THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:
The driver has a bottle of Jack Daniel's in his red Jeep. He smashes into a car, killing a 24-year-old pregnant woman. A prosecutor steps in, ready to send the driver — an Army captain — to prison. The prosecutor is Louis Birdsong, also an Army captain. At this point, in April 2001, he does not know this case will change his own life. In between the two trials - one civil and one military - Birdsong develops a friendly relationship with the driver's recently divorced ex-wife. Three years after the trials, he marries her. The driver, now incarcerated at the Cross City Correctional Institution, was stunned when he learned this year that his ex-wife and his prosecutor had married each other. He said he now thinks Birdsong pushed to have him prosecuted twice in this case, which more than doubled his prison time, so that the couple could be together in peace. He has filed a Bar complaint against the prosecutor and tried to get the military to launch an investigation.

RE: Thanksgiving Turkeys.
Hi Kidsz!!
From our contacts at BSO we (the firm, us, ME!) have arranged with Sheriff Lamberti to get a free Thanksgiving Turkey that BSO is handing out to underprivileged families tomorrow. Just approach the BSO van with your RRA identity badge, DO NOT WAIT IN THE LINE- walk to the head of the line as all BSO officers have been instructed to take RRA employees ahead of the underprivileged families. Take your turkey (remember to ask for the biggest, its the RRA way!) and enjoy. Also remember our commitment to the needy. As such we ask that you donate your leftovers Friday so that some of the needy families who don't get a turkey can get a bite of turkey the next day.
Remember our motto here at RRA- it's better to give than receive as long we also receive firstest and the mostest.
Love ya kidz, and remember to keep out of the administrative offices so we can do our work and keep the firm running.
Happy Turkey Day!

Didn't Al Sepe hit on a woman whose husband he was sentencing? Anyone with a recollection of those events? Investigation? Nothing will happen to Birdsong.
ReplyDeleteHey Captain, How about reporting a high-ranking public attorney who has actually been CONVICTED of criminal activity (twice now)instead of innuendo based upon the suspicion of a felon?
