Broward County is going back to in person only court hearings. Of course they are. Zoom makes life too easy for lawyers and clients and Broward Judges CANNOT HAVE THAT. Rule Number 1 of Fight Club is that you don't mention Fight Club. Rule Number 1 in Broward is "No lawyer or litigant shall have an enjoyable experience in Broward Court." The corollary being "We will make you miserable." The second corollary of Broward being "If it makes your life easier, we will put a stop to that."
There is an admirative order floating around, but it is NOT on the Broward 17th Judicial Circuit Website (found at 666.com). And since we are in Miami, we can safely have a little fun with the "No Fun Allowed" county of Florida.
Of course Broward is about do to this when the Miami Herald is reporting a new, more severe, and more contagious form of the Virus that Must Not Be Named in Broward (VTMNBNIB).
True or False- The Administrative order says masks are voluntary? *
T/F The Administrative order prohibits any and all litigants from mentioning the supposed efficacy of a vaccine?
T/F The Administrative order has a fine schedule for lawyers who try to appear by Zoom after it goes into effect?
T/F The Administrative order obliquely references that the last presidential election was stolen?
T/F The Administrative order calls the pandemic "The China Flu"?
Zoom has made the practice of law so much easier. A lawyer in West Palm can appear in Broward or Dade or Port St Lucie on a motion to compel discovery, or a report re plea, at 9 am, and be on their Peloton by 10 am.
The Broward Judiciary knows this, and it has driven them crazy for more than two years.
Broward County- the no fun, make life harder, don't wear a mask and don't mention vaccines - County.
If the Judges North of the Border have their way, this is what the line to get into their courthouse will be on a daily basis. Nothing will make them happier than seeing this from their chambers in their new swanky courthouse.
* As if you need the answers, the first one is true. The rest are false as near as we can determine.
GOOD MORNING MIAMI HEAT FANS
ReplyDeleteit's a glorious day isn't it?
Unfortunately the Boston Celtics went up 2-1 over the Miami Heat...woops, silly me, the Heat AREN'T IN THE FINALS...over the Golden State Warriors. And thanks Rump for posting this because the phony front running heat fans stop watching basketball after the heat are eliminated. Now they are watching the Marlins...well, lets not get crazy. The Miami fans won't go to a marlins game until Game six of the world series. So it's on to the Miami Dolphins (Fins Up!-- what a stupid slogan) until they go 2-3 and then...well, there's always south beach.
Check the comments after every game so I can insult you heat phony phans after every game. it's almost as good as a Celtics win.
Top O The Morning To Ya!

ReplyDeleteWe should definitely be concerned.’ Miami-Dade’s COVID-19 cases, positivity rates soar
June 10, 2022 11:28 AM
With a new wave of omicron COVID cases surging in Miami-Dade County, the percent of local positive tests, known as the positivity rate, has soared, representing a fourfold increase since April and likely an undercount due to at-home testing.
On Monday, Miami-Dade County’s seven-day average COVID-19 positivity rate rose to 22 percent, up from a 5 percent rate on April 8, according to the county’s COVID-19 Daily Dashboard. The latest number is nearing the rates at the height of the omicron surge in January, when positivity rates scaled 35%.
“We should definitely be concerned now,” said Mary Jo Trepka, an infectious disease epidemiologist and professor at Florida International University. “In fact, we should have been concerned several weeks ago.”
Hahahah there is only one lawyer on the building wearing a mask , rumpole. These mask rules are blowing his cover !
DeleteWhat’s worse - A broward judge or a heat fan ?
ReplyDeleteUhho For professor Trepka. She’s gonna have some broward judges massively pissed off. Don’t go to broward professor.
ReplyDelete"There is an admirative order floating around, but it is NOT on the Broward 17th Judicial Circuit Website (found at 666.com)."
ReplyDeleteNo, but they were kind enough to post the latest positive COVID cases and exposures in the courthouse.

What will the typical person in miami be doing tonight ? Not one in ten thousand will be watching the NBA playoffs game. If they walk into a bar they are more likely to ask the bartender to put on the Khardashian show before asking for a basketball game that the heat aren’t in.
ReplyDeleteSuch is Miami.
Well, then, all those bigshot mover-and-shaker lawyers who schmooze with the judges and fund their campaigns should raise a stink about keeping ZOOM. Do those lawyers want to keep ZOOM? Or do they want to return in-person only hearings too as a way to inflate billable hours?
ReplyDeleteNow is the good moment to recall a kinder gentler time, when we sat around the campfire singing "Miami loves Migna" songs.
