BLAKE OUT OR FAKE OUT????

Our email exploded this morning with loyal readers sending us messages from their phones in court  that Judge Stan Blake has unexpectedly retired and that TODAY was his last day in court. Some readers wrote that the rarely used REGJB building wide speaker system was put into use announcing the Criminal Division's Chief Judge's retirement.

So as we sit here ensconced  high in our Sierra Nevada Winter Blogger's retreat, fully aware that it is not April First, is  it BLAKE OUT OR FAKE OUT?

  3. to Batman:

Actually Batman, I'm thinking he appoints Lawson from the 5th DCA to this open seat; that would make Wells (5th) seat an at large seat for the governor's next appointment. Then he gets to name his hispanic judge.

  5. FACDL-Miami Prez says:

I have it from the horses mouth that Stan is alive and well and still our Administrative Judge.

The rarely used loud speaker system was used and it said that Judge GLICK, not Judge Blake, was retiring and that it was Glick's last day in the building.

So, goodbye and good luck to Judge Glick; welcome back to Judge Blake, happy holidays to all and to all a good night.

  8. Well Rumpole!! As disappointed as some may be, the announcement today in the REGMJB was saying goodbye to Judge Lenny Glick who is officially retiring. Unless I get a call from the JQC or the Governor removing me from office, you're stuck with me here in the REGMJB. This just proves how clear our intercom system is here!! Happy Holidays and Happy and Healthy New Year to all your readers. Stan Blake

  10. THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

I have it on good word that there will be two Glicks wearing robes come 2009 as Lenny will be brought is as a "backup judge" when the need arises to handle those longer than a week homicide cases.

    Cap Out ...

  14. Dear Judge Stan "Rod" Blogoyjoblake":

Glad to see that you're not going anywhere. Don't worry; the attorney general's suit to the Supreme Court to have you removed as Governor isn't going anywhere. Now go skiing!
