DRILL BABY DRILL

Here is Sarah Palin talking about "environmentally safe and friendly" off shore drilling during the Presidential campaign.

Here is Sarah Palin today reminding the liberal environmentalists why she always wanted to drill only in safe on-shore sites:

Xtreme Greenies: see now why we push 'drill, baby, drill' of known reserves & promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?" the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote Tuesday evening on her Twitter account.

The woman is an arrant liar.

There is a reason why John McCain isn't President today. And part of that reason was his choice to put that woman one heartbeat away from being the most powerful person on earth.

Scary, isn't it?

Hat tip to Keith Olbermann who absolutely roasted Palin tonight on Countdown. We'll get the video up as soon as MSNBC posts it.

And another thing- all these supposedly free market republicans are attacking Obama for not forcing BP to do more to help the fisherman in Louisiana. These are the same neo cons who voted for the easing of restrictions on oil companies and a 75 million cap on liability. You can't have it both ways. Either the free market works and government should leave big business alone - or we live in a socialist state and government should step in and solve this problem. Which is it?

And how strange is it that Obama the socialist has so far not taken over the effort to stop the oil leak from BP? We think this is a wise decision because despite the problems, BP has the dedicated technology and scientists in place.

This leak is a tragedy that could have been prevented, no doubt.
But one upshot of all this will be for British Petroleum to look around and realize that it was very bad piece of luck for them that this didn't happen two years ago when the gang that couldn't shoot straight was handling the executive office. Because now BP, Transocean, and Haliburton will be staring down the barrel of some serious lawyers. And as fast as you can say "qui tam," some litigation will be coming down the bayou. For once every Gremillion, Guidry , and LeBlanc will be happy to see some pencil-neck geeks with brief cases coming to Terrebonne Parish ready to file ass-kicking briefs that should tie up the industry from now until the mess is cleaned up.
BP, Transocean, and Haliburton, buy them stocks short. As to the DOJ boys and girls, well let's hope they pick up some good etouffee recipes while they're down there in Ville Platte or Grand Isle because it will take a while to break down the corporate big guys, but they will. And while not everyone will be made whole who is damaged by this debacle, the corporations will pay to the point of deep pain.
Another piece of toast that everyone should applaud is agency capture. Corporate America will take longer to recover from this than the Gulf environment.
Oh yeah, I would buy short on the careers of all those fools that thought that drilling would bail out the pathetic economic planning of the last forty years by this State's leaders.
Times will be tough for a while, but at least the short sighted morons that have refused to allow forward thinking in our nation's energy policy will have to go back under the rock they crawled out form under.

And many Republicans view Palin as a viable presidential candidate in 2012.........if she gets nominated, Obama wins in a landslide a la 1964, 1972 and 1984.

Don't you think it would be appropriate to have a separate Justice Building Blog for all of the liberal ranting. It could be called "The Obama Chapel." Folks could write in and point out the various wonderful things that President Obama has done that day and all the loathsome, criminal, immoral, pedifilic, nasty things that all of those bad Republicans and conservatives have done teh same day.
It really is boring as hell to have 50 percnt of the Blog taken up with that crap and the endless whining about what a pimp and whore the PD is.
To appease the nasty, sniveling, pigshit conservatives, you could have a listying each day as to how much debt our children and grandchildren will have as a result of the Washington spending spree. VTY Let Them Eat Cake Charlie

11:12 - and just why are we spending all this money?

Let's see, deregualation, tax cuts when we are building a surplus and actually paying down the national debt, going into an illegimtate and still very costly war (after the tax cuts) all passed and forced upon us by "loathsome, criminal, immoral, pedifilic, nasty" Republicans. But of course that was the plan all along. They have been trying to undo the New Deal for the past 75 years.

We should name them "Mr. and Ms. Rollback"

'hat tip is a strange saying. please try not to use it again.

" - or we live in a socialist state and government should step in and solve this problem."

In a socialist state, the government steps in but does not solve the problem. Instead, it worsens the current problem and creates new and worse problems.

hey 11:12, you moron you, do you realize that "washington spending spree" you talk of was at republican hands??? Trillion dollars for Iraq and half a trillion for medicare? You think that is the "liberals" in Washington? Think again asshole.

Dead in Gaza flotilla attack include an American citizen, shot once in chest and 4 times in head from close range by Netanyahu/Lieberman gangsters. Something has to be done about this.

I'm not very comfortable printing a comment in which someone wishes that a public figure would be killed. The last thing I need is the feds snooping around my blog. So I didn't print your comment.
Sorry.

That american should not have been on the boat with those sand eating terrorists. Nothing will be done because we don't give a rats ass about terrorists or their friends. Don't forget 911.

We need to drill so we don't have to deal as much with radicals who hate our way of life. this oil spill has ruined so m$any lives and makes us more vulnerable as a country.
Muslims are scary people. They don't drink and they treat their women like pigs. In other words, they don't honor hot girls who like to get wasted and hook up with patrons at strip clubs. Israel just wants to preserve their way of life and if a few thousand innocent suicide bombing sympathizers get killed so be it

And the newest County Criminal Court Judge replacing Judge Jose Fernandez is (drumroll please)....
Judge Jacqualine Schwartz (according to her Bailiff). She will be assuming her duties in the next month or so. Welcome to Judge Schwartz.

Thanks for your comment Dick Cheney. Remind me to stay away from "sand-eating terrorists" because I guess the U.S. government should not bother to investigate my death if the Israelis decides to shoot me in the head from close range four times.

The Israeli's are slipping badly. Do you think Meir, Begin or Dayan would have participated in such a hamhanded and stupid operation? Considering the high risk to reward ratio this looks like the type of shit Bush would have pulled and it comes on the heels of the disastrous attack on Hezbollah a couple of years ago. The days of Entebbe, the Iraq nuclear facility and the revenge of Munich appear to be gone forever. The sight of Israeli commandos getting the shit kicked out of them by a bunch of sailors with pipes for nothing requires the immediate resignation of Netanyahu.

I will skip the comments on Drill Baby Drill by the Quitter, Palin. I will skip the comments about Arab Oil and 9 Eleven.
But I need to say that JIMMY CARTER was RIGHT back in the late 1970s when he tried to turn our Gov't and American society to the idea of alternate fuels and conservation to free us, The USA and the Worl, from Oil addiction and Blackmnail from APEC.
He had Congress inact tax credits and R & D monies for electric, solar, wind and even nuclear energy. Had those measures been left in place, instead of made fun of by Republicans and Stopped by the Reagan Administration; WE could have been driving electric cars NOW and using solar in the Sun Belt to power at least HALF our current energy demands.
But NOOOO that graduate of Anapolis, that US Navy Nuc Engineer on a Nuc sub, he was just a uninformed, ignorant Southern hick who was anti-military and a wimp, said Ronny.

353 if you are on a boat with a terrorist and you get your brains blasted in a conflict with Isreal-then that's the way the ball bounces g. isreal is our friend. their country was given to them by the rest of the free world and when they were invaded they kicked the fuck out out their invaders and bit off a little extra land. that's what happens in war when you win. im an independent non jew and i stand with isreal. they are a country with hot chicks and they love their own freedoms. and btw- obama is not going to turn against Isreal so keep dreaming.

Please! Keith Olberman is an asshole. I stopped watching him after his rant about Hillary during the presidential campaign. Hmm.... maybe it's women - naw - I hate Palin too.

If Jackie Schwartz is taking over for Joe Fernandez, we should all be running for the hills. She is the epitome of bipolar. I shudder at the thought of seeing her beehive quivering from her latest incomprehensible rant.

Obama is doing nothing re the oil disaster. Today he'll have a his second photo op and then leave for yet another vacation. By talking about Palin you are attepting to deflect attention from Obama's inaction. This "From day one.." nonsense is also a pack of lies.
