NO PARKING ...NO PEACE

No Parking...No Peace.

Or

No Parking....No Pleas.

Anyway you look at it, the unlawful usurpation of parking spaces in Lot 26 by the myriad of South Florida Police Agencies continues into its second month. Rumors swirl of jackbooted thugs threatening to arrest City Parking Attendants who dare to question the officers authority to park where their agency hasn't secured their right to park.

The outcry last week was admirably met by a quick response by Judges Slom and Soto. (No truth to the rumors that Slom and Soto may be taking their act on the road for summer stock in Connecticut this summer).

But a "we hear you" is one thing....a "problem solved" is something entirely different.

Twitter took down a dictator in Egypt. We are now Twittering (look over there-- to the left, and up a bit) and have our sights set firmly on Lot 26.

Watch out.

Parkers of Lot 26- email your photos today to Rumpole and we will get them up on Twitter and the blog asap.

See You In Court.

What about those who got booted to Lot 18? I want my 26 privileges back so I don't have to risk my car getting dinged or getting stuck trying to get out of the lot.

"jacbooted thugs"? Were city of miami motorcycle cops trying to park in lot 26?

726 life with the hoi poli sucks doesn't it? The great unwashed masses and their dirty cars make life tough when you are tryin to keep your 911 clean. Thats why I bought a NetJets card. Who wants to wait in a security line with those creatins? Not me.

Unconfirmed Rumor

In ABP last Friday, I believe I overheard Judge Slom saying that more attorneys/permit-holders would be moved from lot 26.

There is your solution. Remove more of the pesky, complaining paying customers.

The good news is that I will be closing my practice, and opening up a valet parking service at REG. Bad news is that the valet parkers are all unlicensed defendants, working off their drive legal community service hours.

Rump,

7:26 here. It has nothing to do with being an elitist. I happily fly coach as long as the asshole next to me doesn't hog the armrest or fart. Most of the people parking in that lot have priors and most people that have priors are dumb...smart criminals get arrested a lot less. Hence there is always a stalled line to get out of the lot because the MENSA members forgot to pay first. Great system...

Would that Slom and Soto had half as much power as some of you seem to think they have...........

Rumpole: Everyone hates lawyers... (hard not to when you have to count Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela amongst your ilk). But here's a question for you and your able readers: Who are the five most vile attorneys of the past 300 years? I'll take my answer off the air.

Why is Molina Towing towing taking away cars without lot 26 stickers (except if its a cop, then they dont get towed).

And if a cop ever says he's late for court, call BS on him. Was he stuck in traffic, I doubtit bc they rarely obey traffic laws. Couldnt find parking; doubt it, they usurped lot 26 and the contract with the city and parking permit holders. Its ok, they are the police so they can violate city and civilian contracts.

Dont expect any Judges to get involved, as this is an issue between the city and the illegal parkers (ie cops).

Milty had bond duty and suddenly decided that lunch was more important -- and he canceled the calendar. If another judge didn't bail him out would have had a slew of civil rights violations.

THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

Can you say First Degree Felony ...

The Florida Legislature begins its Spring Session 2011 next week, and that means the crazies (aka any elected official) are out and about.

Here is Senate Bill 1246 filed by our friend Senator Jim Norman, of Tampa. This is Jim's first term in the Senate after spending 18 years on the County Commission in Hillsborough.

(1) A person who enters onto a farm or other property where legitimate agriculture operations are being conducted without the written consent of the owner, or an authorized representative of the owner, commits a felony of the first degree ...

(2) A person who photographs, video records, or otherwise produces images or pictorial records, digital or otherwise, at or of a farm or other property where legitimate agriculture operations are being conducted without the written consent of the owner, or an authorized representative of the owner, commits a felony of the first degree ...

Anyone care to venture a guess what is real motivation behind this bill?

Cap Out ....
