ICE MEMO

It's getting cold.....brrrrr....Icy as it were.
ICE (Motto: "Deport em all, let Mexico sort it out") is coming for your client.
In the courthouse.
Arrests in the courtroom. In the courthouse. And if you speak up, why they may just deport you with your client.
So, in the words of our brilliant, constitutional-scholar-President, "STFU and stand aside while we deport them to their sh*t-hole countries. "

From Occupied America, where there is soon going to be plenty more room, Fight the Power! The Eagles beat the evil empire, so why can't we?

  1. Again, feel free to travel to Guyana or Somalia or any of these shitholes and explain to the people living there, who are desperately waiting for a VISA to travel to the United States, that they have to wait because your dumb-ass client (presumed innocent of the burglary that violated his probation for burglary) should be allowed to skip the line with zero consequences and assume US citizenship by default, because... you know... he's here.

Fuck that. Queuing is a hallmark of civilization. I know Rump would be pissed if some other lawyer jumped his place in line to the podium in REG, but 15 million people around the world, truly suffering, are supposed to merely cede their spots here to line-cutters.

Good for ICE. I hope, before deportation, your idiot client has to write a letter of apology to the embattled African or South American whose spot he took these last years.

  2. In these politically charged days where you could have a mob on your hands for a simple arrest, you'd be an idiot to tell your agents to make arrests in the community where someone could get hurt, when you can get the same person in a secure place all on video. It's just a fact that those who supervise law enforcement make policy to protect the safety of their own, even where the effects are less than ideal for others. Rump if you were head of ice and make the contrary policy, and the rank and file said what about our safety, what would you say? Sorry, tough potatoes? You risk your life -- that's your job?

I guess it's easy for you to be critical because you're not the guy out there that would have to risk his/her life.

    1. This was meant to say “powers that be, to fix”.

Thanks Rumpole. It looks like they read your blog as well and haven’t been able to use the civil mobile search in months.

  6. There's absolutely nothing wrong with ICE picking up illegal aliens in courthouses. Wanted people get picked up in courthouses every day.
The problem with all of this is how the innocent children of illegal aliens end up in a mess when mom and dad get picked up. It's even crazier when the kids were born here and are citizens.
We could stop much of this by not allowing children born here by illegal alien parents any citizen rights. As liberal as I am, I favor that.
As for the million or so already hear for more than 10 years, let them stay and make them permanent residents with no right to citizenship unless they go 10 years with no felony convictions.

Even as a defense lawyer, I wonder why anyone wants illegal aliens here who commit felonies or tons of minor crimes.

  7. What do the Miami lawyers think about ex-Judge Flores going after Donna Shalala?

    1. Donna shalala is a corrupted old bag. Seriously she is in her 80s. Yet if she enters the race her name recognition alone wins it. Not to mention the money. All of Barzee’s attacks are correct but it is not smart to poke a tiger in the eye.

    1. 6:48 here and using a phone with a bad case of auto-Incorrect. Still haven’t figured out how to turn on my computer.
In order to access the civil records search from a phone, you need to use the mobile search. I don’t usuallky carry my desktop pc with me throughout the day and usually rely on my phone. Specifically while I’m in court and need to check a docket for a pleading (Yes, you can see civil pleadings online).
When you try to conduct a search from the mobile website, you get an error. This has been going on for over 6 months. Just trying to see if maybe someone who can fix it, reads this blog and does so.
      No hard feelings either way.

  9. We should have a reciprocity rule. We will apply the same rules to every country that they would apply to Americans if we wanted to emigrate there. Problem solved.

  13. Herald article about Judge Maria Ortiz' husband being arrested for corruption charges. Husband is a building inspector for Miami Beach and enjoyed lots of freebies from a hotel chain that did business on the Beach. Ortiz and the hubby given nice vacation suites for free and Ortiz states she didn't know. Didn't bother to ask.

Just like Zabel didn't know anything when her hubby got arrested for white collar crimes. Suddenly she was out of her financial mess and didn't bother to ask.

  14. We are Americans! We do things our way and we don't hurt defenseless children. If you don't like America and the traditions that have made us the greatest country of all time than you can go to Italy or Israel or any other country you want to copy. I'm sure Reagan and Wayne would kick 1203,1250,232, squarely between the legs.

  15. 9:13pm, try this on your phone:

    Google "miami dade docket"

Click on the second search result "Miami-Dade County Civil, Family, and Probate Courts Online System" (NOT the "OCS" first result)

When the "Civil/Family/Probate Mobile" page loads, click on "View Full Civil, Family & Probate Site" toward the bottom of what you see on the screen

Select "Standard Search" on the next screen, and you should be good to go

  16. Just a reminder that we should be hearing from Gov Scott in the next few days as to who our two newest County Court judges will be:

    COUNTY COURT

The JNC sent two names to Scott to replace Judge Ivonne Cuesta and Judge Laura Ann Stuzin. They were both recently elevated to the Circuit Court. The 12 names that have been sent to Governor Scott are:

Milena Abreu (current candidate for County Court Judge)
    Ramiro Areces
    Karl Brown
Laura Cruz (current candidate for County Court Judge)
    Raul Cuervo
    Christina DiRaimondo
    Peter Heller
    Elijah Levitt
    Jonathan Meltz
    Julie Harris
Luis Perez-Medina (current candidate for Circuit Court Judge)
    Natalie Rico

  17. prosecutors are always in the running. top picks are diramondo and cruz

  18. Heller and Brown are the top choices. Areces (the son) is as unqualified as his Amway selling Mother was when she ran and beat Bruce Levy. SHe was never in the courtroom in her life, and the son is equally unqualified. No trials, much less Jury trials. No litigation experience ect. But the bench is the poorest it has ever been. We need about 28 HANZMANS to sit on the bench. But those a few and far between.

  19. While several of the candidates would make fine judges, I hope Meltz gets it. I had cases against him back in the day when I was a prosecutor..............and found him to be one of the most caring and honorable people I've ever met. He'd be a great judge.
