A NEW YEAR

Be at war with your vices;
At peace with your neighbors;
and let every new year find you a better man person.

Benjamin Franklin.

Have a happy and prosperous new year.
And hopefully you have followed our number one rule of trials: never ever ever set a case for trial for the first week of the new year. Judges and prosecutors return with new year's resolutions of getting tough on crime and trying more cases and handing out harsher sanctions dancing in their heads like visions of candy canes and free drinks and meals.

Hello all and I won't be thinking of any of you as Ring in the new year with my 6 ft Nordic girlfriend at Noma, in Cooenhagen. Just the best restaurant in the world. Well- i will be thinking of Kenny. He will be jealous as he eats at the sizzler on south beach. Get the onion rings with the 6.95 sirloin. Ha ha ha. I will win the survivor pool next year !

Don't knock the sizzler at 4 am for the munchies. We all can't fly to Cooenhagen for dinner.

rump, what happened to my comment about professionalism and civility.

Didn't you try an Attempted Murder case right after the New Year several years ago Rump? A nice not guilty if I remember based upon a mistaken identity.

I thought Copenhagen was a Haagen-Dazs ice cream store in Copans Road.

is there still a sizzler on south beach?

It sounds crazy, but for the best NYE party, come out to Metro West.

It's the only time of the year (that I know about) that DOC lets alcohol into the Contact Room.

Plus, it should be livelier now that women are being housed there. I make a point to visit all my clients charged with introducing contraband into the jail (the guys who get the good stuff) and all my South Beach russian prostitutes and bar girls.

It's a blast and a great way to ring in the new year.

Odd that Ben Franklin would urge one to be at war with one's vices. Old Ben must have loved waging a multi front and largely unsuccessful war. The better quote in this genre is what Churchill said about Clement Atlee: the man has all the virtues I detest and none of the vices I admire!

Lawyers post/comment an unbelievable amount of shit in legal blogs like this one.

From the NOMA Copenhagen website:

"Dear guests, Our restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday. We accept reservations via an online system and phone. At the moment, reservations are open through the 20th of December (the restaurant will be closed for the holidays).

Restaurant Noma will be closing for the winter holidays after dinner service on the 20th of December. We will be re-opening in Copenhagen on the 24th of March of 2015, after our trip to Japan."

Dinner New Years Eve was for friends and good customers. It was not open to the normal riff raff like yourself who clumsily try and stuff a hundred dollar bill into Jacques' hand to get in the door. My friend Kenny can attest to that. Let me say my favorite dish was the grilled octopus with the Uni foam butter A close second as the truffle oil crustini topped with truffle slices and a dollop of fresh made ricotta. The Chilean sea bass in a champagne South African lobster sauce was beautiful - served as thin slices medallions of goodness and the twin dishes of Kobe beef tartare and blue fin tuna tartare were just fantastic. All in all a great meal your peons will never experience.

Copenhagen?! It's practically a cemetery, even the hookers and drug dealers are in bed asleep at 9pm.

Noma was started by two chefs; René Redzepi and Mads Refslund. Mr. Refslund is now wielding his spatula in the New York Bowrey at Acme. Let the fat former judges brag about places they didn’t go to, NYC is just a short flight away.
