the high acidity, not to mention too much sodium can deplete nutrients and cause muscle cramps.
Rumpy, still don't think the Heat have what it takes to make it to the finals? I think they are looking like champions to me!
to 2:18 pm ; huh?
i still don't think the Heat has what it takes. And I've put my money where my mouth is by betting against them.
Gatorade has its place to rehydrate marathon runners or football or soccer players on a hot day. Or I'll go so far as the back yard basketball player. But the marketing of gatorade to children is criminal.
When will some good reporter finally do a story about the cops and how they park their pigmobiles when they go to court?
Today, they were on sidewalks, on grassy areas and illegally blocking all kinds of access to the parking lot.
There's a reason they are called pigs.
This is not the place for anyone to go for nutritional or medical advice.
One look at all the pear shaped lawyers in REG should make that abundantly clear.
Captain,
I supported your previous post about the Raiders. Today, people think that athletes who play a kids game are heroic figures when they score a winning touchdown or basket. The players themselves use war terminology when in reality their games are not war.
Doolittle's Raiders were real heroes because they did their jobs and risked their lives.
I was making fun of the morons who glorify athletes instead of the real working man.
How is it that the Miami Parking Authority allows the cops (non-paying) to steal the spots of paying customers in out lot? It's not bad enough that they park wherever the F the want with no respect for safety or aesthetics? No one should wonder especially not young or old ASA's why most people loathe the cops. It's not a mystery.
Nice write-up on Lyons & Lurvey today in the DBR.
i still think they should post the video. I can't believe nothing will be done. That guy is a f-in coward if he does not make an i/a report. Sure tell clients not to confess and maintain their rights but when you have a chance to show the police they need to learn to treat people right you coward. So next time don't say shit when your client does not have the balls to maintain his rights when your balls are even smaller
