The title of the post links to the NY Times story of the bizarre saga of South Carolina's Governor Mark Sanford who stole away from the state to rendezvous with his hot "latina chica" in Argentina.
When Sanford disappeared this week his staff suggested he was hiking the Appalachian trail solo.
It turns out he was dancing the tango, and as we all know, that's not a dance you can do alone.
Muy Caliente!!!
Query: Why is it usually these right wing moralizing politicians who rail against sex outside of the marriage, and then end up cheating on their wives? We called former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to help us figure this out but he wouldn't return our calls. (Gingrich left his wife for another woman, serving her with divorce papers while she was in the hospital with cancer.)
Meanwhile, it's still hot in Miami, but at least it stopped raining.
See you in court.
I hope in my next life I can come back as an all-seeing, all wise, all virtuous, sinless, philosopher king who is without sin and therefore can cast the first and succeeding stones against the immoral, hateful, greedy, ignorant, insensitive conservatives that populate this world. Maybe someday they will all be gone, and we can live in an Obama-like Nirvana existence where all the press praise the leader, we see the leader every day, he is full of wisdom, and never errs, and wheer all of the judges agree with whatever knee-jerk, pompous, liberal view that populates the left wing wisdom bank.
ReplyDeleteI am proud to announce that Gov. Sanford will be the Guest DJ at my fundraiser at Tootsie's on Saturday night. 9 PM. $250--all the booze you can drink and $15 lapdances all night long.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't bring your wife/significant other.

ReplyDeleteDoing the "tango" with a hot "latina chica"
8:33- we all make mistakes. We are all human. Which is why it is so difficult to listen to politicians who make their popularity screaming against sin as they see it, when they are in reality no different from the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteIf Sandford became governor by espousing vegetarianism and animal welfare and had his picture taken whist sneaking into a McDonalds to grab a big Mac, I would be saying the same thing.
It's not that he sinned. It's that he and his ilk built their reputations on being holier than thou, when they are clearly not.
Same goes for Elliot Spitzer- who was democrat- and was a prosecutor before becoming governor and besides cheating on his wife may have arguably broken the same money laundering laws he enforced.
That's all this is. Nothing more.
It's lust Rumpole, pure LUST that makes grown men do things that they would otherwise never even consider doing.
ReplyDeleteHere is a guy who they were talking about as a candidate for President in 2012. He was the Chair of the Republican Governors' Conference.
And now he is no better than Bill Clinton - whom Sanford voted to impeach while he was a member of the House.
Cap Out ...
Is there a mass clerk layoff today? Cutting staff in court in half??
ReplyDeletethese days i'd be worried if a politician didnt have a fling.
ReplyDeleteI give the guy major props for a tremendous performance at his press conference. He raised the bar big-time.

"Because I'm just human and I'm tempted and Christ set some almost impossible standards for us. The Bible says, "Thou shalt not commit adultery." Christ said, I tell you that anyone who looks on a woman with lust has in his heart already committed adultery. I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times.... This is something that God recognizes, that I will do and have done, and God forgives me for it. But that doesn't mean that I condemn someone who not only looks on a woman with lust but who leaves his wife and shacks up with somebody out of wedlock. Christ says, don't consider yourself better than someone else because one guy screws a whole bunch of women while the other guy is loyal to his wife. The guy who's loyal to his wife ought not to be condescending or proud because of the relative degree of sinfulness."
Personally I love watching the republicans implode. Long, long overdue. Bunch of pompous, self important, holier than thou hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteDear Colleagues,
ReplyDeleteWe deeply regret that our good friend, Patti Talisman Hersch, beloved wife of Richard, passed away during the night. She will be missed by all that had the joy of meeting and knowing Patti.
