SUPER SUNDAY

UPDATE: If you had Warren Sapp in your arrest pool, you win! Booking Info here.
The Ex-Hurricane and Tampa Bay Buc (and Oakland Raider) was arrested Saturday night in a domestic dispute. Who's going to use his SB Ticket? Do they get to watch the whole game at TGK or is it lights out before it ends?

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY IN MIAMI.
Doesn't get any better than this. While you're enjoying "chamber of commerce weather" we managed to squeak out of DC and get out here to Nevada.

Who will win the Super Bowl? Forget about points for a minute. Defense and running wins championships. Pure and simple. That means tonight at Joe Robbie-Pro Player-Dolphins- Jimmy Buffet Beer- Sun Life Stadium (did we miss any? ) at about 9:35 pm., the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS will be hosting the seven pound sterling silver Vince Lombardi Trophy. (Football spouses click here for a brief bio of coach Lombardi).

Because the Saints will win, you do not need the points. The money line on the Saints is anywhere from +160 to +180, so lets call it +175 which means you get 175 Brees for every po boy bet.

Point line: If you can get 57 consider going over, although we like the under. Most point lines appear to be 60-62. Could the game be 35-31? Sure. But we think 28-17 Saints is a more likely score so put as down as under.

How will the Saints beat the Mannings? Pressure. Then no pressure. Then pressure again. Manning doesn't like being hit. So just like they did last week, the Saints will put some helmets on Manning early and often. And then in a 3rd and 14 when Peyton is expecting a blitz again, the Saints will send 2 or 3 and drop 8-9 into coverage and get a pick. Zone blitzes mixed with a dime defense is the way to go. Man on Reggie Wayne and dare the Mannings to run the ball. That's the way you beat this team.

You've been waiting for this: Guaranteed Coin Flip lock: Heads.

Who scores first?Colts on a field goal.
Who scores last? Saints to ice the game.

Special REGJB Super Bowl Props:

How many juries will be picked Monday (+125) versus TDs scored (-115)?

(lay 115 to get a 100 if you pick TDs scored versus getting 125 for every 100 if you pick trials. ie- more TDs are the favourite pick)

Have fun, enjoy the game, don't eat too many wings (Rumpole is on a diet unfortunately, down 4 pounds this week! email me if you want the details) and we will see you in court during the week.

Rumpole, you stupid sonnabitch. But remember folks, I am offering my RUMPOLE HALF VIG SPECIAL until 6 PM today. Mention RUMPOLE when, uh, doing a business transaction with me, and if you lose, I only take you for half the vig. Lay a Benjamin and lose, you only have to cough up an extra five as opposed to a sawbucks. Capice?

PS--Thanks to Rumpole and his buddies, I will be enjoying a nice trip to Sicily starting next week. Two Fingers Tony and crew will be collecting in my absence.

"Sapp told investigators he let the woman stay in his room but asked her to leave a few hours later because he was expecting company. He told police the woman fell on her leg when he tried to help her get off a couch." Rule #1. Don't tell your woman she gotta go because you're expecting company. She may become suspicious and hostile. Rule #2. Don't make any statements. Sounds like Warren had to redirect her to the ground in self defense.

So, the Monroe SAO gave Mark Panunzio a no jail deal.

Is that really so unusual?

It is what most get for that kind of case.

I hope this time Mark stops drinking and does well in the future.

I wonder if Mark can continue to practice law as a convicted felon? Unfortunately, DUI felonies are mandatory adjudications.

I would need a Commodore 64 to tally how many of us have driven (drive) when we shouldn't have.

How many PD parties? How many sweaty nights at Biscayne Baby? How many happy hours at Monty's Village Inn, The 1800 Club or The Alibi drinking LI Iced Teas?

Most of us (including judges) were lucky to make it to our driveways without hurting ourselves or someone else.

Let's keep this in perspective and not use the opportunity to dump on Mark or his lawyers. Mark still has a long way to go, and his recovery will go on for a while.

Good Luck, Nunz.

Congratulations dear friend on losing the four pounds.

I've known Nunz for almost twenty years (going back to my days as a prosecutor). Nunz is a great guy. I loved having cases against him.......he was fun to work with and is a straight shooter (one of the few guys I've ever litigated against in any capacity whose word I could take to the bank). Regardless of what he's done, I wish him nothing but the best.

Dumping on him, like many of you did to some of the others similarly charged, is pathetic. He never set out to hurt anyone and there's no reason to revel in his pain/difficulties. It amazes me how many defense attorneys, who routinely take pride in their caring for the weak and downtrodden and make a living defending murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc., are so quick to pile on guys like Nunz. Truly disgusting.

Good bless you Nunz. This too shall pass. Be strong.

Fact: When his mom asked him, Jesus brought wine to a party.

Fact: At the last supper, Jesus changed wine into his blood.

Fact: Jesus's dad gave us the gift of reason.

Fact: Reason allowed the invention of the car.

Conclusion: If you love Jesus, drink and drive.

Damn! I had that Mike Golic would be arrested!

Unfortunately a felony conviction means an automatic 2 year suspension from the practice of law. I'll miss you Mark!
