MONDAY MARCH 16 2020 SECOND UPDATE NEW COURT ROOM SCHEDULE

UPDATE: HEY 19- Yesterday we supported criminalizing the use of the song I Sharona during this difficult time. We neglected to add the song "Hey 19" to the list of songs we do not want to hear used for song paradies during this time.

UPDATE: COUNTY COURT CRIMINAL TO CLOSE EXCEPT FOR JAIL DIVISIONS AND BOND HEARINGS for next two weeks. All traffic infractions canceled for two weeks.
Judges will rotate to handle emergency motions like motions to set aside Bench Warrants.
DV and civil are not covered by this. We are working on what is going on there.

Bailiffs and hourly employees are facing issues: They do not get paid unless the State closes the court system, which has not occurred. If the State of Florida does not authorize funding Bailiffs, hourly employees  then their pay is up in the air right now, as well as County employees like State PDs and ASAs on Dade County payroll.

We are still working on Juvenile Dependency and Delinquency courts and employees.

Sayfie heeds our call and steps up and sets a judicial rotation. Well done Judge.

Good afternoon all,

I hope this email finds you well. Please see the following Operational Plan for REG for the week of March 16-20. It is also being included as an attachment. This is being sent on behalf of Administrative Judge Nushin Sayfie. Please do not hesitate to contact either Judge Sayfie or myself with questions or concerns. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Criminal Division during this challenging time.

  2. How in the world am I supposed to know that? I don't even know who that is. Never heard her name before. When did she become a judge??

  3. Rump two suggestions- First bring back Sam Slom. Designate him court Covid Czar. Give him full authority to fill out scheduling and run the court houses. Let Soto do hearings. Let Slom run the show.

Second....nah. One is good enough. Sam can save us.
