As we wind down the legal aspects of our life, work, and blogging, we are going to post quotes from time to time to make your day a little better. Bring a smile to your litigation creased face. Warm your soul like written chicken soup, or a well-done knish with grainy mustard.
And we start with a great one on a blog run by a misanthropic blogger and it represents our view of the judiciary and Miami.

"Hell Is Other People": Sartre’s Famous Quote Explained

Rumpole … what are your thoughts about the 2nd and 3rd bullet shots through the left side window of the Minnesota woman who was killed by ICE? Does that modify the narrative from your prospective?
I read a short story with a variation on the Sartre quote--"A Small Town is a Vast Hell." Anybody who grew up in a small town understands the meaning.
@6:17 This killing was awful. The location of the bullet holes is immaterial, in my view. I blame the left for encouraging confrontations with ICE. To the Dems: Stop interfering with ICE. Stop harassing ICE! Stop acting so STUPID! Blame Biden and Harris for failed borders that created this mess. Dems lost the election in part because American voters want secure boarders. Trump is offering $3,000 each to self deport. Take the money, self-deport, and apply for lawful entry to the United States. Help them self-deport! Set up self-deportation centers. Cooperate with ICE!
Brandon Lehman gets to the heart of this issue on his YouTube channel, highly recommended.

Rumpole - what do you think about 6:17?
6:17 - You're so right. The Democrats are responsible for all of ICE's murders of innocent civilians, its detentions of US citizens, its incarcerations in rat-traps of tens of thousands of people whose only crime was having come here (scores of years ago in some cases, oh yeah, even before Biden would you believe), from violent, war-torn, or impoverished countries, contributing hard work and taxes to our society but without having obtained required paperwork. I too always blame the left. Beats introspection every time.
Funniest part of the newest Leftist protests is it's all liberal white women and their feminine liberal men. No minorities, no Somalis, just the privileged liberal whites. I remember you clowns talking about being "allies" to these people, well it doesn't look like they feel the same way. LMAO.
WE GOT SOME CANES OVER HERE! strategy to beat undefeated Indiana for the national championship. I remember seeing the Nebraska football team on Miami Beach and how in shock they were at seeing topless sunbathers. The canes should employ the following as one basis of attack, others should feel welcome to contribute, all is fair in love and war. Bombard the Indiana players with visions of beautiful women as they travel throughout Miami Dade. Hooters girls, strippers, models etc. Have you seen what their cheerleaders look like compared to UM. Distract, distract, distract. Have models hang out in their hotel lobby, rents rooms for beautiful women to sunbathe at the pool. We can do this. WE GOT SOME HOTTIES OVER HERE, WHOOSH, WHOOSH!
Imagine accelerating a car with a police officer potentially in the path and getting shot
Cop did the US a population control service
The wife of the shooting victim threatened the officer and interfered, she will probably be arrested and charged with something. If the cop took two steps to the left and let his buddies follow the car and do a traffic stop a mile down the road, no problems. Macho, macho man, I want to be a macho, macho man.
Legally justified. Not sure how many times the leftists have to hear this but if you threaten physical violence, posture up has if violence is coming, or attack another (as this liberal woman did) then physical violence is what you are going to get. For far too long certain actors on the left seem to think they are justified in whatever actions they take and incidents like this are the result of that mentality.
@10:12 Yea, that sucks. But you should know that their "only crime" is a violation of the rule if law; 8 U.S.C. § 1325 makes it a criminal offense to enter or attempt to enter the United States without authorization. A violation may result in a fine and imprisonment for up to six months for a first offense and up to two years for a subsequent violation.

You know what else sucks? The U.S. Unauthorized Immigrant Population Reached a Record 14 Million in 2023, according to the Pew Research Center. Preliminary data indicates continued growth into 2024 and a decrease in 2025. (Thanks to Trump and ICE)
https://www.pewresearch.org/race-and-ethnicity/2025/08/21/u-s-unauthorized-immigrant-population-reached-a-record-14-million-in-2023/
Another thing that sucks, when one of those 14 million unauthorized immigrants kill someone like Laken Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student, who was attacked and murdered while she was jogging at the University of Georgia on February 22, 2024. "The perpetrator, José Antonio Ibarra, is a 26-year-old Venezuelan man, who had entered the United States illegally.[9] He was arrested by UGA police and charged with 10 counts, including felony murder, malice murder, false imprisonment, aggravated assault with intent to rape, and kidnapping.[10][11][8] Ibarra was found guilty on all charges on November 20, 2024, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.[12]" That sucks for Laken Riley, and it sucks for the American people, who must pay to incarcerate Ibarra for life. It also sucks for the parents of Laken Riley, who must live with the details of their daughter's death, including sexual assault, and murder when José Ibarra smashed her head with a rock. "Riley's watch, which she was wearing at the time, showed that her heart stopped at 9:28 a.m." That really, really sucks.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Laken_Riley
It sucks when unauthorized immigrants take a job or housing from an American. It sucks when unauthorized immigrants get expensive healthcare because a hospital cannot turn them away. It sucks when unauthorized immigrants steal billions of dollars in welfare fraud, like happened in Minnesota. And it sucks for the child of Renee Nicole Good, who is now an orphan, because her idiot mother thought it was a better use of her time to confront an ICE officer who was merely doing his job, rather than to stay home and care for her baby daughter. It sucks.
@10:12, so what is your plan for the 14 million unauthorized immigrants, if not deportation? Do you plan to hire lawyers to represent the 14 million unauthorized immigrants in court? If so, will they get private counsel like DOM, or a plea deal lawyer like poor Americana get? How are you going to schedule hearings for 14 million unauthorized immigrants? Have you ever tried to schedule ONE hearing in our broken court system? If the 14 million unauthorized immigrants are represented by plea deal lawyers, its gonna be hasta la vista MF, go back.
Before you cry for Argentina, how about some compassion for the millions of Americans who end up incarcerated in our dilapidated jails and prisons, because some plea deal lawyer either wasn't paid enough for proper representation, or was incompetent? Millions of mostly poor Americans from violent, crime-torn, or impoverished communities, plagued with drugs, poverty, mental illness, and despair?
And what about our federal law enforcement officers, who you brand all of them as murderers, who are actually doing a very difficult job because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris failed to do their job, and protect America from the invasion of 14 million unauthorized immigrants? ICE officers have families to support, and must deal with idiots like Renee Nicole Good who confront them with malice aforethought.
Obama warned us about unauthorized immigrants, accoring to the Associated Press:
https://apnews.com/article/archive-fact-checking-2477111077
Obama’s 2005 remarks reflect strong stance on controlling immigration
CLAIM: Barack Obama said, "We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country."
AP’S ASSESSMENT: True. The quote comes from a 2005 news conference where Obama, then a U.S. Senator from Illinois, spoke about immigration and those who employ immigrants.
THE FACTS: C-SPAN covered Obama’s December 15, 2005, remarks about stronger borders. The quote, circulating on social media along with a picture of the former president, is part of that speech. A clip from the C-SPAN video was shared earlier this week by President Donald Trump with the caption, "I agree with President Obama 100%!"
Early in the clip, Obama says that Americans are generous and welcoming, but he also notes that those who employ people living in the country illegally "disrespect the rule of the law."
A longer version of the clip shows Obama saying, "securing the borders alone does not solve immigration management."
Yes, we need ICE and deportation! Trump is offering $3,000 each to self-deport. Take the money, self-deport, and apply for lawful entry to the United States. Help them self-deport! Set up self-deportation centers. Cooperate with ICE!
Apparently a company called "Crowds On Demand" pays people to show up at protests, such as protests against ICE, in exchange for $100 for two hours work. You have to bring 2 forms of ID and fill out a 1099 form according to comments I've read online.

12:07 - "potentially in the path"? Doesn't sound like justifiable homicide to me, but I'm just a criminal lawyer.
1:24 - Have you seen the video? Victim was angling her car away, not towards officer. This has been corroborated by the eyewitnesses. Where there is no reasonable suspicion that someone committed violence, their attempt to evade the police does not make them a shooting target. You don't have to be a leftist to view the video and apply quotidian principles of criminal law.
What exactly was the threat made by the victim's wife? What words, accompanied by what actions?
In a town called Minneapolis, cold and quite blue,
Lived folks with opinions, some old and some new.
A lady named Renee, in her car so bold,
Drove into a mess that the stories have told.
She blocked up the agents, with ICE in their name,
Protesting the raids, playing a dangerous game.
Orders were shouted: "Get out, step aside!"
But she revved up her engine, and forward she tried.
The agent stood firm, in the path of her wheels,
A bump and a shot, and the tragedy seals.
Now voices are yelling from left and from right,
Each side spins a tale in the heat of the fight.
The left cries for justice, "Abolish the force!"
While right shouts back, "She chose her own course!"
But was she justified? The facts seem to say no,
Accelerating forward, putting lives in the throe.
Yet claims fly like confetti, wild and askew,
That one side defends her, through and through.
In echoes of outrage, the truth gets misplaced,
Disconnected from reality, in haste.
Oh, the madness of mobs, in their partisan hats,
Twisting the story like cats chasing rats.
Let's seek out the center, where reason can play,
And remember the facts on this wintry day.
What about the idiots who were at the insurrection? Oh yeah- Trump pardoned most of them. Separate rules I guess for Trump supporters.
@12:06-- RE-- Cooperate with ICE! Let me ask you something? If ICE came up to you today and demanded that you show them proof you are a US citizen or asked for ID for no reason-- would you comply?
No brown people dare to protest. When they are gunning down white women, you know they will gleefully murder any others protesting the fascists.
Don't you know
Talking about a revolution?
It sounds like a whisper
And finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' 'bout a revolution

This video, published by Ryan Goodman on January 11, 2026, examines a controversial history of "pretextual" deadly force used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The summary is organized into the following key sections:
The "Secret" 2013 PERF Report
• The Findings: A 2013 report by the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), which CBP initially tried to keep from Congress, found a pattern of agents intentionally putting themselves in the path of moving vehicles [00:24].
• The Pretext: The report concluded that agents used this tactic to create a justification for opening fire, claiming they were in immediate danger [02:30].
• Lack of Accountability: Around the same time, CBP internal affairs admitted they had no record of formally disciplining any member for use of deadly force since 2004 [02:56].
Policy Changes and Safety Risks
• Official Prohibitions: Following media exposure by the LA Times, CBP updated its handbook in 2014 to explicitly state that agents should not place themselves in a vehicle's path [04:18]. Similar policies were adopted by DHS and ICE in 2021 and 2023 [04:53].
• The "Unguided Missile" Theory: Experts cited in the video explain that shooting a driver is ineffective because a bullet won't stop a 4,000-pound vehicle; instead, it turns the car into an "unguided missile" that poses a higher risk to bystanders and other agents [05:50], [06:32].
Modern Context and Recent Incidents
• Ongoing Violations: Goodman references a recent Wall Street Journal report that includes video evidence of ICE agents still pursuing vehicles on foot and moving into their potential paths, appearing to violate existing safety policies [07:32].
• The Need for Cameras: The video concludes by highlighting a 2014 warning from the ACLU: without objective video accounts of use-of-force incidents, written policies are largely ineffective [07:17].
That’s funny. Somalis were out in the streets of Minneapolis handing out warm food. Of course they won’t show that in the echo chamber of fox and the like
What cop walks in front of a car during a traffic stop? And he had his cellphone on, taking video? Called her a "fucking bitch" after shooting her in the head? Says all you need to know about this "cop" and the fascist ICE.
It was a clean shooting
Cops just doing their jobs
Dumb way to die
@9.57 PM. Yes, I would provide my ID immediately upon request to ICE or any other law enforcement officer. I don't leave home without ID. It makes no sense whatsoever to interfere with ICE or any other LE. Crazy to join a group that stalks ICE. I don't see Kamala Harris stalking ICE, she leaves that to the idiots. Horrible waste of life on both sides. You think that ICE officer is happy? He's got to live with his decision forever. He may end up addicted or ending himself. No, I'm not MAGA. Voted NPA.
The officer stepped in front of the vehicle as it was BACKING AWAY from him, then she CHANGED DIRECTION and drove FORWARD into him, and he shot her. Facts matter. Horrible situation. Cops get the benefit of any doubt. Badge, gun, authority. The opinion of civil quaterbackers doesn't matter. Were her tires turned this was or that? Doesn't matter, the cop could not see the tires. He was filming a car going BACKWARDS for evidence. He was in a safe spot because the car was moving AWAY from him. Then she changed direction and DROVE INTO HIM QUICKLY. Split second decision by ICE. No time to watch hours of video from every angle. This is why you DON'T FUCK WITH THE POLICE! Trump Derangement Syndrome has a lot to do with the left's opinions.
EXACTLY!!!
