Lost in all the hubbub and contretemps over A Rose By Any Other Name, is that the Florida Supreme Court DENIED the Florida Bar's emergency motion to suspend Bruce Jacobs. But the fight goes on and we wish Mr. Jacobs well (maybe cut back a bit on the size of those appendices to start. Everyone knows Judges do not like to read).
We recently traveled and approximately 30-40% of people on planes were wearing masks. Dumb. Dumber. Dumbest. Dead. Declinate the D's of not wearing masks.
Vicki White, the corrections officer who helped an inmate escape has died of a self inflicted gunshot wound after being captured. We were sort of rooting for her.
F1? F-Off. Not for us. But rumor is that Dolphin Owner Stephen Ross made more on this past weekend's F1 race then he will for the whole 2022 NFL season.
Raul Julia's portrayal of the defense attorney in Presumed Innocent is just remarkable. We had occasion to watch it again over the weekend, and it is too often neglected. The line about having more than enough unsubstantiated allegations for one case is just classic. Julia died way too young at age 56 or so.
Deputy Sheriff Vicky White died - but not by a self inflicted gun shot. I would submit to you that her escaped murderer “husband” shot her in the head when the car flipped. He was to much of a pussy to then kill himself. It was a failed murder suicide pact. Yes Rumpole??
ReplyDeleteRumpole. Maybe you could clarify exactly what you were rooting for in Vicky White. That she wasn’t a willing participant? Or that she would get away with assisting the escape of Casey White, a man who was convicted of nine charges back in 2019 including trying to kill his ex girlfriend, kidnapping her two roommates, robbery, burglary, etc. He is serving 75 years on that case. And he was awaiting trial for a capital murder case accused of stabbing a 59 year old women to death. A crime he has confessed to. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in that case. Please enlighten us.
ReplyDeleteWe also passed on the F1. Too much noise for us.
I don’t condone what she did. She just seemed like a bored middle age person taking a wild and misguided shot at happiness. Maybe rooting for her was not right. Sad for her and wanting better for her is more correct.
ReplyDeleteShe bought some sex aids in an adult sex shop. Guess she wanted some sexual excitement with a 6'9' well hung male. There was never going to be a good ending for her. But I love that Alabama sheriff. Typical prototype of a small country alabama sheriff. Right out of central casting.
ReplyDeleteI bet she "fell" for him and did some stupid stuff to help him.
ReplyDeleteIn any event, this was a tragedy.
Great video of scene from Presumed Innocent.
ReplyDelete"Everyone knows Judges do not like to read"
ReplyDeleteIsn't that what clerks and staff attorneys are for?
Rumpole. To be honest with you - I thought Vicky White was very sexy and hot. I never dated a woman that loved me enough to sell her house, spend all her money on me, drive the car, pay for the vacation hotel, go to a sex toy store, give up her job, ditch her mom, wear hot wigs … and then kill herself after 11 days of great sex. Is it me? Am I the weird one?? (Quoting Jeff “the vomit guy”)
ReplyDeleteDon’t I deserve love?

I wasn't rooting for her per se, but I always think it's interesting to see how people think they can outsamrt other people and I like to see when they do. Or when they realize they're not as samart as they think.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like lots of planning had gone into this but yet they were brought down. Hadn't planned for 1st car breaking down, security cameras in car wash, soemone recognizing a 6'9" man with sleeve tatoos?
I'm also wondering where the rest of the cash from her home sale went? Is it in a package at a a Canadian postal store locker waiting for them to pick it up?
Thought I could enlighten you as to wearing masks on planes. The air on planes is not recycled instead have HEPA filters and brought in through the rear and out the front. Don't believe me? Ok how about NG:
