We have nothing to report except we are really beginning to hate being home-bound, even in our digs.
We do have a big blog related announcement in the works.
In normal times we would written something interesting the other day (April 15) about the death of Abraham Lincoln at 7:22 am the Saturday after Good Friday in 1865, the religious comparisons being very obvious to everyone but the current POTUS who tweeted a "Happy Good Friday" tweet last week.
Edward Stanton, a rival and then Lincoln's Secretary Of War was with the President as he drew he last breaths. A sobbing Stanton said either "Now he belongs to the ages" or "Now he belongs to the angels". The former is preferable for many reasons, including the recognition that Lincoln was larger than life and still casts a long shadow over the presidency. It is Lincoln against which all other presidents are measured for greatness.
We will leave you with a few Lincoln quotes to get you through the day:
Whatever you are, be a good one.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
Nearly all men can stand adversity. But if you really want to test a man's character, give him power.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
When you see something that is not right, not fair, find a way to get in the way and cause trouble. Congressman John Lewis

Thanks for those, Mr. Rumpole.
I still don't understand how we accept that China has sooooo few cases and soooo few deaths.
That the hell is going on here?
Last night FACDL had it first virtual board meeting on zoom. It went very well.
They did have another chat about list/serve etiquette. Seems that Nancy Wear has sturred up yet another hornet' nest and all were asked to not insult her even though there are about 1000 reasons to be very angry with her endless nonsense.
@9:21
1) we don't accept it. They're lying. Their numbers are almost certainly higher than reported.
2) also, they have real lock downs and enforced controls that we would never accept. For example, I have a supplier (non-law business obviously) that told me that in his city everyone was issued color coded badges that must be worn if you go outside. The colors correspond to whether you have not had the virus, are actively testing positive, or have tested positive and are now recovered. I did not omit "untested" as a color category. That was, apparently, not an option.
So, yes, we will certainly have more cases because, freedom isn't free.
Don’t forget it’s still Red China-commies
I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts. Abraham Lincoln
