Miami lawyer and frequent REGIB habituate Joaquin Perez has been barred from entering Colombia. That's the country, not the University on the upper west side of Manhattan (which is spelled Columbia btw). Perez is now abogado non grata in Colombia and the prisons in which narco-traffickers are being held pending extradition to the United States.
The Herald in this article says that Miami lawyers are flying to Colombia, and making lots of money getting deals for people who are being held pending extradition to the United States!!!!
Say is ain't so joe.
We are shocked, shocked to find that there is gambling on these premises.
Miami lawyers....flying to Colombia...cutting deals....for money???
Nah.
From Occupied America, fight the power!!
BTW- it's 25 degrees today, here in the cold apple. If you can get into one of the WOW suites at the W, we highly recommend it.
Here's an "only in NY" Times article about a city artist that draws hearts on sidewalks.

I don’t care for the whole “ I specialize in snitching “ thing; there something nefarious about the practice . While I envy their fees, I’m not impressed with the advocacy . Since lawyers are smart , cunning and creative , their “ snitch “‘practice promotes deception and perjury.

CAP OUT .....
Rump, seriously, who do we need to call to get the mobile civil case search working?
ReplyDeleteIn case they think it works because you can enter a name or case number, once you enter a name or a case number an error comes out. Every time for over 6 months.
7:57: Re-post on the Civil Blog, please. And, don't come back.

Seriously, you are a lawyer and you need Rumpole to provide a road map to answer your question. You haven't managed to figure out, on your own, how to handle this problem, in six months. I do not want you representing me.
Here are your options:
1. Go back to law school
2. Choose another profession
3. Instead of choosing "Mobile Services" choose "View Full Clerk's Site" (hint: it worked for us)
4. Call your Clerk of Court, Harvin Ruvin (or email him at Harvey@miamidade.gov)
Cap Out .....
Thanks Cap!
DeleteThe full site does work on a mobile but difficult to view on a mobile.
Didn’t know Harvey’s email but have advised the clerks office.
Figured that Bernie reads the blog and has specifically responded to posts on the blog.
If I ever had a problem, I would want you to represent me.
Thanks for the guidance and your post.
Big fan.

THE “KINGMAKER” IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING .....
Gerald Schwartz, 90 years young, passed away yesterday. According to the Miami Herald story, he worked on the campaigns of more than 50 judges. You can read the story here:

ReplyDeleteTHE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
SO, YOU WANT TO BE A FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT JUDGE .....
According to DOM over at his federal blog, POTUS has decided on three of the five open seats. Those names heading to the Senate Judiciary for approval include:
Judge Rudy Ruiz, age 37. He was appointed to the County Court at age 32. To the Circuit Court at age 34. And now he is headed to the Federal bench at age 37. Sound familiar - it should. Ruiz clerked for the last person to make those three leaps without ever having to run in a contested election - Judge Federico Moreno.
Judge Rodney Smith, age 42. He was appointed to the County Court at age 33. Appointed to the Circuit Court at age 37. And now he is also headed to the Federal bench.
Roy Altman, age 35. A six year veteran of the US Attorney's office, he has worked for the past three years at Podhurst Orseck. (In addition to the Federal bench, apparently some think he also belongs on the cover of GQ).

The young judges have it. That is the theme of the year. Don't knock the young! Smith was 33 when appointed to County and Ruiz was 32 when appointed to county. Look at them now in Federal.
ReplyDeleteAnyone older than 40 should not apply to be a Judge this year because you will not be considered.
Rump and Cap. We all know how great this blog is and now you have also been the force behind getting the mobile search function fixed. It is now working. There is no doubt that the blog got the word to the right people.
