The third defense team: headed by Steve Yermish
The third prosecution headed by Reid Ruben.
The death penalty has been waived.
Cardona maintains she did not kill her son. There is a confession from a woman named Pi (really) which has never been presented to a jury because the police don't believe the confession matches their version of the case. Pi has since recanted her putative confession.
The Q would have won this case first time out of the box.
ReplyDeleteThe Gloria Pi defense (a 16 year old intellectually deficient child) was presented in the second trial and rejected by the jury.
ReplyDeleteExcellent bullet point summary for anybody who has not been around the whole time. Very nice job.
ReplyDeleteThe person the Defendant is hugging in that picture is Teresa Enriquez, one of her lawyers in the second trial, who was not included in this post.
ReplyDeleteWhat chyou talkin about Willis?
ReplyDeleteLol Rumpole. Very good 70's reference
ReplyDeleteRon Gainor- the intercontinental man of mystery.

You can blog all you want...just get your own blog and see if anyone would read it. Don't you want to build something yourself? Why not just ask rumpole to post a link to your blog? To me you seem like a copycat. why shoot so low?
ReplyDeletedo you mean snoop?
ReplyDeleteCathy Vogel is a GREAT prosecutor and wonderful person.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that death was waived in the 3rd trial is a huge win for the defense. Kudos,
ReplyDeleteBancarotta Bernie!
ReplyDeleteBoth trials reversed for prosecutor's misconduct. AND the Pi confession was presented to the jury in 2nd trial. Pi even testified, recanting.
ReplyDeleteRump - I missed the boat on Bitcoin. What do you recommend as far as Litecoin and Ephereum are concerned? Worthy investments or is crypto currency the next bubble waiting to burst?
ReplyDeleteYou can blame the prosecutors for the reversals but save room for criticizing Judge Diaz who overruled over 50 defense objections which the Florida supreme court said should have been granted. Let's hope Judge De la O can keep the prosecutors under control or there will be a fourth trial!!!
ReplyDeleteThe defense team lead has not improved in the final bout.
ReplyDeleteBoth sides are represented by the best their respective offices have to offer. The reality is this case is horrific and both sides, finally agree on that. The FL Supreme Court could have found the prosecutors closing harmless in light of the overwhelming evidence. But oh well.
ReplyDeleteLet’s give a shout out to the entire defense and state teams that start with openings on Monday... for the State, it’s Reid Rubin, Christine Hernandez and ChristineZaralban... and for the defense, Steve Yermish and Manny Alvarez. Let’s get ready to rumble...
