Dear Friends,
As we approach the holiday season this year, a time filled with festivities, excitement and family, we will sadly be marking one full year without our dear friend, Richard A. Sharpstein. With the hope of honoring his memory and his wishes for the holiday season, I invite you to celebrate Richard’s life and work on Thursday, December 11th at 11:30 AM in Court Room 4-1 of the R.E.G. Justice Building, 1351 NW 12th Street, Miami, Florida 33125.
While Washington is dysfunctional, our understanding is that the costs of this was paid for by private donations from Assistant State Attorneys, the FACDL, and the League of Prosecutors.
Well done all. Well done indeed.
For those of us who were friends and colleagues of Sharpie, this is a hard video to watch:

Nancy Wear did it again. She insulted the Paul Huck clan in an email to the entire FACDL. Here we go again. Time for yet another Nancy Wear war on the list serve.

the proverbial great guy in every sense of the word. It was a pleasure trying cases against him as there was never a dull moment. It was even more of a pleasure just to have known the man.
RIP Richard A. Sharpstein - the kindest man I've ever known and the finest lawyer this community has ever seen. You left us too soon and are missed dearly. You selflessly touched the lives of thousands and will never be forgotten.

I am not publishing all the comments. If you don't see yours email me and I will explain why although this alone should really make you understand.
the video is so hard to watch! i think that richard had the most charisma of any person that i ever met. it is so sad to have lost such a bright star. i will never forget the impact that richard had on me and our entire justice system.

A mensch is a someone to admire and emulate, someone of noble character. The key to being "a real mensch" is nothing less than character, rectitude, dignity, a sense of what is right, responsible, decorous. (Rosten, Leo. 1968. The Joys of Yiddish. New York: Pocket Books. 237)
No higher praise.

Then why did you publish the one about Nancy Wear insulting the Huck family?
Richard Sharpstein was a class act because he always made the little people feel important. RIP friend, you did good work.
