OFFICER WOLFINGER HAS PASSED AWAY

We are receiving reports that Officer Norm Wolfinger, known to many regulars of the REGJB as a longtime DUI officer, has passed away today from self inflicted wounds.

This is a sad and tragic story.

Wolfie was a truly decent man. We can only hope that he's found the peace he deserves.

rump - aren't you surprised that there have not been more high profile suicides in light of the tragic economic circumstances that families endure presently? this madoff crime has affected so many fine families and knowing some of them - they are devastated, some have zero assets left and none of them know where to turn. from what i understand, there is no other remedy other than SIPC (which guarantees $500k on broker fraud issue - which may not even be applicable in this case). what is happening to the morals of our world rumpole? will this economic downturn (recession/depression for some) cause a recalibration of morality? will americans become kinder to their neighbor as jimmy stewart was in "it's a wonderful life"? will our generation be less consumed with the accumulation of material items as we have done for the past 40 years?

rumpole, i ask your faithful blog readers to be kinder to others, to do a kind act unto others and love, hug and cherish your family and friends....

maybe then we will have a chance at being a happy and civilized society.

On a lighter note, does anyone find the program where they take a picture of a vehicle committing an infraction and mail you a "notice of vioaltion" terribly offensive. Registered driver presumed to be driving and you have to hand up your family member or other driver in an affideavit to challenge ticket. Company that owns cameras gets a piece of each issued violation. Only good thing is that they cant give you points or suspend for failure to pay.

Little Brother.

I AGREE. HE ACTED LIKE HE WAS VERY UPSET AND TROUBLED BY HIS LIFE. HE HAD LOTS OF TROUBLE COMMUNICATING WITH LAWYERS.

I AM SORRY FOR HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

TOO MANY COPS RETIRE AND DIE SO SOON AND MANY BY THEIR OWN GUN.
