NFL WEEK 15 2010

We're going to try and get back on track with some old favourites, specifically the Eagles, in New Jersey, getting 3 points playing the Giants. Risking 300 Andy Reids on this game.

We also like the Saints at the Ravens. The Ravens barely squeaked out an OT win last Monday night, while the Super Bowl Champs are peaking at the right time and are fighting for the division with the Falcons. The Saints have more to lose here and are the better team. We'll take the Saints getting 1.5 in our battle with Mr. Markus and we'll also risk 300 Brees to boot.

Houston at Tennessee. The number here is 47.5 and that seems high so we'll take the under for 300 as well.

It's been another tough week at the REGJB so forgive us if we are lacking in the normal Joie de Vivre. The year can't end quickly enough and hopefully good times and healing times are ahead in the new year.

My Dear Rumpole:
There is a football game being played in Davie, Florida this early afternoon.

May I relate this information to you?

Miami has the Dolphins
(and I aver that they are) The Greatest Football team!
(How is that you ask? Why...) They take the ball from goal to goal; like no one's every seen!!
(but there is more to this analysis)
They're in the air
they're on the ground
(and what is the effect of this display of a varied offense?)
They're always in control!
(therefore, there is an inescapable conclusion to this)
When You say "MIAMI"
you're talking SUPER BOWL!!

There's an inescapable sweet logic to the Earl's learned comment this morning.

PS- If you want to see the Louiska Polite Cheer done correctly, everyone stop by section 410 and watch it done right. We'll be doing it all game, unlike those fancy pants fly by night fans in the club seats.

Rump= we're at the Bar Finnegans on Lincoln Road and we're debating the use of the word Bete noire. Any help would be appreciated.

Step aside Rumpole, this is our milieu.

First Bete Noire is not a word, it is a term. The term is used to refer to an object or abstract idea that is particularly disliked or avoided. It can be used to describe a person in a position, eg- Judge Miller is the Bete Noire to Defendants.

The origin is French and translates as "black beast."

Rump- on an unrelated term, we're generally uncomfortable entering the last few weeks of the year without having our contract renewed. Any movement on that front?

Rump, what about America's Team? YOUR Jacksonville Jaguars playing for the division title in Indy? Is this our UPSET SPECIAL?

And as to the Redskins and Rex Grossman starting. Well if he is the answer, I for one, would LOVE to know the question. Revitalized Cowboys roll, proving that your constant criticism over the last few years about Vanilla Phillips being the worst coach in football was spot on correct.
