Former circuit judge Howard Gross was the mouse and he passed away last month. He was interesting as hell and the plea conferences in his chambers were legendary. His judicial career ended in controversy but he was an excellent judge, a good friend, a great father, husband and a wonderful influence on many young lawyers. Nobody who knew him forgot him. May he rest in peace.
